You can nitpick the blueline and goaltending but at the end of the day the Leafs can't score which is supposed to be the strength of the team.

I'm not surprised and I was fairly calm the whole game knowing they had a good shot to win, and an equal shot to lose.. Was happy when it was 1-0, thought we could hold it 10 minutes but of course it went away 2 minutes later but I was still calm.. All that being said, unfortunately, once that OT goal goes in...I'm not numb to it... it sucks.. 2013 as a single year feels worse.. but knowing this is the 4th time, it kind of compounds and feels worse, or at the very least ranks right behind 2013.

The Leafs should have had Lou Lamoriello negotiating Marner's and Mathiews contract.

Actually Hayes the much bigger choke job was the Habs series 2 years ago, up 3-1 to a team that just snuck into the playoffs, with their goalie Price and top D-man Weber literally on their last legs. That was soul sucking but I loved it!

I'm not here for the "well they battled back/they fought thru" crap. Their lackluster effort is why it was 3-1 Bs. This core has run its course.

It isn't even really heartbreak anymore. No true Leafs fan truly expected to win Game 7 in Boston. If anything we were utterly surprised they even made it to overtime.

Treliving and Pelley have a lot of work to do. I would entertain offers for every player on the roster , Matthews included just to see what he’s valued at for future reference. They aren’t blowing it up just yet, but that is much more likely in a couple of years especially if they keep choking when the games matter.

I was the biggest Leafs fan in the world since I was 5 years old. About 15 years ago, I gave up especially when they moved out of ACC and the fans weren't really hockey fans anymore. Now, it's weird how I went from the biggest fan in the world, to loving moments like these every season.

Staying healthy is always a part of winning. Boston did not have this problem and that was the difference. Every GM in hockey would give his right nut to have Marner so careful what you wish for as he is not the problem.

Since 1985 i have been a diehard and the numbness started 2 years ago. I did not react much to beating TB and saw writing on wall vs Florida. This year i was not emotionally attached……however, i think they do deserve credit for how they played after game 4. …..at this point i feel bad for the team and young fans. I am settling into detached leaf fan. Relegated to getting my enjoyment watching Wendel Clark youtube vids.

I did the smartest thing ever! I stopped watching the game after the 2nd period! Because frankly I was gonna need an oxygen mask, and a stretcher if I continued to watch. A few years back my doctor recommended that I reduce things that give me stress. So I kind of stopped watching the Leafs in playoffs after the blown MTL series. I did however get that itch back last year against the TBL series and was happy they won while I love my leafs and have for 40 + years, this team is literally gonna put me 6 feet under faster. So I think I need to watch them less and have peace of mind, in my heart, body and soul. Of course I'll keep watching the scoreboard though.

As a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan I know what it feels like to be a leafs fan because the Bills are the NFL's version of them. Both Leafs and Bills plays well during the regular season only to lose and choke against the Chiefs and Bruins in the playoffs. Bruins are to the Leafs what the Chiefs are to the Bills.

The way the Leafs played all year long was to cater to Am34, Marner, Nylander, Reilly offensive 1st style. In the playoffs... against teams like the Bruins, Leafs got embarrassed.... until game 5 and 6. The problem with this adjustment is that you nullify Am34 capability and turn him into a D first forward, wasting offensive talent. Ultimately for the Leafs to play their game but also have the defense they need.... a new elite goaltender is in order. Especially if Woll is injury prone. Samsonov is a backup goalie.

Ignoring game 7 v Habs was that the only one you were up 3-1 in series

As a Bruins fan Im use to losing a lot especially in the Stanley cup finals. , 1988, 1990, 2013, 2019. Losing to certain teams in the playoffs Flyers, Canadiens, Hurricanes, Islanders, Lightning, Panthers, Capitols. Historically Boston has never done well against the Panthers or the hurricanes odds are against them moving forward.

I give the Leafs and the coaching staff full marks. It takes a gritty team to come back from 3 games to 1. They could have easily taken that series.

There is nothing for Leafs fans to feel numb about. Great expectations for their team in a prolific hockey town might be the cause of any numbness but truthfully it is a monumental task for any team in the NHL with 32 teams at large just to make the playoffs each year -0

The Leafs Executives screwed up by not upgrading the Core 4 over the past year. Matthews is likely an elite playoff winger - but at centre Matthews is a playoff nobody.

They are pretty fun to watch in the regular season but they are not as good as the teams in their division. They are an underdog every time they start a series. At the end of the day, the Leafs don't have a good goalie or good defensemen. Signing Tavares was a bad move - the money should have gone to other positions.

I think part of the problem is that a lot of Leaf fans are of the mindset that if a team is "good" and the city and organization is desperate to win a Cup, than they will win. And that just isn't true. There are obviously a lot of teams that want badly to win the Cup and there are about 6 teams who are going all in to try to do that right now. But only 1 team wins each year and the best any organization can actually do, is put the best team possible together and then keep it together for as long as possible to give them the most chances to win. It's VERY difficult to move big contracts and get equal value, especially now (as opposed to the future with draft picks and/or young players). So the best this team could do right now is make another coaching change, figure things out in goal and just give them another run next year. What else can they do really?

Shanahan still committed to the core 4 and refuses to believe they cant win with this group. If Shanahan actually believes this still then he is a bigger problem than I thought for the Leafs and as a Bruins fan I hope he stays on as their President forever.

I was alive the last time the Leafs won the cup. I am not numb to this. But I am not going to trash talk the team. Happy to share my positive and negative observations, however, with senior management, if they are interested.

Honestly.. The refs were fair.. Both teams played their hearts out.. Both goaltenders were excellent.. Can’t be mad about this loss Leafs fans.. Keep your head up and stay positive!! There’s no reason to be mad about this result

They one 1 series in 10 years it would be shocking if they one. Boston is not that good even their coach said they are not a 1st place team. Leafs big hope is they might get lucky, no one fears playing the leafs.

They need to let Marner go , look for a true trio 4 Dman . A solid Goalie to work with Woll . Let both Keefe and Shannahan go . I would even look at Tavares being moved . Free up enough cap space to really help add the pieces needed that can be affordable to stay . The biggest problem with the Core 4 is that they create to much player movement as the leafs have to basically rent players for a season or 2 at most then move on so no chemistry is ever built .

Marner & Tavares should be out of here. MM 3 pts - JT 2 Pts. Unfortunately Tavares isn't moveable, but Marner is & better be gone.

Change the coach but keep team look at the oilers and how long it is taking them and how long it took Tampa to finally win we need to keep Domi and bertuzzi
