I relate so much to the “I’ve never seen my hair that long before” and “I never saw people who looked like me with long hair”. Me EITHER! I hate that for us! I only saw one cousin with long hair my entire life. My hair began breaking off in middle school. I struggled with it for so long. I’ve been growing it out naturally for the past 6-9 years; it’s now mid back. It’s the longest it’s ever been and I’m so inspired/excited by Her (I refer to my Hair as Her, she also has a name lol) It’s really a journey of self-care and self-love for Black women. We’ve been taught to not care for ourselves properly and in turn, have been limited in the kinds of experiences we deserve to have. Black girls can and DO have long hair! It’s not a myth for us! Don’t give up, stay patient, positive, consistent and most of all BE GENTLE!

So inspiring! I feel the same way. Been natural for 14 years now and never going back! My hair has been waist length 3 times already, but I big chopped 3 times because I was learning so much and not being fully satisfied with how my hair was looking due to having 5 kids (hair loss) as well as bleach. My hair is waist length again now, but I want ALL of it to be waist length and get to tailbone length and beyond now! Hair ls life. 😋💘

Thanks and you're welcome! Yes, I am pretty much a pro now because of having 5 heads to do, all also waist length hair LOL! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. My hair is down my chin now after 3 years. I have been natural for more than 10 years but started over 3 years ago because I wanted to take care of it. I have experienced setbacks out of not really doing the right thing but I'm glad it's growing although slowly but it's the longest my hairs been. Already started my mini braids journey and though people find it funny but I don't care. I really like this video, it's inspiring and I won't give up! Hugs from Nigeria. What would you say contributed to the increase in your hair density? That's what's I'm concerned about as well as health.
@cocaknotz
@cocaknotz 9 месяцев назад
Thanks babe , I am glad you loved it , I can’t wait to get to Nigeria and play in your hair 😉 what contributed that most is not combing my hair for months / years just doing protective styles I would only use a pointed tail comb to part only , I only finger detangled , next I highly recommend only using natural products so natural you can eat it and not get it even switch your shampoo to natural shampoo, also watering my hair daily, so this and your hair will be toooooo long 😊
@Yemmyliz
@Yemmyliz 9 месяцев назад
Weldon, it’s not an easy journey but it’s definitely worth it… I’m also committed to wearing my natural hair in braids and leaving it alone. I run errands with a satin scarf on, but I’m sure I’ll be looking weird to some people. The only problem is I’ll be going to NYSC camp soon and don’t know how to style my hair for those 3 weeks😏

@cocaknotz
@cocaknotz 9 месяцев назад
Thank you sweetheart, don’t give up , it’s just a process and journey and most of the journey is learning and unlearning, perms require a different approach versus natural hair and you just have to find a routine that YOUR hair will flourish from . Use water 💦 almost daily switch to natural oils and butters and shampoos, STOP USING COMBS , use protective styles to keep you from combing your hair too much that’s about it , binge watch my channel for more specifics , but you got this Queen your destiny is big long healthy hair

I loved this video! Cool cool. Welp as u know I just did the big chop 2024 so I'm back where you started but my sh is healllllthy ok? hahaha The braid look that the lady did on you is my favorite way to wear natural hair, I think it looks so good. I really really dislike when the braids shrink I'm like ummm I've been workin hard like was ur prob stop shrinkin. hahaha I was wondering how many years ago did you have 4 inch hair (like when u started). U've come a long way. I can say all the photos looked so good. the straigh hair, short hair, long hair etc etc all good and goddess like and beautiful. Me? I need long hair ok? I have big shoulders and b88b I gotta balance that out hahahahaa so it's wig for me. And I like my wig to be waist length and when my real hair gets BSL I'll be happy then.

Thank you for the video. I want my hair to grow faster, fuller and thicker. I wish my mom had known about twist outs back in the day when I was a little girl. The summer before i started 4th grade my mom put a perm in my hair - a jheri curl. I didnt want that in any shape or form. I had my hair like that for two years. Afterwards, my mom waited a few months before she put a relaxer in my hair. She would do my hair every 6 or 7 weeks. I disliked the process of getting my hair relaxed. My mom would get my hair bone straight that meant overproccessed. That went on for years until about 2010. Ive been natural for 10 years. Because I used to get boxed braids for a time after 2013, my hair grew but this person was late doing my hair so i never went back. I got someone else to do boxed braids but they all were about the long braids that were too heavy. I was tired of spending the money and my time sitting through that process. The last person that did my boxed braids did them so tight that my hair came out in spots. So I didnt go back to her. A friend recommended a friend of hers that did hair. She was ok for awhile until a year and a half ago. She stated that she more about the money than anything else so I stopped going to her. I was so stressed about the outcome and my hair not growing like itvused too I almost gave up on everything. People at work would talk about me. Why won't you get another crochet hairstyle or braids? I was so depressed then that i didn't have any hope. Later this year will be the 10th anniversary of my mom passing. 5th year for my dad to cancer. 4th year for an aunt(mom's baby sister) passed away from lung cancer. One year since another aunt passed away from MS and another bout with cancer. A year ago a great uncle and a cousin passed away on my dads side. Two funerals Another cousin on my dad side passed away about two months ago. I had a cousin on my dad side to pass away from cancer over a month ago. I had a friend pass away less than a month ago. Life is almost too much to bare sometimes but I know that i must continue on for myself and my fur children. I miss my departed family and friends. That's why i believe my hair isn't growing. I'm a little stressed. Thanks for reading my long explanation.

Mmmm I want to try your products 😬😬. My hair is the most healthiest it’s been (in its natural state) than it’s ever been. I swear that I didn’t know what to do with it either and would get frustrated a lot. I didn’t know how to moisturize it or nothing. I keep braids back to back. But my edges are not good. So I’m going to have to start working on that too. Can I ask which of your products would you recommend for someone like me who constantly wears braids to try out?
@cocaknotz
@cocaknotz 9 месяцев назад
Thank you sweetheart very much for trusting my hair advice , braids are a great protective style but you cannot ever allow to have your braids become dry , you should be moisturizing your braids every day or ATLEAST 4 times a week , the only way to moisturize is with water . Then seal with an oil or butter , the entire length of your hair within the braids , so when you wake up get a spray bottle put 1 ounce of water in it then add a water softener and conditioner use 15 drops of my elixir in the bottle of water cocaknotz.com/ols/products/mane-magic-growth-elixer Step 2 water 💦 your braids focusing on the entire length of your hair in the braids get it nice and “moisturized “ Step 3 use the Deep nourishing oil to seal the water into the braids , put this oil the entire length of your hair shaft within the braids cocaknotz.com/ols/products/nourishing-deep-oil-treatment Step 4 use the end repair butter to further seal the ends of your hair within the braids focusing on the ends of your hair cocaknotz.com/ols/products/mane-magic-hair-end-repair-butter Step 5 use the Growth drops on your scalp to stimulate growth and get them edges back fuller than ever cocaknotz.com/ols/products/mane-magic-growth-drops Don’t forget to grab the Magic growth sauce I call it the detangler so when it’s time for removal the buildup blasting properties and slip promoting benefits will help you retain massive growth cocaknotz.com/ols/products/mane-magic-growth-sauce Follow these instructions and BABBBY THE GROWTH ,HEALTH AND THICKNESS OF YOUR HAIR GON BLOW YOUR MIND 😘😘😘😘😘😘

I believe we have the same hair texture. I just stopped with wearing weaves and trying to just wear my hair out in mini twists. My hair is so short tho. So it looks like little worms rn. How long did it take you to grow your hair to shoulder length?
@cocaknotz
@cocaknotz 9 месяцев назад
Not little worms 😂😂 I grew the Average of 6 inches a year for my first couple years so I would say just about two years , just use the comb a lot less than you do now , add water almost daily and switch all your products to natural ingredients only so natural you could eat and not be I’ll 💋 that’s it babes , your hair will be waist length in no time

@@cocaknotz This is the secret sauce for long hair! After 6-12 weeks did you wash your beautiful hair or did you simply just braid again?
@cocaknotz
@cocaknotz 7 месяцев назад
@@blaqrapunzel3799 yes I would , finger detangle , do a hot oil treatment go under the steamer and then shampoo my hair , while my hair was soaking wet I would add leave in conditioner and my thick Magic oil then finger detangle once more and put the twist or braids right back in all without a comb just my fingers and a parting stick

@cocaknotz
@cocaknotz 2 месяца назад
That’s not true we don’t use the word Can’t in the long hair society, 🙃 your hair is growing in the crown area it’s just taking its sweet time , here are some tips babe , no more tension hairstyles, more hydra in that area , scalp massage 💆 in that area 3-5 min daily with growth drops , no combing or brushing at all in that area , and if you are in some blood pressure medication or sugar medicine ask your doctor to switch to a different brand that does not have hair thinning side effect, try not to stress babe , give the middle of your hair permission to grow

Maybe in a few years when and if I decide to wear my hair straight on a regular basis , my ends are not split , they just look a little see through because when I first started my long hair journey I used to have very weak , thin hair but now my hair is so much thicker and stronger , my ends tell my Hair Story , they were once my roots 😁 I am okay with not having a neat fresh cut , as long as my ends are not split and damaged I’m okay with it my love , thank you for watching darling

Awww babe I understand, going Natural is one ☝️ thing and having Long Natural Hair is another , your probably using too much manipulation, try avoiding combs and brushes all together or a lot less , use water 💦 almost daily and switch to all natural products also use protective styling and keep them in 1-3 months at a time 🥰
@redrose14152

Try mini twists. Keep them in for a month at a time or longer. Moisturize and seal every other day. And I will guarantee that it will work 👍🏾. I had 5 inches of hair too and now I’m at 14-16 inches. Give it a try.
