They aren’t taking any liberties with the characters like you just said. The director specifically told both versions of the story from Tonya‘s perspective and her husband‘s.....which are completely opposite of one another.
I just want to say Tonya Harding was not ugly, alittle rough but she's not ugly. That said quite a bit of this is on point. Tonya's life after "the incident" was pretty uneven. The whole boxing thing remember, maybe they took a few small liberties. All in all it looks like a pretty good movie. Margot Robbie rocks
I was DEEP in Figure Skating during this time (watch - can't skate for shit myself) but I will give me 2cents on this and what you guys mentioned. Story - the 1 thing to remember is that Tonya (allegedly) had no CLUE that her husband and his friend were planning the "hit" but what she was guilty of (and then banned for life) was knowledge AFTER the fact and not telling anyone/turning them in when she found out. As for the trailer...Allison Janey better get an oscar nod for this because if you look up ANYTHING on Tonya's dead beat BITCH of a mom, you will see interviews with her in a fur coat and that damn bird! She plays her PERFECTLY! Great reaction, as always - love you guys!
Casstastic 2014 I totally agree with everything you said, I also recall Nancy Kerrigan having kind of an attitude when Oksana won the gold, it was a less than great full attitude. He was anything but not gracious.
Tonya didn't hit anybody, that was Jeff her ex-husband and her bodyguard. Let's not forget that here. You make it sound like she was the one who actually did the actual hitting.
@@t4u112 tonya was not involved, actually she had stated that she had figured out the night before but didn’t say anything because she was scared of her husband, he led the attack.
I didn't really saw the whole movie but, from the scenes i saw, i'm just confused that Sebastian Stan didn't get an oscar, i mean.. His acting in this movie is so good! Robbie Margot did great too, they both deserve and oscar actually :)
