Man Maven this genuinely immediately touched my heart and brought a few tears to my eyes. My names Aaron and I was adopted by my aunt and uncle too. I was 3 days old and my aunt (mama) says she never wanted me to end up in the system so with no promise of any sort of help she took on the responsibility of me for 18yrs of my life until she passed in 2011. I understand I had real parents but you couldn’t tell me Eartha wasn’t my mother because she was.

Damn Maven, I lost my Mom when I was 8 years old & I never knew my father. I’m 33 years old going on 34. I’m still trying to figure out why I’m here & still pushing.

You aren’t the only one who grew up without knowing our father or our history. But I feel that helps us become great men because of the lessons we were never taught and had to learn through absence. A couple months ago my mother and I learned who my biological father was only to learn he was shot and killed before I was even 2. My mom had only run into him once after I was conceived but didn’t talk to him much and again had no idea herself. I’m glad you were able to do this for yourself and give just whatever clarity you hoped to gain from it!

I've been working on my family's genealogy for about 10 years. I've helped multiple adopted DNA relatives figure out who their birth parents were. Genealogy is a great hobby! It's great to to learn about your family. I'm from Ireland - my ancestry results are 97% Ireland, 3% Sweden/Denmark. I also did MyHeritage and got in contact with a 2nd cousin in England who sent me a bunch of family photos. My grandparents lost all their photos in a house fire, so I had no photos on that side of my family. Keep up the good content Maven!
