Hello, Eli. I fell upon your channel last weekend while battling a nasty COVID infection, and my family and I watched a dozen of your videos in one day (some videos I watched twice!). Your content is superbe. Thank you so much for your work.
Funny I just saw the video and now it is August 2022, And I'm at the tail end of a nasty bout with covid 19, which I had avoided until recently. What a pleasure to wake up in the middle of the night and get to Enjoy seeing and learning a little about your perspectivesAnd travels.
Nice drone shots, very cool! And the story telling is top notch always, I especially appreciate the use of music!! Thank you, Eli for another little bit of Russia 🥰
Winters are hard in Russia and its gotten several Russian RU-vidrs down. So, I appreciate your positive attitude and energy. I've learned a lot about Russia thanks to your channel.
@@ElifromRussia I'd be curious to see a video on how you're able to execute quite a professional & consistent look, such as the equipment commonly used; framing & lighting techniques; music sourcing & rights etc. Might be worth doing esp. if you have your wings a bit clipped during this period.
Your presentation is excellent, improving all the time. Draws viewer in. And who said Russians don't smile? You seem to be able to not only get people to smile with you or even laugh.
May 2 doors 2 rooms at one time Style of rooms can still be the same in other parts of the world. Not all people are influenced by decor magazines. Love that you can fish in your backyard in winter. We have no ice but never fish in winter
Hello Eli! 🙋🏻♂️🇦🇺🤔😃👍🌹 ty ochen elegantnya 😅😉✌🇷🇺 Wow! Sometimes I wonder what it must have been like in Soviet Russia back hundreds of years ogo. I started reading the book Dr Zhivago which was so romantic and wonderful. Maybe I'll continue to read it again. Those old trains are amazing.
Wow! How very very perfectly Beautiful 😍😁!! The Locomotive and the mountain park. I could just stay in that park forever. Thank you so much for a simple magnificent video.
G'day Eli, such an amazing strana. You are so knowledgeable and passionate about your country. It's breathtaking and interesting. I'm enjoying it. Thank you..
The steam train ride would be neat ride to see.I’ve seen one at a Franklin county courthouse in Eastern Washington State. It was a coal fire one too.Got to look at it and it was big.
Nice video. I have been on a steam train just once, in '13 in Ely Nevada which has a quite famous steam train but Ely is remote so not many people make it there. The trip was amazing, your video reminds me of my trip, but I am jealous--your steam train looks more elegant and the locomotive is quite beautiful. Nice video, I have enjoyed many of your videos--tourism was my career, and video which celebrates tourism and shares our homes is a wonderful way to communicate and educate.
Great vlog as always Eli! You are awesome! The berry in the arctic north is called Cloudberry. In Norwegian: Multe bær. Karelia has that been finnish or is it the same name on both sides of the border? Looking forward to the next. Be safe!
Yes Eli is traveling in old Finnish Karelian soil through this video! This is part of of the lands that Stalin stole from Finns in the second world war, in heavy fights.Odd that Eli did not mention this!!
That apartment was actually pre-communist era. The wooden floor was highly posh back then 😉 Commoners used to have floor covered with lino and rugs/carpets. And that furniture is from 50s-60s. So actually quite luxurious one you had 😄
when you will be done with rusia travelling and seeing things, you should write a detailed travel guide for tourism and sight seeing. we tourists dont know anything of rusia. you can also make a site on the internet and do it and promote it your self. for every city seperately. ggod luck thank you loads! excelent friends excellent english!! did they have toefl?
Loved this video, Eli! I am falling in love with Russia through your videos. Such a beautiful mesmerizing place, like a fairyland or Narnia! And the train ride was so luxurious. You have improved your video-recording and cinematography skills as well. Keep the awesome videos coming! Love from India!
I love Eli's channel so much. It's informative, entertaining, fun. And all with a positive vibe. This is DEFINATELY the BEST Russian channel on all of RU-vid. Thank you SO MUCH Eli! 👍👍
Yes such an incredibly great channel, with such fantastic editing and production values. Also I was so excited when I saw Nikki I watch his RU-vid channel as well 😊 / I wish to you both only positive thoughts in these trying times. You and your contemporaries are our future 💖
I am old enough to remember regularly traveling on steam trains, the smell and sounds will always stick with me. Also standing on a railway bridge when a train went through and you'd disappear into a cloud of steam. Wonderful.
Love that old train very elegant inside nice of the engineer to let you in cab. That would not happen here. Keep going I am watching your videos one after another.
Eli, you are an ambassador of Russia. I think government should pay you and I think your videos will be an inspiration to everyone who watches your videos to travel even to the most remote places of Russia. Because at the same time you're showing us how beautiful and interesting of a place that could be to even think about traveling there and have a journey in real Russian winter. That's amazing! Keep up the good work!
Reza Morarami, indeed Eli, is a Russian treasure. What I like are her incredible energy, talent and positive attitude. I appreciate that she avoids run-down places, which no doubt exist in Russia as they exist worldwide. Eli always makes me happy. In Canada, the winters are long, cold, wet, and days are short. And in our Beautiful British Columbia, we also have broken sidewalks, potholes in the streets and blocks of homeless people in hour major city. So Eli, please continue showing us beauty.
Hello from Finland. Long time ago I used to live near to the Russian border and I visited Sortavala dozens of times in the 1990's and had many friends there. Of course I drove there via Ruskeala every time. My first trips to Sortavala were when it was the Soviet Union. Things have changed a lot since then. BTW, "Ruskeala" is Finnish and it can be translated as "brown village".
I live in Cherepovets, it's about the same place, according to our concepts, but we've already forgotten how it translates... "Mountain and tribe" is possible and so.
Well, the whole of Karelia WAS Finnish eighty years ago, and was taken from you by force from the Soviet Union (i.e., occupied), just like part of Ukraine is these days by the Russian Federation. - Maybe the Russians want to give it back to you some day?
@@Jobst_van_Delft actually not the whole Karelia. A half of it has never been territory of Finland as it's quite big. Russians will never want to give that part that used to be Finland back. They have the attitude that what has one day been Russia, it will always be Russia. And in fact we Finns don't even want it back because it has been totally ruined in those decades after Russia stole it from us.
Actually both of my parents lost their homes that time, but my mother has said that let them keep that area because they have turned it to a shit. It's too late now.
The steam locomotive seems so romantic, the chugging of the engine, the steam whistle, and the clickety-clack of the tracks, so cool. I imagine it would give such a sense of nostalgia. I love those tea cups too.
Compliments for that marvellous steam train. It is truly awesome and the atmosphere really romantic You eat very well in Russia. Each region has its own culinary specialties, even in these remote places, where nature is not so generous with man, who has to face a lot of difficulties for sustenance, such as fishing through iced holes. Grazie per questo bellissimo video.
This is such an interesting video. Steam trains are less efficient in many ways, but, travelling on a train like this which is maintained in period can "transport" the traveller back to an earlier time and place. There is almost no better way to experience history. I hope that the train in its present state is maintained so that many people can experience and learn about earlier times. Awesome vid Eli.
Very interesting comment. HASAMDO insects in South Korea out of their cultural inferiority removed and demolished everything about SEOUL the Capital City.
Hey Eli, I'm South African 🇿🇦 and I must say I'm quite intrigued. I found your channel a couple of days ago and I have been glued to it. The cinematography, the story telling, and general adventures are absolutely breathtaking! I am truly impressed and I think your videos should be on discovery Channel or national geographic. Keep up the good work! ❤️Aya from South Africa 🇿🇦
Some of the places you visited, looks like as if they were taken from a fantasy movie, fantastic, artistic, fascinating there's many words to describe these places
OMG what a cool adventure. I luv steam trains and their unique whistles. You were right, the trip was to short. The marble mine was beautiful and awesome. Thanks so much for sharing your travels. Can't wait for the next video. Be safe and stay warm. Your friend seems very nice.
Thank you so much for sharing your travels and experiences on YT. Russia is absolutely stunning, both in its busy cities and in its wild lands, and all the villages and secret places between! I am very much looking forward to the rest of your far north travels!
Such a lovely place. It's a winter wonderland. We are from India and recently we visited Moscow and St.Petersburg. Your videos have inspired us to explore Russia furthermore. Keep it up. 👍
Thank you so much for sharing your videos and your channel! You are amazing! There are so many similar things I can see in the Russian people with other places in the world. People that love nature, people, and country. There is so much beauty in the world that should be shared as friends. Thank you again for sharing the beautiful Russian country and wonderful Russian people with us.!
What a great video, Eli !! Thanks so much for sharing and will look forward to more of your Northern travels. Stay warm the best you can, and keep that beautiful smile. Carry on, and give us more !! Cheers!!
That steam train is quite something really elegant inside. Wow!! Thank you for showing another interesting region of Russia especially to see the snow beauty of the winter. Most people typically travel in the summer
You are so lucky to be able to ride on the Ruskeala Express, thank you for taking us along on your journey. I have long admire the significant role the railroads have played in the history of Russia and the Soviet Union, especially during the Great Patriotic War.
I know a very , very old lady who rembers Soviet tanks rolling into her town in Karelia when she was little. She and her family escaped to Finnish Karelia

WOW. Another wonderful adventure! Your videos are so well done. I loved that beautiful train! I would like to visit Russia just to ride in that train. Our Amtrak trains in American pale in comparison. The food looks so delicious there. Here's a correction. When you wrote in the subtitle "blood warm," it should be spelled bloodworm for the animal. Looking forward to your next video!
I enjoy both of your videos. To take short "armchair tours" of Russian lands and cultures without the politics is important. Niki and Eli, you are each ambassadors of friendship.
In Canada we had coal fired steam trains like that from the 1880s through to 1950 when the switch was made to Diesel-electric engines. The coaches and dining cars were modernized over the years. Eli, it was great to see your friend Niki. I have been following Nikki’s interesting RU-vid vlog for the last year in various countries. The trip north reminded me of the few hours of day light during winter time in Yellowknife, the capital of he North West Territories
WOW..You dont see trains like that in West anymore. Eli, that was so cool. I have subscribed to a few Russian RU-vid Channels, but dare I say that Eli from Russia RU-vid Channel is by far the best of them all. Top quality content. 🎬👌. If you asked me 5 years ago who was the best? I would have replied "the Anglo-American Empire". But now, I stand corrected..it is Russia.
Eli your work is remarkable. I'm from the Philippines. Through your videos, I got a glimpse of Russia. For most of us Filipinos, the US is fascinating but after watching several of your blogs, I realized that your country has so much to offer. I am always fascinated by what you are sharing. Good luck to you and may you continue to educate your audiences.Hugs from the Philippines!
Eli, I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Thank you so much for your hard work. Your English is excellent, and your historic destinations in Russia are very interesting. Travel prayers and God bless.
