Apparently Jack Quaid was still getting hate years after for his character killing Rue to the point where Rue's actress had to make a statement online and basically say "Y'all, back off, we're friends irl he killed me in a movie like 10 years ago"

3:12 you are the FIRST reactor I have seen call out the “man and woman” line from the reaping. You’re absolutely right!!! They are not men and women they are children. But the capital purposely uses this language.

One of my favorite parts of the book is that every meal is described in detail. From breakfast in the woods, the lavish food in the capital, the odd things foraged in the arena, and the glass of orange juice shes handed in the helicopter. Everything is described except one meal. Her final meal before entering the arena. This shows that food is something Katniss thinks about often and in high significance. But the threat of the arena is so powerful in her mind it can even block out the thoughts of food.

I dont remember his name but the dude who saved Katniss from Orphan and said it was for Rue was apparently a really big deal in the book, like he was a big fucking dude who most of the tributes and players were scared of and stayed away from, and they did him really dirty in the movie by not having him and killing him offscreen by CGI dogs

I’ve always loved the scene of the countdown before the games begin. Well… I don’t _love_ it, I just think that it’s really well done! It’s incredibly nerve wracking, and given the fact that we’re waiting for a bunch of literal children to start straight up butchering each other, it _really_ captures the mood and fits _perfectly._

the reapings are usually random, especially for a district like 12, when repeaings are rigged its to make it more entertaining or to serve a political purpose (i.e. rigging it so previous victors family are reaped vs the 75th quarter quell)
