You cracked me up with the tumbleweed. Our town in Arizona had a huge windy time and the town was buried in tumbleweeds. Folks were calling the fire dept to clear the doors so they could get out of their houses. It was so freaky, and it took months to clean it all up

The edit makes it seems like you went out of your way to find interesting and scenic "backroads", because thanks to the modern marvel of the U.S. Interstate Highway System, most cross-country road trips are endless stretches of 4-lane highway.

We moved from Scotland to Norway with our dog. Driving with friends and family. Dog on ferries, trains and taxis. This video brings so many memories. Thank you for making it and sharing your journey with us. Good luck!

I loved everything about this video. Your cross-country trek brought back memories of my own from 2 years ago (Seattle to Florida). The emotional goodbye at the airport struck me hard as it was how I felt saying goodbye to my BFF Jill after stopping to see her in Colorado. Terra Haute, pronounced like Tera Hote. I grew up in Indiana, and there is a great joke about this. Two guys are driving down I-70 and they decide to stop there for lunch, but they get into an argument about how to pronounce the name. One guy insists it is pronounced Terr Hottie, the other insists that Tera Hote is correct. They decide to settle the argument by stopping at the first business they come to and asking the staff. So they get off the interstate, go into the first place they find and the one guys says "We are having an argument about the pronunciation of this place. Can you please tell us how to say the name of this place as slowly and carefully as possible?" The clerk responds "D-A-I-R-Y Q-U-E-E-N".

For the next time that you travel... put Smudo's ID and collar on him when you travel or stop to let him run. Laura, when I was a kid, my friends’ families would go on road trips through the southwest and go to all the ghost towns. They would come home with cow skulls, arrowheads, just the coolest stuff. I was so envious! I’m so glad you got to experience this.

I think you would really love a visit to the old mining town of Cerro Gordo. I thinks it’s a few hours from LA. The owner Brent has a really great RU-vid channel called ghost town living.

I got so many questions and feel like this vid is also the beginning of the end of your ‘Laura Germany’ which is kinda sad BUT it’s not about me or us viewers. So you do what you need to do and live your life how you think you should live.
