Turns out the whole "best battleship" idea was obsolete before it was even built. Sadly for them the Japanese didn't read the memo, or listen to the one guy who did.
@@DavidGuild Had it come out at the start of the war, and had it been manned by proper sailors with a proper escort... things would've been different in history (still would've lost, big target, big kablamo). As is, they basically sent it to slaughter and wasted a shitload of resources for nothing.
Sticking with the nautical theme it might be worth looking into From the Depths, you get to build all your own stuff from scratch and you might enjoy it
@@Gzussss In World of warships you get 2 technically 3, but most of the time you just 2 ammunition types HE and AP. HE stands for High explosive, it’s great when you have smaller, very fast firing guns, it starts fires, and very effective if aimed at the bridge. AP stands for Armor piercing, it’s great when you have massive guns that can just brute force through the armor(simplified well since you probably have no idea about naval terms I simplified everything, and if your interested just look it up), but where it excels is in broadsides which is when the enemy ship’s side is facing you. You can even hit the citadel, it’s basically where all the machinery is at, and it will cause massive damage.
I mean, he's playing Tier X ships in bot games, and it's like his... second time playing? feels like it, anyways. It was fun, even though it was also a bit painful
Fun fact about Texas: During D-day, her obsolete guns couldn’t gain the elevation needed to strike some targets. So usually happened in scenario is that the ship gives up and returns to port. but that’s not what the Texas did Texas flooded one side of the ship to increase the elevation of the guns, she struck all planned targets. I believe the only ship to do so on D-day.
@@deidryt9944 I was talking about D-day as a operation not a specific day, but I see how my words said that and I changed On to During, and to be factually correct Texas only flooded her torpedo bulges.
Yeah I didn't know that but was gonna say configuring the ballast to get it to list would've been a option that's really cool in times of great need ordinary people can do extraordinary things
I'm from Houston, so growing up we would take field trips to see the real Battleship Texas. The Texas was the first US battleship to become a permanent museum ship, so a lot of Houston-area kids probably toured it on field trips.
Firstly: Don't sell your soul to WeeGee 😅 Secondly: for the love of everything bridges, please don't encourage new players to only shoot high explosive 😂
I was thinking to myself "That poor New Orleans player is probably pissed about being on fire the whole time, RCE had at least 3 opportunities to just wipe him off the map"
Funfact about wether a Vessel is a Ship or a Boat: First off a disclaimer: I am no Expert, I never properly went to sea, nor have I built Ships apart from the Paper ones in elementary School, but I saw a Video about this not too long ago and it was rather interesting so I remembered this (Sauce at the bottom) So while there's no standard definition and some Countries categorize their Vessels differently, as a Rule of Thumb: If the Vehicle leans into it's turning circle (left turn leans left and vice versa) it is safe to assume it counts as a Boat and if it leans outward of it's turning circle, it's called a Ship. Most of the time the difference in Size alone is - obviously - enough to distinguish between Boats and Ships, the real Problem lies in the "intermediate" Sizes, where it isn't clear at one glance. I know there are Ships that should probably be categorized as Boats with this "rule" in mind, but again, this rule is nothing official, just mostly agreed upon. Addition after partially re-watching the Video: Apparently the US Navy officially uses this categorization. Another problem with this Rule of Thumb is that wether a Vessel leans in or out while turning can be - and is influenced by it's overall Design such as center of Gravity, center of Buoyancy and Hull-shape. I've heard the warnings from players about this game being unbalanced af and pay2win. However, I don't care, so long as RCE got a decent payment for the sponsorship then that's fine with me.
@@hardkur poor CC's, getting overinflated ideas of what they're meant to be doing and getting their feelings hurt when daddy weegee ignored them. Reminiscent of when simps realize donating thousands of dollars to a streamer does not, in fact entitle them to their attention
And it's worst for the console version ! The game has not even changed since it's release 2 years ago. It's the same but you earn less money and exp . Very cool concept but *no* realisation.
As someone in the US Submarine force, I would like to inform you that, yes Surface Ships are called ships, but Submarines are refered to as Boats. Also Submarines are champions compared to surface fleet. There are submarines and there are targets, no inbetween.
14:21 dang! That reminds me of a boss warship I used to fought in a video game called, "Naval Ops: Warship gunner" that uses that chainsaw on front of the bow to scew you over if you are nearby while controlling your own customized warship.
If we stick to the Navy theme, Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts is a good game. It lets you design different ship types and a few months ago, the devs finally added the campaign, though it is currently limited to the UK and Germany
Ive been playing this game on and off for four years, the fact that they unlocked all the ships for you makes me pretty jealous, I have about 65 teir 5 and up right now. But there are so many things you are doing wrong that I wont even begin to explain. It really is a fun game for anyone who is interested but playing against other players is alot more strategic and difficult than the bots that get stuck on islands all the time.
6:30 fun fact: on big battleships, like the one in the video I'm just writing about, there cannot be any personel on the main deck, because when you shoot the cannons the shock wave would most likely kill everyone on the main deck ;) That is why everyone has to get under the main deck at least and do all the stuff inside
As a wows player, it pains me inside when he doesn't switch ammo types, but I'm not going to bash him because at least he didn't yolo in and die like most noobs.
If you a bit serious about this game and gonna pla it more (be it on video or just for yourself) I recommend checking the settings. There are some tools there to "make life easier" (different types gun sights, info you will or want to remove from HUD etc) And it is most definitely not Ya MAY to
@@mbrackeva tbh haven't played myself in a while. But played also for years, never had to pay a dime and had loads of fun. I "specialised" in Japanese Destroyers.
Please try FtD you can build ships, planes, tanks and buildings meaning bridges. You can also build different kinds of weapons from small autocannons, large naval cannons,2meter wide mortars and rockets to lasers
oh no not my game I didn't think he'd come here. me being no don't repair one fire.. no depth charges don't work on ships.. no don't use spotter plane then.. oh god the other people raging.. oh hey at least he's playing co-op lol you should should be shooting ap lol
On D-Day the Texas was the only ship to engage on every beach, they also flooded the one side of the ship in order to angle the guns higher and hit targets further inland.
you need to use the right ammo. AP rounds is for the hull. aim a little above water line . HE rounds is for structures above deck. that will change your payout dramatically
1:19 You can call it a boat, if the center of gravity is bellow the fretboard, and it will turn inwards. But if it turns outwards and the center of the gravity is above the fretboard, then definitively its a ship.
Pro-tip you deal damage based on where you hit. Focus on citidel hits, as they deal 3x the damage of regular pens. They tend to be hidden by the armor belt, but generally the spot to go for is COM, just above the waterline
"It have a lots of AA-Guns so a Aircraft is not getting near me" Me: *rofl* Aircraft carriers are Wargaming's favorite kids and they get it all. If an aircraft carrier targets you, they'll get you no matter how much AA defense you have. And since all Wargaming aircraft carriers have factories on board, they never really run out of planes either. There's a reason aircraft carriers are called the fun police.
nah, only architects care about the difference, like some artistic representation of the word. It's a floaty in the water you can stand on and steer like a vroom vroom machine but on the ocean.
MATT you dork, you need to get the super thanks thing on your channel so I can send you some tips! I can't really watch streams and stuff for reasons hence why I joined your members and stuff but I wanted to give ya like 10 dollars to say thank you for making my days just that little bit brighter!
Hey so with battle ships unless there's a destroyer coming for you then you use AP on battleships and it's the same thing for everybody you know if you're broadsided and destroyer you use AP if you're not you use he he is good for sending fires APS for hitting citadels which do a lot of extra damage
Absolutely not lol, ultimate admiral dreadnoughts is absolute garbage as much as I hate to say it, it released proper recently and failed to deliver on every front, plus it has quite bad reviews
I tried this game, and it was fun at first, but soon I was consistently getting matchups where it felt like nothing I did mattered at all; either my team won handily without me getting a chance to contribute at all, or we got flattened in a way that seemed unstoppable. It's also effectively pay-to-win, which is very annoying. (Yes, technically speaking you can grind to get some of the same stuff, but in my experience it was taking AGES to make any progress.)
You should look into a game called "From the depths" it's a vehicle building game where you can build fully custom vehicles and weapons. I think it also has a story mode
Pay to win is bullocks Free to play while others pay is bullocks Games using rewards to get people hooked on dopamine is bullocks Great content, and games you play.
Whoa! I was just looking at your channel to see if you had uploaded today and it showed you hadn't but then I went to my recommended and this video was the first one in there
Well... Of course Tegetthoff (Name of one of this ramming ships which was an Austrian sea commander) is ramming the boats... Thats how he won the battle of Lissa and beat the Italians (historical fact)
Japanese is a phonetic language so there is no condition where a vowel changes sound (At least that's what I read) So Yamato should be pronounced: Yah-mah-toh
As a veteran player to this game, please don't spend any money! WG only care about profit margins and not the player all (Almost at EA levels) they are ruining the game fast and only surviving on new players so make sure you don't spend a penny! Thx!
There is certain charm of shooting HE with a Texas when you are starting to play the game. But if you know about the game im pretty sure you are yelling at the screen
