It all depends how you carry yourself. Be it fair or dusky or dark complexion you won't be seen as a "beautiful" person if you don't carry yourself properly and to have a good skin care everyday. People basically only judge you when you don't carry yourself properly (as I had said).

I have also dusky complexion and i m proud of my skintone, bcoz i get so many compliments on my behaviour , my fashion sense , my talent and other things...that's why i didn't feel insecurities about my complexion...even i believe that dusky/brown skin peoples are more photogenic than others, i think we should increase our inner talent than complexion😍
I am also dusky skin ...and I am well settled girl I am software engineer but my parents are searching groom past 2 year ....but mosty they rejected me reason is dusky skin .... nobody are seeing my carrier job only their priority is girl should be fair.....sometime I feel very bad.....😢
Maybe, before you were suffering from suntan due to exposure to sunlight and now you have removed your suntan totally and now you have got your original skin tone back.
Growing up i was dark complexion, then after puberty i became fair idk how but I can’t forget the things that were said to me , if someone compliments me I don’t get flatter because I always remember that time.
I too have brown colour and I used to hate it but when I started self improvement journey Iand practiced Individuality I realized I found dark skinned people very attractive No I am very happy with it

Skincare is really important. I have been in both side. People called me kaali when i was dark and barbie when i was fair. Now I have uneven tone skin because of acne and acne spots and It's really dropping my own confidence. Do whatever you can to feel confident.
I'm not obsessed with white complexion I'm a brown girl but skin features matters a lot for me..I don't look attractive because of my ugly facial features 😓

Not only dusky skin 🙂 if you are short or too much tall if you are fat or skinny if your face cutting doesn't match the current beauty standard then also people judge. I think everyone should look at the mirror and find their own flaws then talk about others

Yes ,DIY does help to get glowing and healthy skin, Teenagers please take care of your skin with home made cleanser, toner and moisturizer. Use milk cream as cleansing milk on face, rose water , rice water , green tea or tender coconut water as toner and aloevera gel as moisturizer. Do patch test before making it a routine. It will surely help u if it suits you.

Now I've passed my 12 class and 18 i m but at the age of 13-16 I used to criticize for my own skin color thinking why not it's bright why do i look so dull now after giving many competitive exams i just think what a stupidity i was thinking of to become white or whatever instead of wasting time in all those i could have learned something better which would've come to great use today in this high competition era

I'm reading this comment sect for a while and it's saddening to see so many hating their skin colour. I'm so sorry that you had to go through this... I'm not dusky but I do love dusky skin. I know a child who has a darker complexion and whenever I see her smile, she looks like the prettiest flower ever. My grandpa had this skin colour and my mother has too. They are one of the most beautiful human beings for me. I would never want this to be in any other way. I love the way they are. If there are people who are taunting you constantly for your skin colour, why are they in your life? Don't keep friends like that. If it's your relatives, ignore them. If they are parents, tell them and make them understand most Indians have this skin colour and how the way you feel when you hear all these things. Have a chat. It's not your skin, it's the people's mindset.
