Is this really a Japanese manicure? I feel like this is the type of nail art that originated in the Caribbean countries like Jamaica. I know Japanese people love Jamaican culture. Maybe they put more bling on their nails now but I feel like this kind of over the top nail design has been going on for decades on the islands at least since the 80s, Im not old enough to remember how far back. Its the same thing with the multicoloured hair. At one point it was considered trashy and ghetto to have neon colour hair long fake brightly painted nails and now its just a trend that other people are doing like its some newly discovered fad.

Why are some people so negative in the comments. First of, is it bad to like someone's culture? I personally have an interest and love for Korea since I was little. It doesn't make me an obsessed Korea boo. Let people love things without being categorised especially when they don't do things that are insultive, disturbing or out of line. Secondly, she's bubbly and beautiful. Stop calling her names like humpty dumpty or whatever. She's gorgeous. People should learn to be sensitive cause these days everyone just seems to open their mouth to say shit about others so quickly.

*Um, there is absolutely NO difference between "American acrylic" and "Japanese acrylic". Acrylic powder is just that - POWDERED ACRYLIC. No matter what you put with it, if you put it on your nails it will weaken them over time. The comment about "Japanese acrylic preserving the nails" is total b.s....*

She Who Knows All I agree. Honestly putting anything on your nails ruin your nails. Even nail polish. Since nail polish have chemicals in it. It’s just not as bad as powder. The only good thing for your nails are oils. Which can help soften your cuticles.

It's usually ¥10,000-15,000 in Japan, depends if you get swarovski or other expensive parts. Now you know. I used to do my nails like this in Montreal, price was around $150CAD after tax, plus a tip for the technician. Most places in the world that do Japanese nails charge the same (albeit converted to local currency).

Maria, you need to love yourself more! Would you have a go at a friend for pampering herself? No. So why feel you don’t deserve to spoil yourself every now and then? Personally I’d prefer 3 hours in a spa, cos these fabulous nails aren’t practical for ‘mumming’, but I don’t feel bad at ALL having a treat. (Finding the time is my challenge! I need to prioriise better 😂)

did they make it 3 hours on purpose?? I have gotten more detailed work than that done and was never there for more than 2 hrs max!! and is it called japanese manicure because its done by japanese people???
