I don’t know why everyone is so indignant about cutting off the cuticle, I live in Russia and every master here cuts off the cuticle. If a person has completed the course, then everything will be okay. And this is the first time I’ve heard about an infection; I’ve never met a person who had an infection because of this
I've definitely given myself an infection a couple of times doing this at home. That being said I'm not a professional and I don't sterilize my tools frequently because it's only me using them. I think to prevent future issues, I'll have to soak my cuticle trimmers in disinfectant
chill girls, if the person, who is cutting you cuticle, actually took courses on how to do that correctly and if they disinfect everything, you'll be fine, no infection. thousands of russian girls go through it every month and we are all still alive
I’m a licensed nail tech and Yes if everything is done right and cleaned properly they won’t get an infection or fungus from the service but when people leave they can get them
The thing is what they cut is NOT the cuticles, it’s the eponychium & it’s living skin! According to the State Board Laws , we aren’t permitted to cut or trim any living skin. A lot of nail techs have had their license suspended or have been fined for doing so. Stray far from a nail tech who performs illegal services.
@@daniellorenzo3085 she wouldn't let to cut her "living skin" that easily. try to cut your finger, it's not a nice feeling. whatever is off your body cant be considered "living". otherwise skin pilling of your body after you got sunburned would also be considered "living" and so sin could be lawsuitted. cutting cuticle is defo not a crime against humanity, let them manicure girls be.
But… cuticles help protect your fingers from infection 🥲 I had a really sweet nail lady when I was a young teen tell me my cuticles were cute and she didn’t have the heart to cut them and I’ve loved them ever since 😭💛
In Russia, we are all getting this kind of manicure, and instruments are being sterilized (pushers, nails bits and scissors), there is no chance you will be getting the same pack of instruments that were used on previous clients, even nail file is going to be brand new Personally I do manicure for 5 years like this, and I’ve never experienced any infection, it is important to go to an educated person
A professional would understand proper cuticle care would eliminate the need to cut it off because over time they would shrink as you push them down. It’s like shaving your head because your hair got dirty. It’s unnecessary. Medical professionals advise against it. I’ll trust someone with 12+ years of medical school/residency than a nail tech.
@@ImpetuousPorkus Yes!!! Also many unprofessional do that and then the clients are literally bleeding. And even if they used all single use sterilised tools the client lives her life with them open wounds and the next few days bacteria will get in there. So whats the point??? Even if the tools were sterilised you can have infection since the skin is opened, even if they very ”educated”
И ни одного русского коммента. А сейчас русский маникюр становится все популярнее и популярнее за границей. Не бойтесь, сестрички. Все инструменты обязательно стерилизуются. ❤
@@tequilabumbum4373 the cuticle is the dead skin that is adhered to the nail, and needs to be removed in order to properly bond the gel/acrylic to the nail bed. Cutting the skin around the nail is totally unnecessary and mostly only done for cosmetic reasons.
not in western europe! definitely getting more and more popular but it's very hard to find a good nail tech that knows how to do a dry aka russian manicure properly
Not really. There are many different ways to remove(or not remove) cuticles. Some only punch them back, some use a round drill bit, some use a special oil to soften them, some just leave them. This specific method is called a Russian manicure. Just because it’s called that, doesn’t mean it’s not done everywhere.
I live in an area of the US with a high Russian/Eastern European population. I get Russian manicures regularly. I will never stop. I could never go back to not having my cuticles taken care of! 💅🏻
I'm sure it's not the same for everyone, but mine r weak on some nails. I do the housework, and there r some nails that the cuticle is weak and there is mm of space. So I have to wear gloves when it's something bacteria that I'm cleaning. I have had manicures and they make my hands look amazing! But for me, I need the cuticles that I have.
@@hayatimX if you get it done by a professional, like a real one it doesn't hurt, but unfortunately America is far behind with the methods, tools, disinfection and sterilization 😔
Cuticles are the sealant between your nails and your skin, they prevent bacteria and fungus from taking root there. Cutting cuticles actually risks you to infections and is very much similar to the habit of nail biting, in a way. It's healthier to just oil them and push them gently if you want to get your nail polish as close to the base as possible. If you really want to cut it, make sure you're either disinfecting and sanitizing your nippers or going to nail techs who you trust to disinfect their tools after every client PROPERLY.
@Lala Emm Yah, because we're focused mainly on our country. You guys are so aware of other countries because there's a lot of countries around where you are. We mainly have three and big oceans that separates us from others. We judge the world on our reality from what is around us and what we see and you guys judges the world on what is around you and what you see. It's two diffrent viewspoint.
Fun fact? She’s not cutting your cuticles. 🥰 The cuticle is actually that white gunk that’s on your nail plate after they push back your skin, aka the proximal nail fold. I was actually so intrigued when I found that out lol. Love the video, as always! 🤗
@jedrzejowskia every state board has regulations. Customers are paying for a service and potentially harming clients more when doing this by putting them at an increased risk for infection. Just like a surgeon is monitored or a police officer. Who wants experts that aren't being monitored for safety? Just because there are homeless and thieves, that doesn't take away from the fact that every field needs regulations. You're giving a strawman fallacy as an argument and failing to recognize the point.
I love my cuticles. With just a microscopic amount of tlc, they get SO pretty. When I worked retail, my cuticles got effed and were pretty much non-existent, which made my cuticles area so quick to inflame. A year later and they've all grown back, and my cuticle area never gets inflamed. Cuticles are important for your health, and no one can convince me otherwise. I also don't trust anyone to properly disinfect correctly...
You are funny! I have to look at your channel a little more, because you have a very unique way of being witty. Thank you for sharing and making me laugh.
Cuticles are there to protect your skin and prevent any bacteria entering the area where your nail is formed. The cuticle is actually an amazing part and tool of our body ❤❤ x
If cuticles are part of the human body it’s because they have a function. They protect your nails, just like hairs protect your skin among many other functions. This is why removing cuticles regularly during manicures is not advised.
no but fr i stopped cutting my cuticles couple months ago and they went from being crusty and ugly to looking nice i used to have many hangnails that's why i started removing my cuticles but just moisturizing with oil and pushing them back feels so much better
@@Paula-zt9ol idk I was a kid in the 2000s, (maybe it went on longer but I was deep into my scene phase so half-chipped black nails always lol) but people would go so hard pushing in and cutting their cuticles, and then do just clear polish or french tips. Same time period people carried around nail files everywhere. (Which is so weird… thinking back. Nobody needs to file their nails nearly that often lmao.) And you’d end up with pinkish blood trapped in the corners of the polish and everyone knew you just did your nails lmao
Russian manicures are done by professionals and you don’t get them every 2 weeks like a regular manicure. They’re great for people with small nail beds and for people that have been biting their nails forever and are trying to grow them.
@@katbland9149 for real? out of all the content on YT shorts are the least likely thing i'll click on. i'm here for long term stuff, this is not tik tok and it shouldn't be
@@extrasagrada I know that's how some people feel, but there are some of us with short attention spans or who don't have or want too tok that these shorts are perfect for. I've been introduced to a few youtubers that I do end up subscribing to and watching longer videos when I can.
Cuticles are there for a reason because if they cut them then bacteria may set-in hence and infection....plus the more you cut your cuticles the more they grow back. The manicure was absolutely beautiful nevertheless.
Y’all don’t get it, there are many different ways to remove(or not remove) cuticles. Some only punch them back, some use a round drill bit, some use a special oil to soften them, some just leave them. This specific method is called a Russian manicure. Just because it’s called that, doesn’t mean it’s not done everywhere. It’s also very safe if done properly. I’ve had it done every month since I was 12, never once had an infection.
Girls!! Did you notice how many influencers just randomly show a Starbucks coffee out of nowhere?!?!? That happend to me 4 times today!! Like ou of no fkn where.. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Actually what ur nail tech is cutting is not the cuticle. The white dead skin underneath is the cuticle. What most people call the cuticle is actually called the Eponychium which often mistaken for the cuticle Shorter version: White dead skin= Cuticle; Eponychium= the mistaken cuticle ❤
cutting cuticles and the dead skin around the nail is the norm in brazil, infections are minimal when everything is clean also we do it even when we do our nails by ourselves lmao it’s just the way it’s done in many places
Everything she was saying about men has been my issue for years too! No matter how good you are to them no matter how kind you are to them some of them gotta do or say something to upset us…
It's wrong to trash talk ALL men for the sake of the few who have hurt you. Matter of fact, it took a man to bring you into this world. Don't be a worse asshole than those who hurt you
Russian style of manicure cut cuticles. It is getting slow growing nails. it keeps 4 weeks look outstanding. Cuticles help your nails grow up. After 2 weeks with cuticles you need to come back.
Correction: cuticle is the skin stuck on your nails. The little ledge you see above the cuticle is called the nail fold which should not be cut! Which unfortunately is mistaken for the cuticle which is always cut. Which may cause further damage and problems. 🫤
