Abundance mindset. Does it work or is it a load of bull? I tried it out on a smaller scale to find out.

I always find myself watching your videos, because I resonate with your frugality and ability to make topics about self worth and employment, selfself-fulfilling. I’m not entirely self-employed but I am 60% self-employed because life in the US is very expensive. I could literally just go to Mexico and support an entire family from my music of work but my whole family is in the United States. I watch your videos for inspiration of how life could be, if I was entirely supported just by, RU-vid, which is a huge part of my income as well.

Great vid! It’s definitely better to have a scarcity mindset as your base and try to introduce abundance into your life than the other way around!

I read somewhere that money is an energy that is constantly flowing and in motion. By fearing that it may stop flowing to you, or hoarding so it can't flow to others, you are left out of the natural rhythm of affluence.
@BeatTheBush

Some have the capacity to flow ALL of it which is why they're so rich. Lol.

This also applies to knowledge. Many people in the workplace are apprehensive about teaching others what they know because they fear that they’ll be replaced. This comes from a place of insecurity.

The Financial Diet made a great video about this and how frugality can be a trauma response that holds us back many decades after we’ve made it out of poverty. It’s a somewhat tragic fact of life, but you can overcome it.

The easiest person to start having an abundance mentality with is yourself. Don’t go the toxic route of “I treat myself to expensive dinners I can’t afford every night because I deserve it.” Invest in yourself smartly: your health, development of skills that will help you succeed, that kind of thing. And don’t be stingy about it. Hard to be generous with others if you can’t even be generous with yourself.

As a first generation here who grew up in a low income household with both parents working at fast foods. This one i can 100% relate to i would all ways try to save a penny on anything or buy normal things as investments. I think there is some huge advantage to it obviously knowing whats really a necessity. But the negative side to it is alot of times the quality of life could be crap lol cause we tend to put ourselves in this bubble.
@tikoy1955

Truly a fascinating subject - and really interesting to see this tackled by someone who carefully tests things in a methodical way. My anecdotal experience has been that when I took on an abundance mindset (in particular, supporting certain people, supporting creators, srtists, etc) it did change my psychology. For what it's worth, I believe they my life has only gotten progressively more comfortable. It really does seem like life "takes care of me" and abundance does return to me, but almost never in a Newtonian A > B > C way. It is usually in more synchronistic fashions, sometimes in wonderful ways. The key, in my opinion, is not to consider gain. The joy of giving and the sense of "All is well. I'm OK, and even if I become dead broke, things will be OK." If you only think about it logically but you are not emotionally and hormonally aligned (stress, fear, etc stifle abundance) then it won't work, as you point to. Great video! Thanks.
@_arman_
@_arman_ 5 месяцев назад
And to clarify, I don't mean anyone should just give away all their money. One should pay attention to their means, have a safety net, etc - but after that, the work is to let go the emotional imprint (programming) of lack/scarcity.

I think when you embrace this mentality, your luck improves. If you try more times, your luck improves. Might be superstitious but it appears to work.

Your refering to your Florida mentor. I like to think few people are capable of being very generous w no strings but most have no bottom to get an edge like gossiping, forming cliques. Often its the honest ones just trying to do their jobs and stay out of mischief who are seen as outliers

At first I thought you lost your mind. One can certainly spend money and never see it again. It's not guaranteed that it will ever come back to you. But when you explained further, it's really more like investing than anything and that I totally agree with that you likely will see that money and more back.

I am sure where I am (scarcity vs abundance) since as a Christian, no matter how much I get, I tithe and also give love offerings. I do save and am frugal but at the same time, I also know what we should spend money when needed like helping those we can help. Sometimes, I also indulge a bit. Anyway, so far I hold on to God's promise that if I tithe at the very least, He will take care of me despite what is happening worldwide. So far, I have seen how God has indeed taken care of my financial issues when needed (especially during the Covid hysteria). He does provide. However, it does not mean that God wants us to spend frivolously since there a lot of advice about money in the Bible.

Btw, gamblers, who have the mindset that they will always win and win big if they are bold enough and are not afraid to take risks with their money, can be seen as having an abundance mindset.

Spent $5,000 on camera equipment but still doesn’t understand the concept of too much headroom when framing a shot. Get a used book on videography or cinematography for $10. The 5 C’s of Cinematography is a decent place to start. You can skip much of it.
