Truly, he isn't exaggerating! Food/restaurants are especially affordable on Okinawa Island. And healthier, too. You will not find anything as terribly sweet as our desserts here or any soda pop by the liter. I only found Coke in small cans or small bottles. Supermarkets offer a wide variety of unsweetened tea or coffee in liters that cost a fifth of the price here in the States. It's crazy!
@@Gilvids Malaysia's mcd has fried chicken with rice too, basically our national dish nasi lemak served with spicy fried chicken. Their chicken is waaaaaay better than the sad thing kfc calls fried chicken
Got to try Japan. Last time I had McDonald's overseas was at HongKong and was 13 that was the first time back, before I move to NC permanently and I was like 6 at that time. I had Hong Kong McDonald's again for the first time in 7years when I eat 13 and it was so good, since it was made with fresh fish.
i gotta tell u that japanese McDonalds is awful. the bread is sweet, the cheese and bacon is just weird. The nuggets arent crispy as well as the fries. btw u can only choose between a sweeter bbq sauce and not spicy mustard sauce for ur nuggies. I live here since 7 month now and never witnessed someone from Germany(my home) or any americans that enjoyed it. Japan has the one of the best cuisines, the best beef and Sushi in the world and the highest food quality ( u can eat Chicken sashimi here (raw chicken)) but their fast food is shit
No, because their prices would rise at that rate too. How are they going to charge 50¢ a nugg? $2 for a 4 piece, can't imagine how much these things would cost

They’re a multibillion dollar company that makes billions in *profit* every year, they don’t *have* to raise prices to bring anything new to the menu. They will find any excuse to raise prices on customers while cutting as many corners as possible and using the profits we give them to lobby for less regulation. This isn’t a mum and pop’s shop we’re talking about here, blame them all the way to the moon and back.

I tried looking it up, but I knew it would come up empty seeing as Japan actually has some of the highest standards for food and drink, according to many global food indexes. I’m really curious where such misinformation comes from, besides blatant jealousy and ignorance, probably the same conservative states where the food is actually indistinguishable from plastic and they can legally hide their cancer disclaimers from the public, but go off my non traveling american sis.
What amazes me is that anywhere but the US they've made our fast-food chains amazing. One time we had Japanese exchange students in college, and I knew what a big deal KFC was over there, and they wanted to go because this was the land of origin, right? I told the: "You're going to be disappointed." But we went, and it was sad.
the thing with fast food in asia is that they actually have to put some effort in because of all the competition and higher standards compared to north america.
I never really believed that, living in South Asia (India and the Middle East), until friends went to study in the US, and just said, 'The fast food is sad there.' But it's a cheap option for people who can't spend on food. Here, in this part of the world, there is tastier food for far less money, and McDonald's has to fight with them to be a relevant choice. Mcd's isn't even all that cheap, you get better fast food in cafes for less. _And_ they gotta cater to local tastes. In Vietnam, they drove the bloody franchise out of town. Just 3 stores in a whole country. xDDD
I've been jealous of that menu for a long time now. I think it was Shomin Sample that pointed out the menu. That's when I learned how amazing it looked. Honestly I don't eat at McDonald's in the US but I would definitely try Japan's
not really some of Japan food are raw like sushi and half cooked omelette so people like me who have never eaten raw egg and meat it's extremely weird 😅
I was in Tokyo last week. And yes McDonald's there is the bomb. In fact you could blindly walk down the street and eat from a random store and food would taste good.
McDonalds in Japan is cleaner, healthier, and actually looks like the menu. Unlike in other countries and I can say for a fact that Japan refines these fast food restaurants. They make them the best they could be.
I think the craziest things about McDonald's in Japan is that the food looks like the picture, is filling, cheap, and the workers don't hate their lives.
Here in Germany we also have theese kind of deserts at our McDonald's. There are so many types: Cherry-Vanilia, Oreo, of course Apple, Chocolate and many more

When I was on a school trip to Canberra (Australia) we had a pit-stop at Maccas (MacDonalds) and I saw this thing called a Crème Brulee Pie, I didn’t know if it was only there but I tried and and it was AMAZING 🤩 but when I went back to Sydney it wasn’t on the menu and I’ve never been able to go back to Canberra to test out if it was just a limited time menu, but if it’s still there then Y’ALL TRY IT CUZ IT’S THE DEFINITION OF PARADISE!
The Yakuza gane series has made me CRAVE visiting Japan for the foodie culture. As I've gotten older I've wanted to go for several reasons (cultural, social, etc etc..) bit the foodie stuff is still high on the list
I think they have the what you called "oreo cookie" in Malaysia and Singapore, I'm visiting Singapore soon and I'll check. I have actually gotten it in Kuala Lumpur but I haven't actually tried the same one in Singapore.
Actually, the fact that the US dollar has such high buying power abroad is evidence that we have a relatively strong economy compared to Japan. Go to the poorest countries in the world, and $15 will buy you even more. A _lot_ more. That doesn't mean their economies are stronger than ours; far from it.
It is because no matter how much the price increase with garbage quality, nor it never launches new products. I still see a long line at drive through all the time with a long receipts. Mac rib is so popular but it serves as seasonal item. American customers still accept its nausy job. 🤑💩👍
Used to live in Japan because my dad was in the Navy. Those Oreo dessert things (can't even be fucked with to remember what they were called) were absolutely the best dessert you could get from a fast food joint.

A fellow asian here, I think it's great for Westerners to look into food safety and ingredients here in Korea and Japan! Subway in these two country is always clean! Ice Cream works! Frozen Drinks works too! They have there own custom menu! It's healthier and better! Try Korean KFC!
I believe the chocolate pie is a adult chocolate pie in Japan a limited item meaning that the pie is Not as sweet and more bitter taste to taste the cocoa flavor

In the part where there is Japanese written on the package and says he can't understand it, it actually says とろけるホットパイ (Melting hot pie), nothing special written in it
Try noko fuwatoro tsukimi . The buns are fluffy and it's too good . My personal favourite is Broiled Soy Sauce Style Double Thick Beef Burgers . The beef flavour is enchanted by soy sauce .
Also y’all should see the McDonald in Srilanka it’s a scam bigger than those call centers xD the chicken nuggets(6pcs) cost just as much as a burger.. and the burger is only 200 or so more (our currency) but then again… they are HELLA expensive (2000lkr avg, and the menu is the default things u get in any damn restaurant… we don’t even have Oreo McFlurry anymore… it’s just the choco chips) We used to have apple pies… not anymore 😅 I want that pop tart so baddd

McDonald's in Brisbane Australia is the grossest I've tasted and smelt in 5 different countries. But the food in general here makes famine rations taste like gourmet
Growing up i would always get corn soup something that in general isn't even a thing in America which is insane to me because corn is such a massive agricultural product in the US.
