Bro I sometimes watch Ben when I’m drunk or just mad baked… and that shi scared me and took me off guard but it also somewhat didn’t surprise me😂 I literally had to play it back real quick too check if I wasn’t tripping 😔😂
But I actually think this is genius because I also have made the experience that McDonalds can be slightly different in other countries. Now there will always be fries and Cheeseburgers but as we see in this video, they also have different items on the menu
Saw this video posted around midnight while hungry. I promptly hopped in my car, grabbed McDonald's, and patiently drove it back so I could enjoy it while watching this. 10/10 worth it
you know I did this before and it was great yes, but it was also 20 bucks and not really necessary...I love watching Ben but his content is not exactly a good influence :D
When I went to Japan back in May, they had one piece chicken burgers which were so good! I wanted to order the whole menu because their food is so much different from the states. Definitely better in flavor and variety.
The fact Ive been watching you since your hang over pizza video, and you havent change a bit is crazy. I used to watch you in highschool and now Im in my last year in college. Thanks for the content!
probably less salt than American fries also Im guessing. That probably has a something to do with it. we dont notice it cuz diabetic america.. jus sayin..
I like how you actually take a real, multiple bite “bite” to actually get a good read on what you’re eating. Literally nobody does that on a first bite in food reviews.
Its the cooking oil I used to work at a refinery, In America Mcdonalds uses Palm oil and in Japan they like to use coconut oil its supposed to be healthier and clear without color. but speaking from experience carbon black is used to filter out the color and carbon black is also used to make tires.
I'm amazed by how nice the bags look. Every time I get McDonald's here in the U.S., the bags are drenched in grease, crumpled/torn, and generally look bad. Those look so clean and in good shape!
Melon soda Ben, Melon Soda. Never get Coke in Japan, unless it’s Coke Clear!! Make sure you go to Wendy’s Japan aswell, and get the spicy ramen at ippudo in Shibya, go to the local Chinese places aswell, they have some good food and great prices. Edit: it has to be ippudo in Shibya. It’s a special Ippudo and no others, to my knowledge (I’ve been to many others), sell the spicy ramen.
@@Moi_81 Wendy’s is the spot when you want some Western style fast food when you’re in Japan. They have all the sauces aswell that you can’t find elsewhere in Japan. Yeah I did that too. Some places you can get Asashi Beer Slushys by the tap. They were really good. But on the daily it’s all about the melon, grape, calpis sodas. I had some good times drinking those.
You seem in good spirits. I did watch that “fail” vid of youre. Of course youre your own biggest critic But I appreciate the honesty. Its interesting to see behind the scenes and how much work it takes Are ya gonna do omakase…? Omurice…? Looking forward to whatever you do in Japan. Have fun
I don't know about cameras, but you did look more handsome with the second backup camera. Anyway, I really appreciate when you act real chill and just say what's on your mind. You seem too stressed when you've filmed from Korea the past ten years. Before then, much more relaxed.
I love Ben pronouncing マクドナルド in a Korean accent at the beginning haha. Could have said it in an American accent, or a more Japanese-sounding accent, but nope he ended up going full Korean there. I'm gonna assume it wasn't intentional but it was pretty funny and interesting to hear.
I can speak Korean and a little bit of Japanese and that was definitely not even close to a Korean accent. The Japanese say it as "ma ku do na ru do" whereas the Koreans say it as "mek do nal deu". That was 100% a Japanese accent
@@beastinfection638 I think you're confused about what I was saying. I wasn't saying "it sounds like he's saying McDonalds in Korean," I was saying it sounds like he's saying the Japanese pronunciation of McDonalds but couldn't help but do it in a Korean accent. To me it sounded more like he was saying 막그도나르도 and not マクドナルド. Coincidentally I'm the inverse of you where I speak Japanese at an advanced level and upper-beginner level of Korean I can say without a doubt that did NOT sound like a regular Japanese accent. It sounded like a Korean person trying to speak Japanese.
@@saitodosan9377 dude. you clearly are backtracking and changing your words. of course it doesn't sound like a perfect japanese accent cause he aint japanese, he's korean. so you would be right if you said that. but your original comment said he sounded FULL korean. Thats so wrong. his accent wasnt perfect japanese accent, but it was even farther from a korean accent. Koreans say 맥도날드, which sounds like Mek Do Nal Deu. 막그도나르도 sounds WAY closer to Japanese accent than Korean. I just dont like that you cant even speak Korean yet you're saying that it sounds full Korean? No. It doesnt at all. EDIT: btw im Korean so i know what im talkin about
@@beastinfection638 He's American living in Korea and didn't speak a word of Korean until after moving there if we're being technical about it. Once again though, I'M NOT SAYING IT SOUNDS LIKE HE WAS SPEAKING KOREAN. I was saying HE SOUNDS LIKE A KOREAN SPEAKER TRYING TO SPEAK JAPANESE. 막그도나르도 sounds closer to Japanese than Korean but it sure as fuck doesn't sound like natural Japanese. I'm not gonna get into a pissing match over my level of Japanese/Korean knowledge. I'm not claiming to be a Korean expert or anything. I can read/write it, and maybe understand like 10% of what I read and hear without subtitles. I'm very much a beginner. I'm just making what I thought was a funny conversation about how he's an American trying to say a Japanese (loan) word but he busted out a more "Korean speaker pronouncing a Japanese word" type of accent, instead of an "American trying to say a Japanese word" type of accent. I see what you're saying, but you're arguing about something I never even said. I'm pretty sure you're mixing up "speaking in a Korean accent" and "speaking Korean" here and that's where this argument and miscommunication is stemming from.
@@saitodosan9377 Okay, buddy. Let me get one thing straight. He is KOREAN. Ethnicity is different than nationality. Yes, he was raised in America, and his nationality might be American, but when it comes to homogenous isolated peoples like Koreans or Japanese, ethnicity is ALSO a very big part of identity. Westerners will never understand this concept. His heritage is Korean, and all of his ancestors have lived in Korea for THOUSANDS of years. You are entirely disregarding his deep connection to his culture and heritage, which is incredibly rude in my opinion. Many Korean Americans still identify strongly with their korean roots and culture. And they dont want you to disregard all that just because they were raised in America. thats not respectful at all. You can call him Korean American, but do not call him just "American." Ps, he was born in Korea. anyway, it seems you're mad cause you got caught backtracking. You literally said in your original comment that he sounds FULL korean and NOT japanese. And now you're saying that it sounded closer to Japanese. Thats the definition of backtracking. You worded your comment wrong. Dont blame me for misinterpreting.
Why am I still watching and addicted to these videos where McDonalds is being reviewed as if it were Masterchef, commentary varies from inane to such insights as “wow”, “deep” and solid, and in order to properly appreciate the burger you have to eat half in 1 second…. 😂😂😂
Wow! The teriyaki chicken looks good. Would like to try that but without mayo. Shrimp burger sounds and looks good but that paste is super thick. Thanks for sharing! ~J. Bunny
Great video Ben 😂 the ghost lady, I'm mixed Japanese Korean Mexican Germany French, Spanish and African American. My great great great grandma was a geisha. And I can't wait to go to Japan too one day. ❤
@@WineHouse33 we've got Mr. Algorithm Expert here damn. All I did was suggested something. Chill. There's more than 1000 locations in Japan, and he IS in Japan. Would totally make sense for him to try a Japanese fast food chain restaurant.
Ben is a genius putting the ring lady in here bc hes boosting the engagement on his video by making everyone comment which gets him more views and in turn more money lol
I remember stopping at a McDonald's in Okinawa about 15 years ago and had the McEbi, as it was known at the time. I really liked it, but thought both the fries and the ketchup tasted a little different than what you'd get in the U.S (the fries being more starchy, and the ketchup being both thicker and more sweet).
I had McDonald's a couple of times while i was in italy last year and the fries def tasted more healthy like just fried potatoes and a little bit of salt. I prefer the unhealthy American fries lol😂
When I watch you eat all those delicious foods and they way you talk about them, you make me damn hungry. Are you a chef by trade because you seem very knowledgeable about food?
