I TRIED INCREDIBLE FOOD IN TOGO | MOST POPULAR LOCAL DISH IN TOGO, AFRICA
As you guys know I have been exploring Togo as part of my adventures around Africa.
Sogbossito, TOGO - Today we are in the town of Sogbositto. We will be cooking Togolese Fufu and soup.
The fufu is made from Yam, and the soup is made from vegetables like tomatoes, garden eggs, bell pepper etc. As well as a lot of spices like fennel, rosemary and. anise seed. This is one of the most popular dishes around West Africa. The soup can be made from any protein of choice, chicken, fish or any kind of red meat.
Fufu is eaten in other African countries such as Nigeria and Ghana.
The flavours of the fufu dish I tried in Togo is quite similar to what I have had in Ghana.

My name is Jasmine and I have relocated from Sydney Australia to Ghana in west Africa as of the year 2020.
My parents are of Ghanaian descent and so am I although I was born in Australia. Here on my channel, my goal is to give you a real glimpse into what it’s like to live in Ghana, from the Ghanaian food, to the Ghanaian culture, to the Ghanaian lifestyle and everything in between. My goal is to satisfy your curiosity about Ghana and help inspire to explore Ghana.
My prayer is that these videos do just that for several African’s in the diaspora.
Follow your bliss because life is short, follow your bliss because human life has no intrinsic value, follow your bliss because everything happens for the greater good and follow your bliss because it has all happened before.

It really makes sense that the lady is a Cameroonian because, she wasn’t defending Togo 🇹🇬 at all, she pretty much agreed to whatever u said about Togo, lol…was kinda surprised but I get it now!!! It would have been more fair and fun if u were hosted by a 100% Togolese thou. I was expecting banku and okra soup/stew because, it seems that’s their signature food.

@@JasmineAmaa Jasmine i also think you need another host who can take you to some real places because people will only take you places based on their lifestyle. As you can see i am not talking down in your host but her lifestyle is as the very everyday local and there are activities and places she doesn't do and also take part and also she has a young child that she seems not to get help with mostly to take you places. This is why i think you aren't enjoying Togo very much. Also you cannot compare Togo to Ghana because they are two completely different system of government. Ghana has its own bank which is bank of Ghana but all the francophone African countries like Togo do not habe their own bank they use the French CFA and their money is controlled by france and also when they need their money france lends their own money they keep for them back to them with interest for them to pay. This is why most of these countries are under developed. Also they have a duty free port in Togo and Ghana doesn't so they do not pay for import duty like we do in Ghana this is why things are more cheaper in Togo and in Ghana more expensive. So i think its not best to be judging or comparing both countries because they all are unique in their own ways. We used to have this grinding stone when i was a child in my home. Your host sounds more like a Nigerian or Cameroonian than a togolese from her accent. They have good places to chill in Togo. Its not do mediocre as you think.

I think the difference between Mz Dru TV and Jasmine is that Mz Dru has very good Technique approaching the indigenous people to showcase their true culture and her content are very authentic. Maybe Jasmine needs to learn from her. Togelese food should be from the Togelese people to taste and even learn how they cook their food. Your friend is a Cameroonian she herself is yet to learn the local food.

There is too much “we are different from them” mentality please! Same race, same languages, same customs, same ingredients. The differences are nuances!

Very interesting. I enjoy cooking outside, even in America. The USVI cooking outside is so much fun also . The Caribbean Sea salty smell is wonderful to cook food. In Nigeria what I've experienced is the soups and stews are peppery, yet delicious. I've tasted Ghanaian foods, but they are different ( in my opinion) than Nigeria. My favorite African food is EGUSI. Upon all I've experienced, Nigerian foods, Southern American Foods, and West Indian Caribbean foods are thee best to me. Upon all, foods take ingredients, love, and patience. Thank you for sharing this experience! All praises to the Most High who lives and reigns forever Amen.

@@dinahbarendes9119 Are you defending eating cat then? Can't believe this, that awful and disgusting sorry. Cats are pets, should be pets there are many other sources of protein out there....

@@suntanglory maybe cats are pets to you just as chickens, cow or even insects can be pets to someone else so keep your moral lessons to yourself.

@@dinahbarendes9119 That's no moral lesson, l just don't think it's healthy or ethical. I don't even have cats yet l feel the awfulness of eating a cat. A fillet of beef is probably bigger than a whole cat,go out and have a whole cow to yourself, why take such life for such little benefit or satisfaction? Not everything our forefathers did was right, it's our turn to educate and enlighten ourselves for a change in society not just follow along because that's how it's been done. Thanks.
