imagine having hundreds of laps on Nurburgring, years of experience on the track, 30k rig and still being beaten by a guy with a wheel in his bedroom, living in a shed, with a haircut from a 90s boy band. Right in the feels.

Motion needs to be paired with vr imo then the immersiveness is off the charts

I have started with a 180 degree wheel in AC1 with an old laptop running medium settings. Sim racing helped me so much mentally. Next year I'm upgrading the wheel 😊

Good fun Jimmy. If you like the Celica, maybe a nice event to visit is the eifel rallye festival in Daun. That is 30-40 minutes away from the nurburgring and full of group b, group a cars. Even this exact celica is there.

Street legal kits within german rules? That is serious engineering in itself! (Also, lightweight camera nerd here, with such bright backgrounds (like when introducing Misha) if you can get a key light or a bounce board as part of your camera operator's kit it might just help us see y'all's faces a bit better! At least for the more "studio" feeling stuff, probably don't try dragging a load of stuff around the pit lane at tracks) Also, love Misha's point around 8:30, like the 2016->2024 transformation is fuckin huge. Still working out wtf my dream is but it's nice to know it's possible 😅

Adding motion to a simrig, however small, brings so much immersion. I added a DOFreality M2 seatmover to my Playseat Revolution and I couldn't do without it...

Jimbo have u ever considered bass shakers. They don’t compare to a $30,000 motion rig but. They do add some very good immersion if set up right. I’m running the slip angle 6 channel 4 corner kit and it’s amazing. It even works with GT7. Just an idea

In VR in most sims there is a setting which lets you lock the view to horizon (and the strength can differ, in most cases 0~100%). This kinda makes the car move "on its own" regarding to the camera. AC is quite moddable, doing a similar thing based on the G-forces might be doable. Then the virtual cockpit could be synced to the movement of the physical one.

That looks like a cool rig! Is there a reason why the side monitors are in such a wide angle?

A judd would be absolutely awesome.. but a kseries (properly) supercharged will be fast and controlable for a fraction of the price, and if it breaks you can get parts more easy etc. Still love the idea of a judd around ns 😍

My point about the TVs being mounted is.. would you do a really stage with the tv in the boot. TVs can cost a lot of money and not sure it is best to shake them lots like you was doing a rally stage.

Just to chime in on the whole motion with integrated monitor stand... Yes I agree it works better but what we have found over the years is that motion has a tendancy to shake the bolts loose and over time wear out the fixings so that is why i would imagine a standalone monitor stand is used. I would have been the same kind of skeptic of motion as Misha so this brand is very interesting to me!

The onscreen motion should match the rig, so you wouldnt need the monitors to move. If your monitors are large enough, you wont notice because the motion onscreen will sell it to your brain.

I have had a sfx for 3000 hours and now 9000 USD Qubic actuators and while they are better, its absurd to say motion rigs move you about. a well tuned SFX can be very smooth and not over the top.

Aslong as the horizon & camera bounces around with the motion should be ok

The movement of the car in the game is why you dont need the monitors mounted to the motion rig. If you had them mounted to the motion, then the whole track would move up and down...which obviously doesnt happen.

Has @mgcharoudin ever driven a mk4 supra on the ring? I checked his channel and could only see him as a passenger in one. Maybe you need to bring down scuffy next time, seems like Misha should drive it since it was basically made to be a Nurburgring car.

I wonder what the idea is behind 3 big expensive monitors vs a VR headset. The sense of speed on a screen just isnt there on a screen like it is in VR and the price is much less when considering whats being spent on 3 of those monitors... feels like a flex at this point as opposed to going for realism, which is odd considering its a motion rig.
