Out of curiosity I decided to try out the Ketogenic (low carb, high fat) diet to see if it worked and would make you lose weight crazy fast. What I found was... I am pretty bad at diets.

@@linkesocke4533 Only if you're in a bigger city (try to find vegan products in a small town, even if they have Rewe/Aldi/Lidl etc, the Aldi in my hometown didn't have vegan milk until half a year ago and now it's also just Soy milk) and it's still an extremely small selection if you compare it to our neighbor countries. I was in netherlands a while ago and they have SO MUCH vegan stuff and not just half a shelf.

I've been doing a light Keto diet for most of my life (before it was an actual diet really) due to health issues that limit what i can eat. the key is, you have to exercise. Doesnt matter what you eat really as long as you exercise. My primary diet is pork, chicken, VERY limited amounts of Beef, lots of Venison (deer meat) and more potatoes and onions than you can throw an Irishman at,

I’m currently about five days into the Keto diet and it’s honestly fine for me. I don’t know if I’ve lost any weight, but I’ve never had a huge appetite so most of the time I just eat one low carb meal and one zero or no carb snack a day and I’m good to go. With the way my body works, this diet is fine for me and I’m really hoping it works out.

Eat more??? I mean not twice as much but like.... I dunno just eat a bit more every time until you get to a healthy level. Eating very little to the point where a diet can kill you is very bad. I don not know how you aren't tired all day every day, maybe you're just used to it, but air molecules don't carry nearly as much energy as food. Plus eating is a very enjoyable activity.

Even if it's them not being hungry, people are so much less likely to eat when they aren't hungry. There also could be a medical reason that messes with their brain, like, you get the idea, I know you want to help, but I don't know how helpful your advice is, and it's not really advice. I could be wrong, I'm tired, I've been weirdly tired all day, I'm stupid, I don't know shit about this, I'm just using my own very flawed logic.

I felt ill just after christmas 2018 (so like, a year and a half ago) so, I went on a Ketogenic inspired diet. Cut down on things like bread, no sugar in my tea, no chocolate etc. In short, instead of no carb and high fat... just less carbs and more fat. I ended up losing a stone and a half. Pretty much the only real side effect is that, while having sugar in my tea, I'd end up emptying the mug every time, but when I stopped putting sugar in, it mostly just ends up sitting there, and I end up pouring half of it away because after sitting there 2 hours it's cold. I'm mostly still just on the diet, but, I couldn't live without pasta. Note: I'm in england.

Had a girlfriend following the Keto-diet. We also had the difficulty when going on dates to find places that provided keto-friendly meals. One way we got around the situation, was to request only parts of the meal served. For example, not to serve the accompanying side-dish of fries (/chips), or me taking her portion of fries (and/or un-keto food items) whilst I ordered a smaller dish from the menu, that worked most of the time. However, there was also the additional dietary consideration that she did not eat any red meat due to medical reasons. So, you can imagine the sheer amount of calculations, meal deconstructive analysis and planning whilst on a date.

I remember during a college class I had to do something to change my life for the better for 30 days and then do a report on it. At first I decided not to eat any processed or prepackaged food, but two things got in the way of that. First, doing that would actually end up inconveniencing my family more than myself; and two, I have way too strong of an appetite to pull that off. On day one of this challenge I ate three bananas and five apples before I called my professor and asked her if I could just run for half an hour a day instead. The instant I got the email that I was allowed to change I went downstairs and ate five slices of pizza.

My hubby and I tried it for a week, and even when choosing carefully to keep it cheap, keto is kinda expensive. We gave up cus we don’t have 60$ to drop on meat and cheese each week and our poor chickens can’t produce 50 eggs a week (they are fed all natural food and have a whole acre to roam freely and forage, plus there’s only like 20 of them, only five to seven will lay eggs.)

I only eat twice a day, it's not so bad once your basal metabolic rate is low once you reach low weight, it's ridiculous how even just eggs, cheese, and keto bread which is basically all I eat somehow still burns alot of my money

All the foods you like have carbs, all the healthy food like broccoli or beans have carbs, your dna has carbs, you have a taste resptor for sugars (a kind of carb), we base our societies off carbs like rice, wheat, yams, potatoes, sougum, rye ect., your liver can make carbs if you don't have enough, you lack taste resptors for fats or protein unlike bears or lions and most find grease unapiting but we love fruit. It's almost like ketosis is a state of desperate starvation, bacon is class 1 carcinogen and red meat a group 2a.

Chip, if you're having trouble with comfort eating, you could try comfort drinking (NOT alcohol)what I mean is if you feel like comfort eating then just drink lots of water until you are full so you never eat any ice cream. It's what I did :3

My brother went on a keto diet when he was 11-12 because for some unexplainable reason, the doctors thought it would help his epilepsy (spoiler alert, it made it worse) and now he can basically eat anything and enjoy it just because he's glad he's off the diet

i feel the whole “theres carbs in everything” thing. im a type one diabetic so i have to watch all of my carbs or else ill literally die 😂 low carb is a better option as i can eat more (even if i still have to jab a needle into my skin to eat more than 5 carbs. and thats not an exaggeration either 😂) i had high protien levels awhile ago but since ive become a vegetarian thats been alot easier to handle since im not eating anymore meat. overall i get the struggle though 😂

I started eating reduced carbs because it makes things tastier and more flavorful... if you really think about it hard enough, pasta/bread/rice/potatoes on their own taste alright, but they're very bland! I kinda just started reducing the size of my grain portions and eating more, very flavorful, meat and veggies (for example, roasted carrot with peas is much better than roasted potato because it tastes like something not nothing). TLDR: my realization was that vegetable oil and carbs have no flavor or aroma and just taste caloric, while foods with more unique flavor to them taste amazing, especially with herbs and spices.
