I only heard about this game because the devs kicked the hornets nest in trying to defend the decision to make the game an Epic Games Store exclusive

The second worst thing about ooblets that the dev's aren't planning on bringing it to the switch (for now). I honestly think it'd be a perfect fit!

I thought this video was about Temtem when I saw the thumbnail, and I've heard of this game before.

The only reason I even knew of this game was because of the developer's sniddy remark to backers about making this game an Epic Games exclusive. That immediately turned me off from the game.

Didnt the creators attack people who didnt like how they were going exclusive when they were originally not going to be EGS exclusive?

i'll buy this game when it comes out early access and gets a switch port, i'm not touching it on the epic store

I'll admit I would be willing to do things for that "Stop thinking of embarrassing things you did" potion that would require me to drink another one ten years later. Having intrusive thoughts is no joke man, I love the idea of that potion so much.

The only sim game to ever stress me out like that, which I've recently been continuing after years of forgetting about it, is harvest moon tale of 2 towns. Man do I love that game!

As much as I like Ooblets the game content and art style. The fact that the devs tried to defend/explain themselves being epic exclusive in the most condencending way. . . is not how you support your backers.

This sounds like me big time. In stardew valley I get burnt out from retrying the same day over and over again because none of my tries are perfect.

I remember watching this video when it was new. Now, 3 years later, I came back to it. Why? My local library had a physical copy of Ooblets for Switch, and I borrowed it. And now I breathe Ooblets.

I feel you on the gleamy spawns! I got the game the first day Renae streamed it and have not found a single one. Not sure if im really unlucky or if shes just blessed haha

I've been loosely following the dev of this game since 2017 or 2018, I gotta say I'm floored by how much game is already here in early access. My head was spinning from following your min-max journey in the earliest days of early access, it's amazing to see how far they've come.

While I respect your decision to do this, JWittz, I really won't support this game, due to the manner the game devs acted when they decided to go Epic Store exclusive. Instead of calmly explaining why it was beneficial for them as indie devs to go exclusive, they derided and condescended critics, and have continued to do so, even after the announcement I'd recommend, viewers, to do your own research about this game's history before forming an opinion, but to give you an idea, one of the questions on their discord was asking how they'd be able to purchase the game if the Epic Store didn't support their regional currency. One of the devs responded with 'You'll have to wait I guess! No one owes you the game.' They deflected a question about availability by regarding it as entitlement This may be a few devs going rogue, but a lot about the games history shows a record of unprofessionalism and condescension. I personally won't be supporting the game, and I advise anyone to think about this kind of baggage before doing so themselves. I don't condemn your coverage, Josh, but this info should be out there

Ah, this is the game who's devs decided to take a corporate payout to make it an exclusive to EGS despite the fact they were taking fan donations to make the game and promised them it would be on Steam, and when the fans complained, berated them and called them entitled. A lovely game made by lovely people.
