This was way more popular on both stream and here than I expected ahahah, thanks for watching all! To clear up some stuff that Twitch chat suggested a lot that didn't make it into the video, which the RU-vid comments are now suggesting a lot: A DYOM mission wouldn't be able to restrict car usage, you'd always be able to take the police's cars, and you wouldn't have infinite sprint. The cheat code everyone remembers as "Lock Wanted Level" actually puts your wanted level to 0 permanently, regardless of if you have it high before or try to cheat it higher after activating it (at least on PC, I haven't tried on PS2)
If a next time will ever happen, I'd like to see a circuit from Grove back to Grove and reaching landmarks in each region, like the Caligula's in LV, AREA 69, The Boat School, Wuzi's place, Mt. Chilliad, the place where Tenpenny leaves you after LS, the LS Tower and back to Grove. I guess you could use something like a mod menu to force the 6* instead of 5 though if it makes a difference. Also it would be nice to try this with a bycicle as it's the only vehicle that can't blow up, whilst still being able to receive damage (and I assume the bike accuracy glitch doesn't work with bycicles, right?)
the most you could probably do is use the "No Cars/Peds" option in DYOM and make a mission with that and the minimum/maximum wanted level of 6 stars; would be a botched solution, but you will never have any cars spawn and the cops would be around you, with the 6 stars never disappearing, unlike the vanilla game
I actually remember this cheat code as "Set Wanted Level To Zero And Lock It", and was a little confused why people in the chat kept suggesting it. It's interesting why Rockstar suddenly decided to change this cheat code as they were porting the game to PC.
@@1thevm1 I mean I know that it is a dead joke at this point and he really won't touch the series again due to the scope. But I genuinely did enjoy it the most out of any of His stuff. I only watch His DYOM and geoguesser videos now. I remember when the first damn video in the series was uploaded ffs xd He aborted the idea baby... Edit- Jesus fckn Christ. It has been 6 years since the start of 100%+ and 4 years since the Last episode... I was 19 when he started it. Damn...
Josh when doing DYOM missions that require him to go from San Fierro all the way to Grove Street by car: What the heeeeeell?! Oh my god, no way-y-y! Josh when doing a random challenge from 2005 that requires him to go from area 69, crossing the badlands AND San Fierro, all the way to Grove Street… ON FOOT: You son of a bitch! I’m in!
5 stars is more dangerous than 6 tbh. With 6 you get a tank that does the same damage any car would do if it runs you over. And it only has one person inside. Then you get the barracks with 2. Meanwhile the fbi cars have 4 people each armed with rapid firing smgs that can screw you up instantly. And more often than not they come in pairs so you have to fight 8 of them at the same time
This, 6 stars in sa is extremely weak compared to other gta titles. With 6 starts streets are always empty since the barracks and tanks can't pathfind to the player well enough due to their size and speed and the soldiers only come off rarely with 1 or 2 man teams compared to FBI's 8-12 thus making FBI much more competant and lethal than the army. I've seen a lot of 6 star challenges and not 5 star challenges enough which should be much harder, I'd love to see some in future.
@@Joshimuz I heard you mention it in the video. Someone who wants to cheat will always find a way. In the end there are always cheats to be used no matter if vehicle access can be restricted or not. Thanks anyway; it was one more enjoyable video.
Wow thank you loyal viewer for the engagement, I am writing this comment to reward your engagement and build relationships and communities by responding to viewers
This was actually so fun to watch! It reminds me of a highlight video you made years ago for true 100% plus where you got the royal flush and you were trying to get back to your beach safehouse without dying from the cops. It was so intense too!!!
Good on you for starting with the most restrictive interpretation of the rules, and even adding self-imposed restrictions! Chat had some great suggestions for increasing the challenge.
Random chat person: 'hurr durr define a vehicle1!' This is actually useful for future challenges, but anyway: just look inside the vehicles.ide file. Anything not in this file is therefore not a vehicle. What constitutes a 'vehicle usage' is open to interpretation, though (getting in it or just standing on top of it).
I would define it anything that moves on its own and can be used for movement. If you're able to stand on a ped while they're moving - they're a vehicle to you.
Glad you took this challenge Josh. I wasn't expecting you to actually do it when I tweeted that considering how insanely annoying the police are at 5 stars
New challenge for you: Go from Grove Street to the Vank Hoff Hotel and finally to K.A.C.C. Military Fuels on foot with 6 star wanted level and maximum fat and the following cheats on: Riot, pedestrians are armed, aggressive driving and improved car handling.
I remember doing something similar in GTA LCS on PSP after I 100%'ed the game. I usually just cheated 6 stars, made Tony wear a chicken suit and then tried to make it from Shoreside to Portland on foot (or on Sanchez).
I actually had an extremely similar challenge in my head for a long time that I wanted to try; going from the very top of the map to the very bottom (from one extreme to the other) with max stars all the time and without being able to enter any vehicles or save, you start without guns but you are allowed to pick up any weapon in the way to the end, the only exception being rocket launcher/heavy weapon slot guns, everything else is allowed
(Long comment im sorry but it IS interesting! Especially after the first paragraph) Josh there is a way to keep the 6 stars wanted level. Its calculated by a number in game that is NOT 0-6. Its more like 0 - million with 6 stars being at 100 000 or something. The cheat BRINGITON gives you the value of 100 000 which is 6 stars but it quickly falls to 5 unless you do crimes. It could stay at 6 for a very long time if you for example shoot down a helicopter to increase the counter Interestingly 1 star requires more than 1 wanted point in the counter. So actually the game can count you wanted for even less than 1 star. You always get wanted points when doing crimes but if no cop is around its not enough to even get a single star. You have to do several crimes quickly with no cops around to get 1 star. For example if you're out in nowhere alone with 1 star and then lose it by time and then quickly steal a vehicle, you will regain that 1 star even if no cop is anywhere near you And in my experience there is a crime that gets you so few wanted points that you have to do it several times TO a cop to get a wanted level. Its driving towards them so that they get scared and jump away. I once kept doing that for a long while and suddenly got a wanted level despite not hitting anyone
You're describing the chaos meter, yeah I know :P But every single run I do I don't wanna have to fight cops/army to increase it enough to stay at 6 stars, I didn't bring it up on stream coz then chat would be like "DO IT"
@@Joshimuz I had no idea it had a name and I was just talking about my own and observations about it. I guess you're smarter than you look and you look like Albert Einstein What if you just type the cheat twice? Im not sure if that even works
@@Joshimuz There absolutely is a cheat on PS2 that locks your wanted level (commonly assumed to make it so you never gain wanted stars because you use it at 0), looking it up now it's apparently AEZAKMI on PC, I'll give it a test and edit this to make sure it works like I think it does. Edit: Tested and it doesn't seem to work that way on PC, it actually instantly clears the wanted level before locking it, shame. I looked it up and it definitely only locks it on PS2.
@@eetuthereindeer6671nah, sets it to a fixed value, doesn't add more, I tried it. Same with "TURNUPTHEHEAT" and "TURNDOWNTHEHEAT". I cut out a lot of my testing stuff from the video.
i feel for this challenge, weapon and health pickups are ok. They all would require time for you to take them, soo there would always be a tradeoff with timer + rng of helicopter (helicopter didn't spawn so i can risk not picking up x)
That was genuinely tense and exciting! Especially near the end of the the run, I was on the edge of my seat. Glad you did this challenge, thanks for the vid. I'm glad you decided to go up the Mt Chiliad also, it reminded me of a similar custom challenge I used to do years ago (with game speed up cheats) lol It was really fun, thanks Josh!
Start at 4 Dragons, Touch the Hangar in the Desert, Touch the Garage in Dougherty, Touch the Trailer in Angel Pines then make it to CJs house. Eliminating the need to parachute.
Mandatory Safehouses idea is a nice idea, but that means you had to add Toreno's Ranch before the Garage, and then also Catalina's hideout after Angel Pine
How about starting from Grove Street with 5-6 stars and do full a lap of the map through Badlands, San Fierro, Las Venturas and then back to Grove Street with all the same rules? *Kappa*
Hey, hi Josh! I don't know if you're going to read this, but I have some ideas in case you're interested in trying it again. 1. Challenge: Considering this is a challenge from 2005, and the routes the person suggests, I would say that it's a fair assumption to assume it's from the Airstrip (save point), to Doherty Garage (save point), to Angel Pine (save point), to Grove Street (save point). However... 2. Points: You can exchange Parachutes uses for Armor. For example, after you jump from the pointy tower, you could pick up the armour in the train station. Or pick up the mount Chilliad armour just before jumping. This way you going out of your way to pick up a parachute is rewarded. 3. Fewer Points: Kinda like low% speedruns. You can eat and pick up armour, but each pick up deducts a point. Then, sure, you can get to Grove Street by going from restaurant to restaurant, and getting there in 20 minutes and -8 points. But getting there in 27 minutes at only -1 is much more impressive. 4. Hard: Go through all main save locations. Four Dragons → Airstrip → Doherty → Angel Pine → Catalina → Grove Street (did i miss one?) Perhaps one healing (food, heart, armour, etc) per city, or even per run. Of course, these are suggestions. We can't know for sure what Chris meant, but self-imposed rules are what makes speedrunning and challenge runs fun.
46:55 you can see 4 agents leave the FIB Car, but it keeps driving and seems like another agent spawns in from the passenger seat and moves to driver seat o.O
I’ve tried this challenge with the defective edition and guess what, you can’t do the fast sprint in that version. Without it, you won’t even last 3 minutes.
Isn't there a Chaos Mod effect that gives you 6 stars? You could use a permanent chaos mod effect to essentially keep yourself locked at 6 stars, though you do discuss in the video the idea of disliking applying mods to this as it's meant to be a console challenge.
There is a way to lock wanted level and the guy 26:25 was right, at least on the PS2, if you do Never Wanted cheat and then do the 6* Wanted cheat it would just lock at 6*. Idk if it works on PC port or not but I used to have fun driving and being chased by tanks.
@@Joshimuz Rare Omega L on this one, I don't know how he tested but I put myself in a safe spot (top of LS tower where helicopter can't hit you), and I've been sitting there motionless for multiple minutes even as I type this, and the wanted stars haven't budged. Just to be thorough I'm gonna let it sit there while I do something else, but I'm pretty convinced at this point.
Hmmm, it should be possible to make an actual DYOM mission out of this concept. Weapons don't spawn in DYOM anyway, most cars don't as well excluding natural traffic which can be disabled, the only caveat being that you can't sprint indefinitely
you shouldn't start with armor, it is said to lose weapons by being wasted or busted, therefore you wouldn't have armor. But I think you should be allowed to heal, get armor and even weapons, I mean the challenge's text doesn't say you can't get pick ups, just to start with nothing.
Havent watch all of it yet but some ideas include: Can use pick-ups for weapons, armor and health but not bribes Can only use roads, except when going for a pick-up
I know I'm six months late and I'm not sure if you've revisited this challenge since uploading this, but jumping off LS tower is definitely possible too. You can exit the train station and take the drainage ditch to the west. You would come across a fork in the ditch. One leads to the right, up to where you take the speakers for that house party mission, of which is covered from helicopter view, to the tower. The other is to the left, leading you to the end of the drain merely a block from the tower. Simply jump off the tower and parachute back to the drain and run it home
The infinite sprint makes this run extremely easy because one can outrun the FBI cars. When the FBI cars stop and the agents get out of the cars, Carl is already too far away and they get back to the cars. He should try this challenge without the infinite sprint and while using permanent 5 stars because 5 stars is much more difficult than 6 stars. Difficulty can be still increased by using cheats which give weapons to the peds and make them hostile. With these settings he could first try to get through Los Santos or any other urban area before trying to travel through the whole map.
Friends and I invented a GTA4 challenge: After starting a new game cheat yourself the annihilator and fly to the last island to the point where the Sultan RS is hidden and get the full wanted level. Now you just have to get back to the first island and lose your wanted level without cheats. None of us ever beat this challenge.
Ah, this takes me back. Used to do all kinds of wacky challenges like this, probably did this one too back in the day. The only thing I didn't know back then is that burglary gives you infinite sprint. But for me the Badlands wouldn't mean Mount Chiliad, more like the northern area around Catalina's house and missions.
Josh in the beginning: if it would be too easy we'll try to make it more challenging Josh in the end: What else you can change if it is too hard already
