You so seldom hear this talked about. I have only floated once years ago in London but I've never forgotten it. It was an hour, not at all claustrophobic, and I astral planed! It was AMAZING. I strongly urge you to try it if you haven't. Not sure it's much of thing any more in the UK though, sadly.
I love going to have a float. I have been going regularly in Brisbane, Australian for the past year. I usually fall asleep within the first ten minutes and the music wakes me up to get out. Always get the best sleep that night and find that the magnesium helps with digestion. The place I go has a sauna as well which I use first and then the float. The sauna opens all the pores in your skin and then you can soak up more salts. Looking after me this year after a hard couple of years.
@@helpfulcommenter They are very popular across Brisbane, Australia. The one I go to is more like a small pool (two people can float at once) in a room. Love it so much.
If you get a chance, check out the movie Altered States (1980). Sensory deprivation and powerful hallucinogens are combined in a scientist's attempt to connect with his primordial self. I watched it a long time ago, but I remember it being quite good.
