My drop came between 2 and 3 years on my traditional locs. You're exactly right about the locs forming from the inside out first. Once they are fully matured the drop or rapid length will come.

I’m so happy I came across this video every thing else I have seen so far has a strategic method and I didn’t wash my hair as well and I just got up at 1 AM and started two strand twist for my sister locks last night I’m glad I’m not the only one thank you for this information

Hi, I am one year loc'd,and my hair tips started turning brown. I am quite bothered by that, and I feel like trimming off the tips. They haven't fully loc'd yet. I can still see the two strand twists I started with. So, I have split ends. Is it okay to chop them off??
