"The amount of opportunities here, and the amount of failures here is devastating." You just described all of Arkansas sports (minus track) in one sentence.
Head to the triangle in North Carolina...you will be able to see several schools in a single day. UNC, Duke, NC State and East Carolina. On the second day head west on I-40 and go check out Wake Forest and Appalachian State. Admittedly not legendary football powers/stadiums but it would be a real bang for the buck on your travel cost.
The trip should probably start in Greenville (East Carolina) and head east to Raleigh...about 80 miles ...then 22 miles east to Wallace Wade Stadium (Duke) then eight miles south to Chapel Hill. Note: Cameron Indoor Stadium sits about 300 feet from the closed end of Wallace Wade Stadium ...enjoy. I'll try to leave a few keys under the doormats.
I went to Fayetteville in the spring and wanted to see the stadium. The water wasn't on for the fountain, but it was still pretty cool. Yeah, their security is pretty tight.
UA employees and students use the parking lot that we all like to call “the pit”. Parking can get very horrendous during the school year (I have to get there at 7am just to get a decent parking spot every day!) Razorback road on the west side gets pretty busy.
Lotta crazies in Faye, grown-ups know how important it is to keep things locked up there. Everytime I work in Fayyeteville every place is locked up like crazy, but every other city in Northwest Arkansas is way less secured. Could just be because there's a higher desnity of police outside of the much-higher populated Fayyeteville, like its straight up a police state everywhere else. But property managers and stuff further up north will just leave empty houses unlocked cause there's less crazy people, as well as that the cops will show up and shoot any squaters for you in like 5 minutes.
The amount of squatters in fay compared to bville, sdale, or rogers is insane. Them mfs be walking on the roads a lot of the time near campus which makes it very difficult to get to work 😂
You've been to Arkansas, you've been to Kansas, and you've been to Illinois. Columbia is only a day's drive from Fayetteville. You have to go to Mizzou.
