In my search to make the perfect vegan popcorn chicken, I stumbled upon the idea of using soy curls! In today's video I am going to try and make popcorn chicken out of soy curls using KFC's signature spice blend to help achieve that KFC popcorn chicken mouth feel, but completely vegan!

Edgy Veg I had soy curls sitting in my fridge for a few month not sure what to do with them. I made these tonight and you were not kidding about them being addictive! Definitely satiated my 🍗 craving!

THIS IS IT! THIS IS THE RECIPE YOU NEED TO TRY! I've been a vegan for a few years and this is by far the best fried "chicken" I've had!! My only advice is buy several bags of soy curls because you will be INHALING these!!

Your hair and lip colour are so complimentary. Lovely! I freaking love these soy curl things, I've made fake "jerky" out of them as well and it's super good and chewy. NOM. Regarding the plants, you should look into the different edible plants that you can grow inside. I grow herbs and peppers in small containers around my window sills in the warmer months. I love to have a big pot of sweet basil to pick from all the time and it grows like crazy, even in a pot inside. One of my faves. And people love to get a piece of my basil plant as gifts. You can give people chonks of it and they can grow their own.

Msg is perfectly healthy - fear of msg spread as a part of xenophobic fear mongering and isn't based on science :) (It's also delicious in savoury foods and a great way to add flavour without adding calories!)

It's true there's no medical allergies, but the Mayo Clinic website says some people have an MSG reaction of short-term unpleasant symptoms, and that those people should avoid MSG.

@@LoreleiMission “Some people may” is the exact same thing printed on all prescription and OTC medication. It’s just common sense in the form of medical information. If a particular food doesn’t agree with you don’t eat it, whether it’s MSG or spicy foods or whatever. Simple.

Arrowroot powder or tapioca starch I heard is a healthier version of cornstarch. Also for a crispy -ness , ppl also use white rice flour for that crunch or bread crumbs , Indian semolina (Rava/cream of wheat ) gives a nice crunch . And the flour I've seen ppl make it with chickpea or gram flour, spelt flour . Looks delish !!!!

It's monosodium glutamate - it was refined years ago from the essence of savoury food. It just makes things takes umami or savoury. No one is allergic to MSG, as that is a racist myth made to other Chinese American people, it's googleable that the person responsible for the "trial" changed results to make his findings true. MSG is added to most savoury foods, including any kind of potato chips, boxed mac n' cheese, bullion packets, all fast food. If someone is saying they are allergic to MSG they aren't. It's hypochondriac nonsense, even if their doctor says it's true.

There is but you have to make self using vital wheat gluten. If you have Facebook then join the group the Seitan appreciation society. After you do look up soy curls.
