michael smith So what animal did you connect with and how has it influenced your fighting style? Or are there already styles based on all the animals a person can connect to? What I mean is has it already been established humans will be one of say 8 species or can it be any animal species. I am aware certain martial arts have based their techniques on certain animals and anyone can choose to learn that style but what you are saying seems to be a different perspective where your animal defines the kind of fighting style that suits you?
michael smith Interesting stuff. I am of the opinion people can believe anything they want and unless it can be disproved who am I to judge their beliefs especially if it makes their life better. I do criticize Chi or Qi though because every trick used to prove it's existence has been debunked as simple physics and "masters" use a variety of rudimentary parlor tricks as a recruitment tool at best or brainwash their students into believing they have powers when in fact they don't at worst. Not sure what animal I'd be - maybe a Gorilla ;-)
That was a really good reference, but he is using qi, just not what we think of it. Those who do this kind of stuff like me, acually know what qi is. It is temperary energy flowing AROUND his body, as we might know it as wind, made by you body energy.
hodbaccachalla brookmyer yes i know, in fact i have experience it in first hand... by other one at least who knew to use QI and prove it to me by seding me a lil of body energy and that shit got me by surprise, i just tought that dbz might of created the KI stuff which could be based of this
***** Did you know you can use the Kaioken? I have, and guess what? I'm top of my kung fu class because of it. My Shefu (teacher) made me teach him and the class it, and none of them believed in Ki (another term for Qi)
hodbaccachalla brookmyer you must be joking... are you forreal? please tell me more about this real life kaioken, what can it do to your body? or is it like adrenaline where it gives you a little more strength and dont feel pain? or does it actually boost your strength and other skills while in combat
You guy's i think are missing the point. It is the air movement that is blowing out the candle. He, we and everyone knows that. What he is doing is building the chi (potential energy) in his body, it looks like he is focusing it through his third eye into his finger tips and using the chi built up in his hand, to move as much air as he can with as little force (kinetic energy) as possible. It's impossible to just blast a ball of chi at the candle with no kinetic energy/movement haha. This is the art of Tai 'CHI'. In the same way, when they spare, they throw the opponent without using much force/energy (kinetic energy). I just the people who watch this to know whats going on so that maybe they can master it as well ;)
Kenny's ApocolypeS You are a fool. Third eye to the finger tips? Are you for real, there is no magic or CHI here, it's a puff of air for fucks sake. ARE PEOPLE REALLY SO CONFUSED BY A PUFF OF AIR THAT THEY CAN BE CONVINCED IT"S SUPERNATURAL?
Kenny's ApocolypeS Yes, but for some reason you unnecessarily introduce the concept of 'chi', it's so incredibly pathetic to watch some cheap trick like this and then go off on some shit like he was conjuring magic in his hand to improve the force? It's not even madness, it's just plain stupidity.
First, calm down, Second i never used the word magic. Only you are to make me sound stupid. Third its not pathetic to comment on something that I'm interested in. What is pathetic is watching a video and scrolling through the comments of the video to find someone that you can put down because they are talking about something they are interested in. It means you must have nothing better to do but waste your time with things your not even interested in. I'm sorry.
And its Potential, and Kinetic energy. two well known energies that can be found at work most anywhere.. Not magic. I mean it kind of is but.. not really
It takes a lot of practice to be able to be sensitive to the barometric pressure around you, and it takes a lot of "focus" to be able to throw a ball of air in such a way as to create this kind of effect! It's very impressive to look at.
To everyone talking mess...Chi flows in your body...does oxygen not flow in your body? does your spirit not flow in your body...believer or not, this is why certain exercises are practiced Chi requires physical mental and spiritual balance...the whip of the wrist, the exhalation of the breath loosening the muscles (and before anyone says Oh that extinguished the candle from the distance keep in mind these aren't weak b-day candles highly doubt it...heck some of you cant blow out a birthday candle at kissing distance) , and the will to perform all play a part...but you know...everyone in the internet is a 9th dan martial arts master who would smoke bruce lee and win the kumite, and yadda yadda.
Javier Evora Dude, you got fooled by a parlour trick. This is not legitimate martial arts by any means. He didn't even use his fist, he fanned it with his hand, it's bullshit and it's really poorly done bullshit. You can now feel ashamed for supporting such trash.
Old Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Qi Gong master here who knows all the tricks. This is not Chi/Qi. It is just air movement. Fantasy and delusion are common in the Chinese martial arts.
Yes. The 2nd Person gets half price! And your brother is more than welcome. Our full schedule is here under the classes link at our website above! Thanks for watching. Hope to meet you in class!
Actually, for everyone that comments that even the candle moved, no, the candle didn't move Can't believe there are still people who believe it is real
A lot of haters, regardless train. If he can do it let it inspire us to train harder. If it's a trick he tricks himself. Stop hating cause he's dedicated. This man trains hours a day..he does it for a living. Kind of different for us after work or after school cats. Keep it up!!
Its real or if he faked it then so be it however it can be done with chi. I duscovered my internal chi before i even knew what chi was. It to this day if generated strong enough puts me off balance and gives me euphoric feelings. My body feels at heaven and is shakey but all in a good way. I felt this before i even knew what chi was doing simple breathing excersise. Now after learning through books i understand it more. People who talk smack on this video can never feel it becauseof their state of mind, ego thoughts, sad mad thoughts all are blockages in your flow of chi. Body tension past serious injurys ects, evil or negative energy will harm you and block your chi. So it is very possible for this to be real. Or he could have faked it however i can careless. Hes helping many i this world through his videos as well as himself so keep it going, jake or jacob or mr chi. Whatever your name may be may this life do you and the world peace n harmony.
i know exactly what your talking about, i late;y started meditating and doing breathing exercise (as well as eat healthy) and i have felt exceptionally well from the day i started. But yeah this is totally real because i have tried it exactly how he did and worked, its just the bending and manipulation of air. i think they just practise it in the way of breathing before just to practise your chi.
It's not some magic energy that flows through your body. those feelings are caused by brain chemicals which are triggered by emotional energy, which can only effect anything tangible through its catalytic effect on human action.
as soon as i saw the video, i got my candle and just copied what he did. the shape of his hand, and how he manipulated the air. just trial and error. Its not difficult.
Understand he's not waving his hand at the flame. Note how far away he is, with that slightest of movements he can't "blow" it out by pushing air. Think of it as a Shockwave that you can't see. Like a ripple through the air actually through it to the flame. You gotta think outside the box it's not magic at all. This is how u can push someone extremely hard. Notice how relaxed he is as well
arguments are always made on here, if you study chi you will see it combines that nature of wind, chi pushes it through if you just try pushing your hand near a candle it will just keep flickering you must concentrate in order to do it. chi is energy and you can push it through with practice.
very good video,i train this myself many many times per day, don't worry I do believe you,im from the shaolin temples,i studied there for 2 years so I know what chi can do,you are doing very good
The movement of the air extinguished the flame, you can tell because of the angle of the smoke as the candle goes out. Though, if I reproduce the movement the force of my palm isn't adequate to put the flame out, I probably haven't practised as much as you.
u can see slight mouth movement and his neck puff up as if to inhale oxygen after this a release motion on the lips can also be seen and by release motion i mean u can see them move like they would had u exhaled while making a ring shape with ur lips.. but you know still pretty cool. :D
Its funny when the people attack Mace in the comment section. He point is he used his energy to put out a fire, but people cant get their point across without cussing him out
Jake you are to blame for how miss informed the public is on the topic of Chinese martial arts. Stop feeding them nonsense. So your coach was fake, everyone's been there, go get a real coach and retrain.
I'm not sure if this is tongue in cheek, if so sorry...but of course you used quick controlled movements developed through martial arts training and repetition to produce a air current to put out the candle. You can call what powers those movements chi, I guess, but you didn't use the mysterious no touch knock out force that Dillman talks about, because that doesn't exist. But a great display of skill!!
cool I haven't studied martial arts in 20 years ,one day I decided to show my teenage son's a thing or two because they were doing the old dad bit your old and fat you can't fight I could kick your butt ,when I did this after all these years heck even I was surprised ,but the looks on there faces , was worth it's weight in gold and of coarse you know I had to give it the yeah dad's an old fat man ! and walk away .
This might be plausible. I think that you can't make enough wind force with a move of a palm that he made. I want to believe you. Try to do it throught a glass.
You're missing the point. You can't generate enough wind power, neither can I, I've just tried. The point is that he can. "Chi" isn't magic, it's counter-intuitive body mechanics. That is, ways of getting your body to do more than it looks like it should be able to. Take, for example, the wing chun punch, or the "inch punch". Instead of just using the muscles in the arms, shoulder and back, a WC punch starts at the toe. Like a coiled snake, the whole body presses forward. Pushing the foot into the ground, bending the knee, moving the hip forward, twisting the body, moving the shoulder forward, extending the arm, striking the target. That's a whole lot of muscle groups working together. It's subtle, and accomplishes a lot without *seeming* to do much.
I have been studying Kung Fu and Tai Chi for 20 years. Why would you mislead people like that? Shame on you. I have really enjoyed your other practical videos. You have impressed me in the past, but you lost a lot points with this. Chi is internal and you know that. Why mislead people with this nonsense?
hi there great videos...i need your help.. could you put some videos about silk reeling and explain the exercise .. and do you know what is cotton belly in tai chi?? thnx
LOL...Chi? That's just air rushing to blow out the candle...I've watched some of your vids now and your taiji seems very external to me. Also your movements are cramped and you use too much muscle power. To others who really wanna learn about chi I can recommend Ian Sinclair for instance. He actually uses chi and is also veryfun to learn from...A little lss full oof himself to pu it that way ;)
