"We're here for a reason." No, we're not! When someone dies unexpectedly the world keeps right on going and doesn't miss a beat. "Consciousness" is an an entirely overrated, misused term. It only means being awake and aware of your surroundings. The universe is not "trying to figure out who it is." The things you speak of are the minds attempts to create happiness but keep in mind that the paths of truth and happiness seldom intersect. Happiness in this world requires one to wear a huge amount of blinders to reality. That's what most religions are. Don't be so quick to throw out science but rather pursue it to its ends and once you've exhausted that, then maybe look beyond. Cheers

The things that you speak of are expressed in the Quran. Religion as expressed in the world today is peoples interpretation of God’s messages. What does religion have to do with God? The two are completely separate. Rituals and books aren’t God. They’re at best tools to help us discover and connect with God. Seems like you are still an atheist, since your spirituality doesn't include deities, thus it is atheistic. I also love to look at the beauty in the world, but I see that beauty also in science. However I don't think we as humans have an intrinsic purpose, but have to give our lives meaning on our own.
I do believe in personifications of nature in the form of deities! There’s no denying there’s beauty in science, but I do believe every reincarnation is done with a purpose and every soul has an intention for manifesting.

You might really like Hinduism if you haven’t ever looked into it. Brahman is the energy that permeates through everything in the universe. Everything you said here about the ultimate being is exactly what Hinduism is based upon. Consciousness is separate from the body and mind
i love hinduism for that reason! i also like teachings of sufis that relate to Islam, and I have read some texts about other religions also capturing this concept. but hinduism does take the cake for me

I consider myself spiritual atheist. I don't believe in God persay as this omnipotent deitiy/singular species(idk) but I do believe there is a spiritual component to this universe.
@@SahelSarai Anything undiscovered and unarticulated at one point wasn’t science because we didn’t understand it. That’s why people should keep an open mind to new information. There has to be some things that cannot be rationalized as well. I think many people are uncomfortable with that idea and immediately write off un-ironed out ideas/theories as pure hocus pocus. My view on religion is that these practices were introduced to archaic cultures that needed a code of ethics to slowly evolve from their previously antiquated, primitive ways. If you compare Judeo religions to the civilizations they were introduced to at the time it kind of makes sense how some could see it as progress for the time being. Eventually the kinks should be ironed out and then a new set of beliefs will be followed for the masses. I don’t think people can act right as a whole without mass societal pressure to keep them in line. That’s what religion is used for.
@@zensei999 not sure if I agree that humans need something as oppressive and guilt inducing as religion to keep in line... but I do believe that religion as a book of rules has been previously used to group the masses into caste systems to keep them subservient. A system that is in alignment with nature instead of against it is my vision for the future, where humanity is led by healing rather than guilt
@@SahelSarai In my experience and personal view It WAS necessary. If there were no religions I don’t think there would be enough of a unifying factor to have bridged cultural gaps in the past and make people cooperate with one another long enough to become civilized In the same regions. Now we just cooperate with one another universally for capital goals and maybe we’ve become slightly more sensible in the knowledge of past tragedy potentials and complacency with the relatively peaceful times. Leaving people to their own devices will most likely not lead to prosperity, IMO. Even if it temporarily did somehow, I think the success would ultimately lead to prejudice monopolies again along with a rise in egoism. I People seem to be naively corrupt and lack objective introspection. We lie to ourselves more than anyone else about what we’re capable of and where our true motives lie. We’re mostly humbled by failure and rejection. I don’t believe any utopia can come to fruition on earth, lol.

But then again the argument going forward could also be what exactly would need to happen to create a true “utopia” as you put it... which honestly I think could only be the product of thousands of years of breaking down our systemic understandings and as you said actually look at ourselves and our perceptions. I think everything is integrated in the way that if the human being is more conscious of the self, traumas and healing aspects of oneself then we can truly create a globe where fear of a god or other systemic punishments wouldn’t be necessary. It seems like with the anthropic principle it’s observable scientifically that everything in our earth and solar system is well suited for human life to be here. The sun is the right distance from the earth so the earth isn’t too cold or too hot and the moon is the right distance so the oceans don’t overflow the continents plus the earth has water and oxygen which seems to give evidence of design which would imply a designer. An uncaused first cause who is not an effect and thus doesn’t need a cause but that being is the first cause for the effect of the universe. That being caused the Big Bang. That being put the energy there and compacted it. That being is the living being who started life in the single celled organism because Louis Pasteur disproved spontaneous generation of life in the 19th century so we know that life can’t come from non life. Idk about religion and the way it tries to define that concept and put it into a box but I do believe in that concept from logic much like Plato and Aristotle did but I struggle with religion because different religions contradict and even within particular religions there are contradictions and it’s all man made. I speak as a non observant Jew who has great respect for the Hebrew bible and Jewish tradition but still rabbis decided what should do in the Hebrew bible and what shouldn’t be and they were just men so who makes them right?

what is a mind? what is a brain? can you prove plants have consciousness? or even a cloud? everything around you that is an expression of the same energy and with the same atomic makeup...? how can you demonstrate that anything with a vibration isnt alive, which is everything? we are solely vibrations expressing themselves in unique ways. science is a good measure of this expression, but it's not causation.

I´m really trying to understand what you mean by oneness. All I know is that we are born, absorb chemical compounds from our environment, grow up, old and die. And those chemical components return to the earth to be absorbed again. This is what is observable, and is the only fact we can all agree on. Anything besides this is just a wish or a claim.
It's all speculation. Saying there's a God, multiple gods, that the universe is a simulation, etc. is just guessing and picking what appeals to you. Who needs all of that when science is doing a decent job of actually uncovering what the universe is like without having to ask "spiritual" or these kinds of meaninglessly speculative questions? Spirituality is just a filler word for ignorance, and it's fine to be spiritual and find inner personal meaning but that tends to have nothing to do with reason or actual reality. Which is why plenty of people are spiritual in their own bizarre way but get nothing fundamentally correct about the way the world actually is

I think, canada has been practicing the freedom of religion as well. But, what makes you of not considering islam as the legitimate teaching/path of the Creator of universe? I mean, the true islam by the way. Not the culture of people. Since i know many people out there have mistaken their culture as the teaching of islam. Iranian has their own culture, pakistani has their own culture, even arab has their own culture that doesnt represent islam. But first of, do you believe in the existence of The Creator of universe tho? Cause, the universe has begun, you know that already, right? Something has begun must have cause. I’m not really interested in any one religion... to me religion is an interpretation of spirituality and consciousness, so why narrow my perception of it? I still don’t quite like the way religion has influenced the masses as well. But in Islam mystics and sufis do have the right idea of the Quran, which I do respect and anyone with an ideology like it
Also - this isn’t to say that I don’t think people who do truly believe in oneness and Islam as a messenger of that message are contributing to corruption. It’s just that the message of Islam can sometimes be used on the surface level to create such division and groupthink that I do wonder what the best way would be to deal with religion - to try to explain its integral message to the masses who don’t quite see it, or to isolate the message from the religion and believe that instead? That’s the point of my journey I’m in, as I do recognize the beauty in religious text in reflecting universal oneness, but I’m conflicted in the years of history behind biblical and Abrahamic ideology that has suppressed so many. But I will take your invitation and read the Quran in more depth than I have, because I do believe at the heart of a lot of religions there lies science and the natural state of being to be discovered

There is no "universal consciousness". Consciousness is simply a function of your brain, allowing you to interpret the information that your brain inputs. Just stay with the real world. It's a much more fascinating place than the imaginary world, into which you are slipping.
@@SahelSarai Interpretation doesn't come into it. Scientists have done the experiments. When the brain is manipulated or stimulated in b=various ways, consciousness and perception are seen to have changed. Damage to a brain also leads to a change or even loss of consciousness. Due to the fact that the brain has a direct effect on consciousness, there is nowhere for a "universal consciousness" to be. If there were a universal consciousness, then why can't people with brain damage, access it and overcome their problems. What you are talking about is purely imagination. It's along the lines of other imaginary things like souls, gods etc.
@@jusfugly the brain is the physical expression of an aspect of consciousness. this isnt to say it doesnt impact consciousness, but it doesn't completely dominate it either. again, you're allowed to interpret things as you are, and as i've stated in the video, yours is the view i had before the one i currently hold so i do understand where youre coming from.
