That 1st Jazzmaster is sick. Glad you got one of those. Proper bridge good pickups and hey it's a Baritone. Just needs S1 switching. That's also my favourite SG.. Except I like 61 style neck joins. Keeps me from a 2011 Melody Maker. The V jam was pretty badass

Trogmeister! What a trip! I have both the Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster Baritone AND the Gibson SG baritone. Can't wait for your reviews! I also commented on your unboxing of the Antigua jazzmaster. I really wanted one of those. The black one is cool, but I already have a bunch of black guitars. The Antigua finish is unique. Great vids.

Good to see you doing more basses, I was wondering about that. Some of the price tags on old basses are just insane, any pre-CBS Fender that goes on sale is heading for some Hollywood lawyer's wall. There's a retailer here in Ireland who wants ~$16,000 for a Fender '59 P-Bass, or ~ $6,000 for a *replica* of an early-'50s P-Bass.

I bought one of those black baritones a year or so ago. I kind of hated the black on black, so I replaced the knobs and pickup covers with cream, and mate a tortoise pickguard. Looks much better now.

I have one of the Squire Fender VI RI baritones and it’s a blast to play and an absolute tone monster! I had to but one of the English Staytrem bridges to get it to intonate properly, but was well worth the 110+ from the UK. Well done!

Since November 2019, I have received 7 guitars that were damaged in shipping due to inferior packing materials/techniques. All of them were new from companies such as Thomann, Vintage, Amazon, and Ebay. The latest was from gear4music.....They used the worst cardboard box I have ever seen. I give up on buying online for now.

Hey Austin! I'm a big fan of you and I've been following you for years, mainly on RU-vid. I don't know where to contact you so I'll try a few places, starting here. I really enjoy the Trade Tuesday, WYRON and Guitar Hunting series, and I've got an idea for a whole new series that may help most of us who are on a budget. My idea is to document around 10 Gibson guitars that usually sell under $600 or $700 USD on the used market, do the usual review and then maybe compare them to maybe a Fender, PRS S2 or even non-US made alternatives, like Epiphone or PRS SE. Then give us your verdict and make a Top 10 guitars under $600-700 video. It may be nice to hear your opinion on "Melody Maker vs. SE Standard" or "SG Special vs. Epiphone Prophecy" I hope you like my idea and maybe do something along those lines, it could be a 20+ video series so it'd be really interesting. tesi switch sell kill switches that go right in the pot hole so u don't have to re drill and so it can be put back to factory if u are interested in putting a kill switch in the white sg!

5:02 Owner wisely/cautiously had the upper strap button removed before shipping (lower too). Very wise considering the location is at/on the neck-heel mortise.

I have a black Jazzmaster with the double humbuckers Austin but sadly mine is only the cheapo Squire version as I aint a billionaire like you. Lol. It works for me though & I've even been thinking about painting the headstock black to match the body. Might do some upgrades to it? Cheers man. Very nice. The block inlays look the part. You should do more Fender stuff. Even Epiphone stuff. ;) I've never had a bad Epiphone ever. Not once.

Still say you should try and get one of the Paul Landers Les Pauls which is basically the Buckethead in (flame retardant) black with EMG pickups and only one control. One thing about the Franklin bass if it's the same as his others not only is it unlined fretless but it won't have any side position markers either.

That is such a major statement that he said about insurance claims with UPS. Having UPS STORE pack and ship your guitar is a guarantee to have a damage claim paid without issues. It doesn’t cost that much for them to pack it. They will use a brand new box, and wrapped with new air bubble packing material. They will also inspect your guitar to prove that it was not broken before they pack it. Not all shipping and packing stores will be thorough with guitars as the UPS STORE. I shipped a 1954 Fender Telecaster through the UPS STORE, with it arriving at the destination without issue.

The Antigua Jazzmaster was not a limited edition.. it was the first release of the Vintage Modified Baritone Jazzmaster and fender probably saw how popular they where/how much some people hate this finish so they basically wanted to please people and cut costs. and no, they are not the same: Antigua is an Alder body while the Blackout as it's called is a Basswood

Got the same SG back in mid 2019, both Buckethead Studio LP & this SG set me back 6 months Trogly but like you mentioned my man "The Hunt is Over for me too" lol. Got BigB Studio LP on a damn luck in Australia that SG stuck at the customs for an extra tax fml but hunt is over

I feel like I should know this after watching your channel for a year, but I have a guitar I'd be willing to let you review and then send back if you'd like. The only problem is I don't know how to get in touch with you lol. My guitar is an epiphone sg special, but it's a limited edition custom shop. It was from the 2005 guitars of the year thing where they did a special guitar for each month. Mine is the one for may. An sg special model with a worn cherry finish and Zebra pickups. From what I know they only made 500 and I didn't see a single youtube video about one when I looked it up. If you read this and are interested is borrowing it for a review then let me know lol.

Hey Trog, How do you deal with shipping around the country in winter? UPS is not going to keep them nice and warm. Do you get a lot of vintage finishes ruined by cold checking? That Jazz Bass color combo is sweet! Lucky buyer.
