It's so crazy how many similarities we have! I went to Uni and left in my second year too. This was a few years ago now, and before I had figured out my identity. I was training to be a primary school teacher and it was something I'd wanted to do ever since I was in primary school myself. I was doing really well at the academic side of things, but unfortunately I failed my placement portion of the course where I went into a school for 8 weeks and took control of a class with guidance from the teacher. I was kinda screwed over by being placed in a conservative christian school as an openly gay person. The teacher I was paired with had never had a student teacher before, and I was completely by myself even though everyone else on my course was buddied up with at least one other student. They failed me on " behaviour management" which was wild considering I was thrown into a Year 6 class right near the end of the school year so the kids were feral haha. My course leader essentially said that because I'd failed placement, there was no way I could continue on without retaking the whole year and I wouldn't have gotten student finance for the extra year so I had no choice but to give up my dream and leave. Looking back, I'm actually glad I didn't stick with it because I had so much growing to do as a person and I don't think I was cut out to be a teacher. I'm so happy things worked out for you though and you have the opportunity to get that qualification you deserve!
