I'm Steph a twenty-something MTF TransRU-vidr.
In today's video I'll be sharing a little story time with you about the breakdown of my relationship with a family member, the tips and tricks I've learns to deal with this as a trans person and why it's okay to just let go! Hope you enjoy this rather somber video! Onwards and upwards #mtf #transgender #trans

Growing up with toxic siblings along with parents who are also toxic was the line I drew. It took me years to set and manage my boundaries bc they knew how to get me to do things for them, after awhile I woke up and finally said that I had enough. I have suffered mental, physical and emotional abuse, causing me to have deep depression and serious anxiety. I try to manage it daily the best way I can until I am able to afford a gender therapist. Stephanie girl I am so proud of you for setting this boundaries, sis we get pushed too far from ppl and we have to unfortunately set serious boundaries and hopefully be able to maintain the relationship. In my case I don't want to at all but I do hope that you and your sister do repair your relationship but if not I am hoping that you all the happiness and love bc you deserve it!

Your courage and strength in sharing such a personal story is truly inspiring. It's clear that you've made a difficult but necessary decision for your own well-being, and that's commendable. I hope your family understands and supports your choice. Your capacity for forgiveness and hope for reconciliation, despite everything, is a testament to your kind and generous spirit. I'm eagerly anticipating your next video, and I'm sure it will be just as insightful and heartfelt as this one. By the way, your hair looks absolutely fabulous! It suits you perfectly. Remember, you're not alone in this journey. Your RU-vid family is here for you, cheering you on every step of the way. Keep shining, keep inspiring!

I’m so sorry you’re sister treated you that way. I’m afraid of coming out as trans to my immediate family for the same reason. I know they won’t accept me, and it’s still something I’m trying to cope with. Overall, I know that I’m going to have to completely cut ties with them when I eventually medically transition. But I am glad I have distant family that supports me (cousins, aunts, uncles, etc.).

Surround yourself with the one's that do support you and remember it's okay to step away from those that don't.

@@stephanielynnette Thanks for that. It’s going to be hard, but I know it’s best for me to separate myself from toxic people.

Firstly, your hair looks absolutely gorgeous, I'm very envious of the volume you have! O.o Secondly, this message is so important and must have been incredibly hard to put into words. I'm so sorry that you had to make the tough call to cut that person out and try to move on, but I hope in the long term that you're able to feel at peace and happy with those who surround you. I've been dealing with really bad burnout lately and seeing you be so open and honest about your experiences yet remain positive is encouraging! Much love, and happy new year

Thank you so much for sharing this. My sisters are pretty supportive, albeit they are far away and not particularly involved, but my parents are a whole other story. I have almost no family support, and my parents want me to actively suppress telling everyone, despite the fact that pretending to be cis is killing me. I really want to be involved in a wedding, but I have my doubts (I'll guess we'll see when my sisters get married?). I am living a difficult situation where I feel I cannot properly escape the things holding me back, but I am still trying. I quietly started HRT back in August without telling more than a few people, in the hopes that eventually people would just see and accept it. I am happier than I've ever been with myself, but I still am frequently troubled by the thoughts of those in my life who cannot seem to accept me. I hope that the things I've done in my daily life to progress my transition will speak for themselves, but I am frustrated because I feel like I'm holding myself back out of fear. I want so badly to just be unapologetic and do whatever I want/need to make this journey easier/better for me, so I've been working very hard to adapt a mindset that is more concerned with my own wellbeing, as opposed to one that takes very little consideration for myself. Your voice is so helpful and meaningful to me, and I feel so much more warmth for having been here. Thank you for being here, and thank you for making your voice heard. You are so important and valued. Also, I am in love with your hair!

So glad you think my voice is helpful! Sometimes I think it’s reaching No one so I’m glad it helps! Being unapologetic is a difficult learning curve! Thanks for watching!

Coming from a semi dysfunctional family.. just because she is your blood she is not supposed to be in your life.. ❤️ it is hard and painful.. i have done that with two of my siblings.. 😒 i see them at birthsdays and for Christmas, but we do not talk and i do not see my mother at all.. I'm lucky that i got a friend i have known since birth because we meet at the hospital room as our mothers was bedrested after birth.. her family are more a family to me than my own.. ❤
