I was worried I'd need to get this one for my O2 collection, as I have most of the titles, but not this one. It looks kind of okay, but it's a hole that'll remain empty in my O2 chest. I love me some 02, but 70's era educational video games are pretty rough.

It's very difficult to make an educational "game." Probably Hangman is a good pencil/paper one that kids liked to play, and with a computer, it can have a dictionary to referee.

Very few edutainment games were actually good though.

True. I remember in high school, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego was meant to teach you how to read an almanac, so it's a little more involved than teaching letters and numbers, or arithmetic to kindergarteners and 1st graders.

I saw your video last week when you got Invaders from Hyperspace! as one of your mystery carts. I played some Odyssey² games at a friend's home1979-80, and look forward to your review of that one, please. I'm a bit tired of hearing that Ed Everett programmed so many of these games; it makes me think that's the reason they didn't get any better in the 1980s until Parker Bros. and Imagic took a chance making games for this system in 1983 and hired somebody else.

Not the most gripping of gameplay. But you have to give it to Ed for his herculean efforts on the Odyssey2. Plus making up edutainment games back when there was basically no such thing couldn't have been easy. Surprising this is all joystick, and they didn't force him to integrate the keyboard, especially since this sort of game lends itself keyboard input.

Love my O2. But a lot of its games (especially sports) were 2 player only. Which was strange since the 2600 didn't have this problem.

A lot of early 2600 games were absolutely 2 player only, or functionally 2 player only.

After seeing the Intellivision ads, I was jealous of it for its sports games. But I recently learned they were two player only, too. If I'd gotten an Intellivision, I probably would have been disappointed with its games. Funny, I just watched his review for Tron Deadly Discs on Intellivision, and that DIDN'T have a 2-player option.
