The singing voices and the regular VA's aren't always the same. For example, Twilight Sparkle's regular VA is Tara Strong. But her singing voice is actually Sunset's VA Rebecca Shoichet.

"My past is not Today" is actually what got me into watching the whole series back in the day. Most of EG's songs are literally soooo goood!

I forgot how much I love Sunset Shimmer. She's stunning and her character arc is phenomenal.

I highly recommend listening to tangled the series songs. A lot of those songs are solid slappers (if you haven't heard them already)

Tbh when I first heard "Life is a Runway", I didn't know what to think of it. Now, I think it's really cool. The way Kazumi Evans (Rarity's singer VA) does the melisma on the word "runway" is so cool! And I love that chord progression there as well!

1:45 I never actually compared that to 90's Madonna, but now I can't unhear it. :D 2:50 She didn't get a lot of solo numbers, but there's "Awesome as I wanna be" (Also good if you want some guitar shredding) from Rainbow rocks and "I'll fly" from the regular series. Personally I love how the latter utilize her voice.

Okay for me personally, I want you to listen to friendship through the ages, not only does the start start off so soft and build to a more i guess a mix of energetic and dramatic energy to it!!!! There are different styles incorporated and of course rainbow (her part’s my personal favorite) does a more British rock style both visually and musically and I just- ugh- it fuels me in ways I cannot comprehend 😤 so if you get the chance for another equestria girls reaction video I hope you can add this to the list of songs to listen to :D

And to get some songs from the actual MLP FiM franchise, here are some of my favorites that I think are really fun and unique: "This Day Aria" "Smile" "A Kirin Tale" "The Flim Flam Brothers Song (The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000)" "Glass of Water" & There is a particular musical episode that includes some of the best mlp songs, that'd I honestly just recommend reacting to the whole episode to get the full vibe of it. It's a parody on "A Christmas Carol" and the songs in it are spectacular. "Say Goodbye to the Holiday" "The Seeds of the Past" "Pinkie's Present"

The fact these songs got stuck in your head makes all the difference.

Some of the songs like Life is a Runway, and Rinbow's shred off don't actually have additional context because they were released separately from the movie. There were a bunch others. Music to my Ears, Friendship through the Ages, Hamstocalypse Now, Pinkie on the One, Player Piano, A Case for the Bass, Shake Your Tail, and Perfect Day For Fun.

PLEASE do a part 3! some songs that I suggest are ‘the spectacle’ ‘this day aria’ (both are from the actual show) and ‘we will stand for everfree’.

My past is not today released shortly after Rainbow Rocks - which made everyone love Sunset Shimmer. And then we got this amazing video and song as a bonus to further cement that. Absolutely magnificent.

I recommend from the series - "a true true friend" - "winter wrap up" - "find the music in you" i know a video that includes the reprise - "it's a spectacle" just for sh*ts and giggles - "you'll play your part" cause by Hera the harmonization is divine - "the moon rises" as some of the comments has suggested, though i recommend the music video. - "lullaby for a princess" think of this as a sequel to the previous song And if u want to challenge yourself, "smile HD". Sorry not sorry From the equestria girls series - "perfect day for fun" - "battle of the bands" there's like 2 versions of this. One where it sounds like there are more people in the songs, the other one sounds like there are less people. I'd recommend the latter. - "shine like rainbow" same like botb, there are 2 versions where one sounds like there are more singers than the other. Honestly, both of them sounds good to me because of the harmonization. (If u want i can get you the links) - "embrace the magic" - "let it rain" you mentioned you like character singing voice, welp, i think this should be to your liking. - "cheer you on" I recommend some songs from this RU-vid channel called Jyc Row: - "together against the sisters" - "magic flicker" Fyi: when you mentioned that sunset (the character in your last song) is coming to terms with mistakes she's made......hoooo boy that's an understatement. SPOILERS: If you remember in the first half of the chorus there's a demon reflection on the dome glass, no that's not a metaphorical demon. (Edit: i prob should've realized you watched her transformation but cut it out of the video) PS: yes, I am a sunset shimmer fan

The Everfree movie also has good songs. The first song that plays during the intro credits and then the song "Midnight In Me" was a banger as well.

Not sure if you were told this already, and also not sure if it will mean anything to you, but the man behind the music of this series, Daniel Ingram, used to be in a band with Weird Al.

My little pony friendship is magic has so much great music too!!

Daniel Ingram is the main composer and song writer for both Friendship is magic and Equestria girls. I love the man because he always seemed to be trying to experiment and flex something interesting in his composition. There is a rare song he wrote I would consider lazy. I remember once someone who knew a bit of music asked him on twitter about something he noticed about one of his songs. Basically he used a deceptive cadence in a song that that introduced a character named Cadence and was a secret villain. He confirmed he did that on purpose to amuse himself. I remember way back in the day when the first Equestria Girls movie came out. The fandom consensus was mixed. Some people liked it but was generally considered a step down from the show proper. A lot of folks complained that the first movie had weak animation, weak writing and week music with the only song most agreed was salvagable being the cafeteria song. Then the 2nd film came out and immediately people were onboard in a big way. The visuals were more ambitious and animation more fluid. Most of the songs were solid bops and the narrative was real engaging. Basically the villain from the first film was reformed now but everyone outside of the main 6 still really disliked her. Because in the last movie she was a massive bully who did over the top cruel things. That standard continued with movie 3 which had the unique hook of alternate universe twilight being the antagonist and sunset (the villain from the first movie) being the main hero and having to do a friendship reform on villain twilight. Sunset, not twilight, is basically the main character of these films. She also tends to be more emotionally interesting as a lead because she never forgets how she was a villain and that comes up in interesting ways going forward. Anyway after film 3 most people noticed a dip in writing but there were still a good few bops music wise in each installment.

I absolutely recommend listening to the songs from the anime movie Belle! ( however I’m not sure if you should listen to it in English or Japanese, and to be honest I prefer it in English but it’s your choice! )

So you should really really look into Reacting to songs from TANGLED THE SERIES!! Oh man, kind of disappointed you didn't happen to get to Five to Nine from the EQG Digital Series. That one is one of the better ones imo. Still, all of these ones are so cool! I would love you to do some from the tv show! Like yanno the pony versions FiM. One song that’s literally stuck with me for years and has no right to be as catchy as it is, (especially since it’s not even like impactful to the story or a climax or season finale or anything0 is Babs Seed. It’s it’s just so catchy for no fucking reason, I’d love to see what you think of it. A true True Friend also has a nice ring to it and gets stuck in my head a lot. Ooh ooh and for equestrians girls, better Together is really simple, peppy opening song but it’s just super catchy.
