I agree with that 100% .... I love old tube equipment . Whether it's CB radio , Ham radio , TV's , or stereos ... I love tube performance .

@@unitedstatesirie7431 Personally , I like the President Randy handheld CB radio ... and I've been heard a mile away just using it stock . Now they're making an AM/FM version called the Randy II .

Since I currently own two Cobra 148GTLs that I use virtually everyday, I still yearned for the old 23 channels I had back in the 70s. I don't need either SSB or 40 in my little Toyota car. On ebay I found a 1975 Pace CB144! She's on the way, in the mail. I'm an old repair geek, and I feel confident I can get her working up to specks. Unless that blasted synthesizer is bad. Then I'm out 30 bucks! But it is ebay right!!

Why didn't you do the complete test? You did not do the Grid emissions test. If the emission test is good, you can also do a filament life test, which shows the condition of the filament(s) of the tube by stepping down the voltage to the next lowest position and repeating the emissions test. You will have to hold the emission button down for a while to see the results. A good filament will stay in the Good area. It's always best to check the filament life before doing the short test to prevent damage to the tester. Good video!

Will it work with guitar amplifier tubes? like 12ax7 EL-34 and 6L6 types? That would be a great thing to have.

I know it works for 12AX7 tubes because I've used it to test a few of my own , and I've also used it to test all of the tubes in both of my Heathkit radios , as well as my Lafayette Comstat 23 ... which was in the video .

@@jgmopar If you look around you can find them at a pretty good price. I paid $70 for this one , and it came with all of it's original paperwork and information , as well as a few adapters . Just make sure that you're getting a good tube tester , research them a little before buying one .

Hi Bruce , sorry for the delay in replying to your question , for some reason I'm just getting this notification . What I can recommend will depend on what you're looking for . Will it be for a base , or mobile ?
