Granger....that pond, it was something that represented a very special time for you and River. I can’t help but to feel that maybe where it is today is how your heart is feeling...empty. It was an epiphany for me when I saw it, I too am suffering from a loss of a family member and life is just hard right now. I will pray for all us to have a peace in our healing. No, don't change the pond. The pond was such a big part of yours and River's life. Leave it and keep those special places just like they were when he was by your side. River would have sure loved the gooey mix that the kids made. Sure miss seeing that baby boy. I always looked forward to hearing him talk and laugh. You have amazing children and you can tell they are loved more than the size of the world. Keep up the great work and keep up the awesome smith's, sure look forward to Tues. and Thurs. when we get a new video.

Our kiddos start school on August 13th with a hybrid plan. They will go to school 2 days a week with 3 days e-learning. It is not ideal, and we have prayed for guidance on a very tough decision. Let's all lift each other up in prayer for a great school year for our kids. 🙏🍎✏

Oobleck is a great learning tool! I am a retired science teacher and one of the activities we did was to try to build something that would stay on top and not sink. We used toothpicks, index cards, and a few other thing to build them. It was a great learning tool to learn about properties of solids and liquids. There are many lesson plans on the internet that use oobleck! Hope you try them out. I think your kids would love them!

Yup, perfect time to make that pond bigger. It'll be a lot of work, but it'll be worth it. It will give you a good opportunity to turn it into a great fishing pond where you can add plenty of structure for the fish to hang out around too. It's a lot easier to do that when it's empty. I'm excited to see where you go with it.

This video was great from beginning to end... The bewilderment on Grangers face with the cornstarch mess was hilarious. but like a kid he had to play with it.- Trager grills are amazing and that brisket looked very tasty. Funniest part of the video was Earl in the back round of Amber filming. I totally felt London's pain with deleting Tick Toc. and as I am following Smith's I have noticed that the whole family seems to be a little more relaxed (if that is the right word) with film and I am so excited you are sharing both the Good and the Bad with all of us.

Another great video. As for your pond issue you should check your county and state regulations. Once your pond is supposed to exceed 1 acre you may need federal permits. My nephew was a land surveyor and in Florida you are fine up to 1 acre with local and state permits. He mentioned that once you go over 1 acre (per pond) then you may require EPA or other Federal approval. You mentioned at one time you love windmills. Maybe you should consider a windmill pump system. Another option would be solar power for supplying power to your pumps. It may save you on tax incentives going solar. The University I worked at had dug ponds for the purpose of draining the land that the buildings were constructed on. One engineer/planner came up with the idea of connecting the ponds via large diameter PVC. If the ponds around campus filled up or flooded the excess would drain to another pond. Good luck with your future dreams for your farm. Stay healthy, stay safe and keep living your dreams.

We have a Traeger and absolutely love it. One tip: stir pellets around ever so often before turning smoker on. If not, they can make small explosions (very small). Our schools begin 08/17 on modified hybrid schedule 2 days in school and 3 at home. God bless y’all!!

I work for a tool Company & we sell Traegers Daily & alot of my Customers tell me that they love them alot better than anyother kind of Smokers. Amber I went to Pvt School from 6th-12 & I loved it the main thing I loved was not havin to worry bout fitting in with others on my cloths bc we all dressed the same.

I am sure someone else let you know why it’s called ooblek (sp?). It comes from a book by Dr. Seuss. I make it each year with my second graders-they love it. Guess we can’t do that this year. Enjoyed watching you all enjoy it.

I always enjoy The Smith's, today was super special it brought me back to when my kids were Lincoln and Londons age. The exploring in the woods, catching grasshoppers and climbing trees, we did it all. The simplest things in life can make such great memories that late a life time. I do believe Rivera is always following close by. I think Granger should do a bigger pound, it will make for some great memories for the kids, they seem to love fishing especially Lincoln. Granger has worked at it and that rock wall, it will be worth it in the end. God Bless you all keep safe. Blessings 😇

Your brisket made my mouth water. We love the crispy edges. 😋 I love it when y’all mention Riv on here. I know y’all talk about him all the time. Miss him so much. London, good job getting rid of tik tok. You’re extremely limber and creative. You can make just as good dance routines all by yourself. You have proved it. I don’t blame you for shutting down the well for the pond. I agree we sure do need some rain here in Texas. I believe whatever you decide to do with the pond it will be done right and look amazing. Granger, you remind me so much of my husband. His birthday is also in September. If he’s doing a project he makes sure that whatever it is it’s going to be done right or not at all. He’s a retired electrical engineer. He’s one of the hardest working men I know to be 68. He’s working in his barn or in the pastures from the time he gets up to 6-7:00 at night. He’s was raised a true farm boy. Much love to y’all. ❤️🎈🦋
