The GOAT “debate” is just Artosis rage baiting. Serral has double the premier tournament wins Rogue has and the longest #1 rank streak of all time by far. However why do we watch SC2? Its entertainment. Which is why uThermal is the true GOAT of SC2
Marc is the GOAT of entertaining SC2. I feel sorry for Serral. He always loses to Serral regardless of how the match goes. His post game analysis are brutal. Like, Serral, please cut Serral some slack!
Serral is the GOAT Zerg, not the GOAT player. GOAT is the best at ALL races, and Uthermal has the most tournament success at random than any other player. Can Serral beat Uthermal playing random? I don't think he can if Uthermal takes it seriously.
@gcl2783 Marc is better than Serral at SC but not better than his Zerg. Serral can't beat Marc playing random. Marc has the record in tournaments playing random. The best at the game is the GOAT not the best at Zerg.
uThermal, have you considered doing a Zerg to GM with “early burrow” being the challenge? For example, burrow research must be started (or completed?) before full saturation of the natural? Burrow allows for map control, engage/retreat traps, mind games to force the opponent’s hand… and lots of potential for innovation, outplays, and hopefully entertaining content. Just a thought/suggestion. IMO, the only thing as pleasingly comparable to seeing a massive nuke land is watching an army melt when walking over a baneling minefield. 😊 I think “Burrow to GM” could be as fun as, if not more than, the nuke-happy “Ghost to GM”, and potentially more significant to the meta than “Hellion/Raven to GM” was in getting the Raven nerfed.
How high MMR can you reach without micro your units? Just set "patrol" for the opponent's main base and observe / produce new ones? Micro only allowed for supporting units - like detectors and spellcasters but without spells that directly harm opponent units - like no turrets for Raven. You can line your units however you like in whatever spot on map but once set on "patrol" must remain in that mode.
G.O.A.T opinion. The greatest player to me is whomever has the most success with ALL races. Who has made it the furthest in the big tournaments with random? Uthermal is the answer. Reynor is next, but he doesn't play Terran.
The GOAT is not the best Zerg player (Serral). The GOAT is the most successful "random" player and that is Uthermal. Random players "play" the whole game not just 1/3 of it. Do you really think Serral could beat Marc playing Terran or Protoss? Reynor is really the only top player that plays more than 1 race in tournaments.
