What kind of coincidence is it that so many people were thinking about this yesterday or recently, myself included. Definitely my favorite expansion.

After playing both again, can confirm TBC is the best expansion Blizzard ever made

I expected the TBC servers to be my permanent home. When they decided to shut them down I was pretty beat up. Honestly I'm probably just going back to private servers.

I would love a TBC server. I unfortunately completely skipped over it the first time in classic due to personal issues. Would love an opportunity to play TBC again.

I have played vanilla private servers and so many people there have constantly shat on TBC. It's so refreshing to see that there are people out there that actually adore TBC as much as I do. Don't get me wrong, I love the appeal of vanilla wow. It's fun and challenging, but TBC was where I first started playing. That nostalgia people feel towards vanilla is how I feel towards TBC. Plus, sometimes I just wanna play a damn blood elf. I will never forget the starting zones of the blood elves and draenei.

man really missed TBC Classic too, it feels like yesterday, especially as a tank, it was such a fun tanking bosses like illidan, KJ, lady vashj and KT, also the rep farm with heroic dungeons

I'd be there! TBC holds tons of nostalgia for me, plus it's just a well made game. Timeless classic!

If they opened a TBC server and enforced Faction Balance, I would drop everything and go play there….

TBC is their best expansion. I said all along we need era servers for TBC.

Burning Crusade was when i started playing WOW back in 2007.

I made a comment years ago (pre classic era launch) trying to suggest ideas around the long term health of legacy servers and in short I suggested: 1. Stick to the classic trilogy 2. Have them run in cycles (I think Azzie's version here sounds good: 3 x 2 years) 3. Protect accounts so players can keep their character for years to come whilst also finding a way to inject new life into servers from new player characters. Atm, I think point 3 is the hardest to get right. I currently have a 60 on classic era that never got around to raiding (let alone pre-BiS content), but I'd love to keep playing if the servers were more active. It would be cool if there was a way to have these "cycles" inject life into existing servers whilst still being fresh servers for a time. Sort of like how you can keep your HC character by transferring it to the CE server; fresh server experience, but then a way to possibly inject life into the existing server.

You always miss it when it's gone. We don't know how to enjoy the present moment :/

Once they announced they were going to Cata, I quit playing wotlk. I was so bummed out. Maybe one day, maybe one, they will run from classic and start new and unique expansions that keep the classic faith

TBC was hands down the best version of WoW. It fixed all of classic's problems while remaining balanced and challenging. One of the best games of all time.

Classic 2019 -TBC was amazing. The TBC Hype was UNREAL. TBC is the best Expansion. Vanilla is the basegame.

Bottomline, after all of this, having played WoW and it’s rerun. I can say without any doubt whatsoever that TBC is IT. Peak WoW.

The moment they'd announce it I'd start to save up money to quit my job at launch and go as hard as possible. I wasn't playing during original and quit half way through bt after getting t6. that was "I'll check this out" atm but right now I clearly want to play it

TBC HYPE! TBC HYPE! I feel kinda the same. I would love either a dedicated TBC or Wrath server as they were my favorite expansions. I'll try Cata, but I wasn't impressed with it all those years ago and I don't expect it to feel different this time around.

I was too young to play TBC, and joined the military and missed tbc classic, but has always been my favorite old content. I want so badly to play it currently.

TBC Launch in 1 mounth or 2 on Warmane Onyxia Server. It's progressive realm with adaptable XP x0.5-3, actualy Vanilla Naxx came out and the server regain popularity as TBC approach, there is guys everywere in the World and faction balanced ;)

I made real life friends in tbc. We all quit playing and meet up on festivals since we all live far apart.

make ERA server for all the holy trinity expansions (Vanilla/TBC/Wotlk). Dont add any shop items/services in them. Add Joyous Journeys weekends rotating through all periods, so you can level alts in all expansions.

There's no down side to having classic, TBC and Wrath era severs. I'd be up for that

I was in shock when i came back from a wow break only to find there's no more TBC servers up and running T_T I leveled my druid when there was just classic just because i wanted to play it into TBC .. bring it back! It was my fav expansion, it has a flair no other xpack has; its magical! TBC HYPE! TBC HYPE!

Classic to me is Vanilla, TBC and Wrath. A 6 year cycle would be great.

Thats why I never played retail, my first WoW experience was on a wotlk server, after I was done with that I didn't play for like 6 years and then tried TBC for the first time. My only bad experience was that there were alot of "Elitists" who treated me like shit because I didn't play the respective expansions yet.

Tier 5 TBC was the pinnacle of the Classic trio for me, with downing pre-nerf Lady Vashj as the top highlight of the xpac. I've seen your posts on X as well, and am in complete agreement with you. Our guild just wrapped up raiding in Wrath post HLK, and are enjoying SoD and its fun and casual nature. But even just this week I've heard from guild members they would be pumped for another TBC experience. I'd jump in right away if given the opportunity.

Dude there was this one troll shadow priest on Pagle in greens and blues for the entire expansion and I still think about what that dudes life was like. I always saw him in shat.

It's hard to believe it's been 17 years since I master tbc the first time...tbc and wrath was my life for like 5 years

If i would have to choose an expension "to play for the rest of my life" it would be tbc. Like every expansion it had its flaws aswell but in 17 years of playing (mostly arena) its the expansion I was enjoying the most by far. it kinda hurts me every other day not knowing if i will be able to experience it again. Was just peak gameplay in mechanics from a ret pov.

I agree Blizz next move is to do Season of Discovery Continuation at least till TBC and maybe move to Wrath. I hope they don't just abandon this project as we see that it has more population than every other expansion or project they had so far !!!

I've been wanting this for a long time. I wasn't done playing TBC and then all of a sudden, I was forced to play wotlk. I was hoping they'd leave at least one tbc server, but they didn't 😢.

TBC has the best raid, Karazhan. there's more heart in 1 inch of that place than all of retail dungeons combined. TBC still felt like vanilla in so many ways, however, it still had big problems looking back and started some really terrible things. I love TBC, but still: -flying mounts are just bad. it doesn't matter. that should've never been something we experienced. we should always view the skies as off limits in some way. -hunter pet changes -some homogenization with classes -heroic badges and heroic dungeon difficulty. -I'm not sure TBC should have been on a different map. felt too much like two different places. like there was the regular world and then you went on a vacation to outland. -"touch and grab" quests. -"vehicle quests" aka flying on a mount dropping bombs. -many more QoL things that made it too easy. -in game purchases / Recruit-a-Friend rewards. -too many new currencies based on the zone. honor old marks, zangarmash tokens, Shards of whatever. -RESILIENCE / new combat rating system sucks. -auchiondoun / hellfire citadel dungeons needed some work. -draenei are a questionable choice for new addition. but still... ok.. I guess. Right? -Left too many loose ends back in the old bizarre, antiquated azeroth quests. -new spells/abilities nullified a lot of places and mechanics in azeroth (to be expected at some level) -arena should have been in open world, not zones. That one place in nagrand would've worked. Where people could watch, you know? -the worst one of all...... DAILY QUESTS. we can never forgive TBC for introducing daily quests, one of the prime evils that turned Wow into retail. -the starting zones for draenei and blood elves were forgettable tbc. they did not need their own cities. exodar/silvermoon should've been smaller or different. -eye of the storm was pretty bad, TBH. I mean, it was like a C+. it's completely ruined in retail now that you can push people off cliffs. -Wellfare epics, especially from PVP. Probably many more I'm just not thinking of. However, I still consider TBC 10/10, A+. Vanilla was just better. I know this last one's difficult, but I also think raising the level cap 10 levels was a mistake. I'm not sure how to fix that, I haven't given it too much thought, but still, something else maybe was the right answer.

The idea of 6-year cycle starting with vanilla trough wotlk is what i was thinking, after blizz confirmed cata launch, but either tbc or wotlk i would play any day. Thanks Azamous

I hated when they took away rewards. I hated when I could not get things I wanted and was working towards. If the server stays I can eventually do all the things. Even doing all the things on another class character would be fantastic. I want to do the things three times, all on TBC.

Agreed. I have posted this elsewhere, but I would give just about anything for a server or servers that allowed players to play and progress through Vanilla -> TBC -> Wrath at their leisure. Accomplish everything you want in Vanilla. Click a button on the character screen and a character of your choice would be cloned and the copy would be able to progress through TBC content. Rinse and repeat for Wrath. Rinse and repeat with as many other characters as you desire. I would happily pay a higher monthly subscription for such a server.

I think Seasonal servers need to be used for this desire to revisit these expacs. With SOM/SOD built to last a year, simply make the next season be TBC, and Wrath after that. 3 year rotation of strictly those versions. You get a year of your favorite expac, enjoy what made it good progression wise and get that F R E S H vibe. Move on to the next, most you have to wait is 2 years for it to circle back. As much as i like the idea of a dedicated TBC/WOTLK server, you've already pointed out the state of Classic Era servers and how something similar for TBC would just go down that path. Stagnant MMOs always struggle to maintain a flow of newer players and all they have to look forward to is trying to catch up to those who have been done for years. I understand the desire for character permanence or the progression of characters through expacs but its extremely difficult to have it both ways. If Seasonal servers became that 3 year rotation with similar attention and balance they have given to SOD, there is constant incentive to join in on the fun and if you miss out or things get stagnant you just give it some time and it will renew in a few months. IMO

If there's something I've learnt from SOD it's that I would love for a era locked TBC or WOTLK server but where all "end game" content stays relevant. All end game dungeons and raids regardless of expansion are level 80 and items / gear awarded from them are scaled also. Also dynamic PVP and PVE events around all of the world that keep all zones relevant. That's the dream.

Im glad Im subscribed to this channel who can spread some good message like this video, I've played through mid-tbc to all wotlk and I had a lot of achivements and funs on both expension. they clearly could at least give one server wotlk and tbc for all the people not interested into cata or just the next expension. it doesn't cost that much lol. I would love to let my character on a wotlk server instead of being forced to play on cata

There should be progression servers on a 6 year cycle. There should also be fresh servers on a 2 year rotation.

I like the idea of a WOW Classic server that starts at Vanilla for two years; then TBC for two years and then finally Wrath for two years. Best cycle of content and fun in WOW!

By far the best raiding experience I had was in TBC full played everything and oh boy I loved every second of it

I played original tbc and wrath. I played them again on private servers. I played them again on classic versions. Now that I've been through them for the third time and not only that but I also had logging,modern addons, 99.9% less bugs than any private server out there, massive population, far less lag etc (except in world pvp but eh, what can u do), I don't find myself wanting to repeat the cycle once more. Fellas, with classic wow we almost went back in time. Only difference to our nostalgia and fantasies is that we ALL went back in time together. I received EVERYTHING the game had to give in any of it's versions. I did everything I missed doing in original classic/tbc/wrath. I did the things I missed out on in original classic/tbc/wotlk. I collected the rare mounts that I still don't have in retail after 17 years. I did my 99s and and a few 100s in every tier. I was part of massive world pvp that I never had to experience of in any game (except maybe Lineage 2), I made new friends, I played again with old friends that had stopped. What else is there to do? Go back and play classic again?Play tbc and wotlk again?For what? I went through all the raid tiers without missing a single week and let me tell you, when the new tier was released none, absolutely none was sad to letthe older raid tier go. When wrath came out, I didn't see anyone saying they were going to miss running BT/MH for their 450th timer on their 7th alt. Once we went through the official versions of classic/tbc/wotlk (and not through the private server versions where we always had something to complain about), the rose tinted glasses shattered, realizations washed over us and we all willingly moved forward (with very few exceptions). Going for a 4th loop around the same track would be nothing but insanity for me. Thus, I'm happy with the coming of Cata and the launch of SoD because I'll get to play Cata on my terms this time around (just like I did in classic/tbc/wotlk when they re-launched) and tleast SoD is trying something new and I'm okay with killing my time in it now and then when there's downtime on retail or classic (wotlk/cata). As for all of you that believe people will go back to private servers, first of all private servers never really died when classic came out and secondly the people hat actually did come from private servers can hardly go back to them after playing classic. For obvious reasons, the ones I mentioned above. Even if some people do return to p.servers, it won't even make a dent in blizzard's overall population. When you had mega servers in classic having 40k+ people and normal servers having 15k+, you'll tell me that a private server with an inflated population of 5k people is somehow "the classic/tbc/wotlk resurrection"? Lol, hypocrites.

TBC with faction balance would be just the best, I also would love it if they decreased the reputation requirements for Alts once you hit exalted on your mains.

I cant agree more.... they shoul've do era for these 2 amazing games like they did with vanila. Have 1,2 relams from each game wont hurt nobody. You can keep doing SOD's MOD's experiments or whatever the name is... but give us ERA realms of these 3 games... you have no idea how hard is to be rogue in TBC and get glaives and at the end all the effort is gone, everything you done is history. I have my era classic T3 rogue char and I enjoy it. I would love TBC era and Wrath Era!

I made a form post almost EXACTLY like what your describing of a "rolling original trilogy" server. I think 3-4 years is more than enough to enjoy all three games, each with phased raid releases. It is the best way to scoop up and retain all of the classic playerbase because you get a guarantee that your favorite phase of the trilogy is coming, at least eventually.

i think its very possible in the future they will make 'Season of' servers for TBC and Wotlk tbh

TBC was great, but I didn't get to play much of it due to my work schedule. I'd love a server that starts with TBC and stays TBC, so blood elves and draenei (one of my favorite races) would always exist.

Thematically the best expansion. Raids were tons of fun and Karazhan is iconic. The zones and music are unmatched.. and Shattrath was an absolute vibe. Only change I'd make is including raid buffs so we don't need 5 shamans for bloodlust.

I like the idea of rinse and repeat but eventually that's just going to make Blizz end up with a bunch of dead servers as the vanilla>TBC>Wrath cycle repeats itself over and over. Sure they could just wipe it all away with every full reset but people wouldn't be too happy to have their characters wiped. In my opinion I think SOD could be really fun with TBC content so I am hoping once the vanilla phases are over they eventually move onto something like that.
