WoW Burning Crusade Classic Race Picking Guide 

I haven't played WoW in like two years but I still watch a 30 minute video on choosing a class for TBC. What a Saturday.

Seeing the TBC character creation screen brings back old memories from when I was 8 or 9 and started playing WoW for the first time :')

The smooth voice turns out to be really fitting for this overall video IMO. (Slightly whispering style). How the different stuffs in the video come together is well done. Such as zooming in slowly , step by step pictures for the explanations, etc. Good job! If you need some critical feedback: Perhaps adding a few chapters via yt function. (it's good for when you lost track,or were occupied for a minute or two somewhere else) Keep on showing just stuff that you talk about - that's a core part of high quality video making IMO. (with few exceptions such as introduction perhaps) Self notice: 26:10 priests and paladins - i had to watch this one twice as I didn't know what it was about at first.

Shadowguard is super undervalued, speaking from playing a troll priest in classic in pvp.... Shadow guard out shines devouring plague because of how little of a mana cost it has. With spell power it's so much dmg that can keep being reapplied. Idk how many times my blackout has proc'd on a rogue trying to jump me because my shadowguard ticked! Great video btw!

I'm rolling warrior for PvP and I'd say this: - Night elf if you wanna be a badass charging people in battlegrounds from the shadows (super effective at guarding flags in AB) - Gnome if you hate mages and wanna improve that matchup. - Undead if you hate warlocks (berserker rage removes fear but not charm, which makes UD good vs warlock but meh against priest) - Tauren if you want an overall good race. The stun is good in most scenarios, the extra hp is nice and the extra attack range is cool for bigger whirlwinds in battlegrounds.

Never noticed that before, but looks like Blood Elves are the first WoW race who can't be warriors. In vanilla WoW, every single race could be a warrior.

Shadowguard + Blackout is amazing. Been great for me in Classic.

I can condense this... Pick what you prefer! (00) Seriously it's that simple. Read the description try to understand the racial perks in case it effects your decision it rarely does, we are visual creature (^0) and then pick your preferred race. :P Not completely happy after hit level 15 or 16, pick another race. You're not limited to one character you can have many and a favourite will emerge from the characters you have.

One thing not mentioned here, Holy paladins in pvp benefit a lot from seal of vengueance, as it can help a lot on the damage. I used to spec as a shockadin back in the day and made 2s with another shoka, we could stack 10 of those sov stacks, the damage was insane, we got to 2k rat on 2s.

I may be wrong here but I think the Beast Slaying troll racial talent is effective against druids cat/bear form since they are considered as beast while shapeshifted.

'leeway' should be tied to ping. Gain .01 yard for ever 1 ms of ping, or something similar based on movement speed, etc, so players like me on the ass-end of Africa with 250 latency to Europe can backstab the player I am literally on top of

Haven’t played in 10 year and my goodness had the game changed since cataclysm. Wow classic seems the solution but the sub price is a lot more expensive than I remember, ouch.

That would you rather for the warlock at the start is too real. Half the horde are undead, the other half are damn warriors, fear might as well just be a cosmetic spell in pvp.

One note about night elf druids - they can use shadowmeld while shapeshifted in TBC whereas in Classic they can’t.

The correct race to pick is the one you like best. So tauren. Tauren are always correct.

Update: Alliance and Horde pallies get each others faction specific seals at level 70, per BlizzCon '21.

About seal of blood vs seal of command: PVE: No matter how much better seal of blood is, if your guild is at least semi-hardcore, no way it would take more than 1 retribution paladin, be it blood elf or human or dwarf or whatever. Why take another ret, when you can have another hunt or lock. On the other hand, any guild will NEED one ret pala to judge crusade and update holy/prot palas' judgements. So it doesn't matter what your dps it, your guild wants one and only one ret paladin, it doesn't matter if it's Horde of Alliance. And if your guild is pure casual, it would take people, not specs, so even a drunk dwarf paladin would be ok. PVP: Blood elves use seal of command in pvp. End of story, really. The main problem with paladins in pvp is their predictability. Seal of blood makes paladin 100% predictable. Retribution paladin wins arena with seal of command (and windfury totem) procs. The only place where seal of blood vs seal of command will matter is parses on 3rd party websites.

Druids in animal form are considered beasts in terms of beast slayer racial's 5% dmg boost if I remember correctly, they can even be feared by scare beast and seen on the minimap with beast tracking

hey Mad, So is this a min-max video about races or not? You say no but then say yes. Also,: ~2:14min im pretty sure "eek out" dps and min-max is the same. I'm sorry Mad but even by slightly serious standards you missed TONS of things, like the BiS PvE healing race being Troll...pretty basic stuff. You said you'll list the racials but then make claims.

TDLR version for how it will really be. Lots of rerolls and Alliance being a dead faction. Horde are BIS in PvP and PVE. Dwarf racial gets nerfed to not remove blind and Horde priests get fear ward making them useless. Warlocks and Priests (and warriors to a lesser degree) are god tier in pvp which makes WOTF stronger than it was in vanilla. Alliance paladins suck cus ret and holy has no interrupt and BE does and seal of blood is stupidly better. Alliance shamans suck because shamans already have a ton of hit talents and the orc racial works with spells and melee in TBC. Gnomes are decent as warriors, but Taurens can auto swing through pillars in arena and stun people with stunherald and when running around a pillar is half the skill in the mini game it's broken. The only class you can make an argument to roll in both pve and pvp is a human rogue. Rogues SUCK at PVE in TBC until glaives (biggest guild drama item in history of WoW ) and you will be lucky to be the only one in a guild allowed to raid. You are not required for any fight and only useful in 1. Council in Black Temple with PvP gloves for interrupting. Human Rogue IS nice vs rogue mirrors and gnome mage if you are only playing that comp, but far worse when playing with other classes poor vs lock comps and priest rogue is a very common comp which makes Undead a push or better. So enjoy the 80/20 population difference. All Paladins will reroll. All girls and fabulous dudes will reroll (belves). All hardcore pvp players on alliance will reroll. All Alliance will leave PVP servers and reroll PVE. TBC private servers gave Alliance FREE respecs and there were still more horde. These imbalanced racials were imbalanced on purpose and for a good reason back in the day. Horde were severely outnumbered until soon before WOTLK because there were so many rerolls due to pvp and belves. Then racials swung the other way with human racial being broken with double trinket but it's been a losing battle ever since trying to get people to be Alliance. Unless you are a glad level rogue only rolling alliance to troll the heck out of a pvp server with no raiding gear, good luck being Alliance. Gnome warriors are also god tier in BG's but you will be playing with people who don't care about arena at all, won't have resilience and it will resemble Alliance losing 10,000 AV's in a row like current Classic. For those thinking Bg's will be better than current Vanilla you are delusional. You will choose between hour long queues or losing every game. For those thinking TBC Arena was good, you are also delusional. Arena was bad until Wrath and it started bad there to. Blizzard could fix racials/population, but they don't want to. They want Classic TBC to only exist as a gateway to microtransaction retail. The worse it does as far as design the better Ion looks and the more they can push the idea their WoW is good, even though it's a unfair comparison and racials were CHANGED to try to get balance, which they refuse to do now.

I really hope I can find a guild for my homie and me, going troll priest and bout to heal all the raids in tbc. Just gotta find the right group of people. Can't wait for the sweaty pserver players that will brainwash the fun outta regular players... Gonna be aids

im horde... thousands of gold and hundreds of hours on the faction... i was alliance shaman dranei on the TBC when i was a kid im abandoning the horde to play shaman dranei again!

I doubt THAT many people were still on dial-up in 2007 but it was a funny joke and good point nonetheless. DSL and cable were somewhat primitive at that time as well. Oddly enough when I tried dial-up on laptops, nothing could disconnect it. People would try to call and it wouldn't get through. I suspect either disconnecting is a feature of external modems or certain landlines which is not the type of landline we had but of course ours was still analog until we finally discontinued it and got VOIP with our cable internet as well as switched away from DSL. Also, admittedly I have mained an orc lock since Classic vanilla because orcs are my favorite fantasy and overall WarCraft race and lock seemed like a cool and useful class but this is very informative overall.

tauren melee leeway is VERY strong, number of times ive executed a strafing hunter at 10 yards.. also swinging through pillars yeah haha downside is hard to dodge some aoe boss mechanics

I love this video! I think shadow guard needs a tiny bit more love though, because (just like lightning shield) if you remember to cast it right before you drink (or like 20 sec before you get in a fight) then its damage per mana spent ratio is the highest in the game at 0 mana spent. So its free damage! You could think of it like "this ability reduces every mob or player youll ever fight's health by x for free with no global". Though its a tiny chore to keep casting but i suppose you could make a macro that includes it somehow.

32 minutes "race picking guide"? Seriously? No offense MadSeason, I really admire your work, luv your voice and your channel, but I don't think anybody needs a race picking guide . Hear my much shorter race picking guide : PICK WHICHEVER RACE YOU LIKE! This is a role playing game. If you pick a class which you like, which suits to your playstyle, why wouldn't you do the same when you choose race?

Don't get me wrong, i understand that people are hyped for older expansions .. But people wanted classic for YEARS, then they overplayed it/finished everything within a few months, now they want TBC. What i'm trying to say is, the same will happen after a few months of TBC, or after all content is cleared " Omg i can't wait for WOTLK! "
