Levy takes a random chess game that took 5 minutes and fewer brain cells, and turns it into a 20 minute epic battle for the masses to enjoy. What a legend.
Look for checks in every position to avoid blunders that cpuld win or lose the game. But dont just look for a check to give a check because you really wanna give a check
You do realize he’s likely pretending to be upset right? Honestly if you get truly stressed and frustrated from seeing some beginner players play chess imperfectly then you got some issue’s.
@@watermelons79 Sure, but this is a great game compared to some other videos on this playlist. If Levy was NOT faking the reactions in that video where the guy missed literally 60+ M1s or the video where the opponent lost like 7 pawns for free in a king and pawn endgame then I would be surprised.
@@nandanprasad2871 Magnus carlsen is a huge name is chess community because of how good he is, but levy is helping promote chess, hence levy helps in branding.
14:18 "You don't just hang the knight! I mean wha...? Wha..? 6 seconds! Oh, the Knight's dead, bye! Whaa, why? Why is the knight dead?" I pissed myself laughing at this part 🤣🤣🤣
You timed this sale perfect -I just finished the beginner course yesterday. Signed up for plus, Caro-Kann, Middle games, and Intermediate. I can't wait to finish them all to get up to 900 and end up in one of these videos. Edit: okay yeah, Levy, I hope my purchase helps pay for one session of therapy to cope with these +11 stalemates.
Remember, you don't need a course to improve, I'm around 1400 but I beat 1700-2000s often in tournaments. Maybe they play worse thinking I wouldn't see a tactic and get forked lol. I'm in the 1300 range now, after getting tilted, taking a break hopefully will break 1600 when I get back at it
lmao watching this rn and the moment he says "if youre watching this from 6 months ago..." i immedietly check and its 6 months ago, the stars aligned today
I don't play chess, but I watch Gotham Hikaru and Coffee Chess. I love everything that embodies the spirit of competition, and the interactions are awesome between the people.
@@Haydenny It does. I think the idea was that the thumbnail position is a draw bc it's stalemate, meaning white (who I guess only has a king) doesn't lose. Thing is, though, it's not stalemate, because the king can move 1 square to the right. (And to make things worse, even if that's not the edge of the board, moving the rook down 2 squares is still checkmate)
“You guys are riding a bicycle, and just shoving nails into the tires.” You always come up with the most random thing, and it’s hilarious every time, thanks levy!
honestly, i love the storytelling ability of this guy, hes not the best player ever but he has an absolute knack for storytelling. hope he gets gm one day.
Love the concept of new chess training and learning techniques. Think fast seems like a really fun one, I've always wanted something like that. Maybe next time a few seconds longer on the stare and you'll for sure have a new chessly+ member.
As a long time casual/passive chess fan, I've never really thought about studying the game but really find it interesting to listen to people who know what they're talking about. Gotham's videos have made me want to actually start playing legitimately and try to improve, which I appreciate. That being said, I don't know that this series is making me smarter, but I'm pretty sure it's making me less dumb.
i started traveling the country by myself recently and it’s been lonely somedays, but seeing a new video of yours makes my day so much better, thank you Levy ❤
Levy is such a legend: working on an entire training program, AND still uploading daily?!! Most people can’t even do one thing, let alone do both. What a LEGEND ❤
I just can't thank you enough Levi. I haven't even used your courses, neither chessly. But you helped me get into chess. This seemingly disturbing and scary game that I had stopped playing when I was 10, you've rekindled my love for it. Thank you.
19:43 - Kxb7 is the second worst move ever after Kd7! Not only did it blunder a draw, but the draw was forced! White had NO choice to promote to a Queen meaning there was no way that White misses the draw!
I'm going to go ahead and buy your course because you crack me up and make this insanely frustrating game funny and I appreciate it. I suck, but I somehow don't think I'll care about that so much and just quit if I can find a sense of humor in it. Well done, man. Glad I found your channel.
Lackadaisical (adjective) 10:27 Lacking enthusiasm and determination; carelessly lazy. "By playing a couple of lackadaisical knight moves... Black is in serious trouble"
Hi Gotham. Just wanted to comment saying how much I love your content. It’s informative and funny and I feel like I’ve learned so much. I’ve gone from 700 to 1390 in 4 months and am now in love with chess. Thanks so much for getting me into this incredible game!
I absolutely LOVED the delivery on this video. Brilliant! I can tell it was something different and you were trying something maybe new here Levy, and this totally worked and won me over
I have bought every single one of your courses. I am definitely interested in Chessly+ and will be buying it. You have a teaching style that works exceptionally well for someone neurodivergent like me Gotham. I don't know if you also have ADHD running around up in that brain or not, but however it is that your brain works, I just wanted to say thanks for having it teach me so well. Edit: I just got the year's worth of Chessly+ as I think it'll be a good value for me going forward. I love the travelling knight so far, it is the perfect game for me to help develop my knight skills even further. It basically asks you to get a knight from a random square to a different square in X amount of moves. Really good and helps you start visualizing how to get your knights around to where you need them. Your courses have given me a lot of insight into how to develop to different squares, this is a step further.
@@PatrickCWalters I'm only 1000 Blitz and Rapid right now, but I've been improving quite well. I'm just about the level where games are wild but still logical (blunders aside)
@@PatrickCWalters I really like the middlegame course. It's less "concrete" than the opening courses in the sense that opening courses are "memorize these lines", whereas I find the middlegame course covers a lot of themes in a great way where you have to think about when and where to apply them.
I just want to say thank you for making these videos. I always sucked at chess and for my new years resolution I decided I wanted to get much better at chess. So your videos have helped out so much! Thank you Levy!
