I watched this show on TV in black and white....it seems so long ago...here I am 74 yrs old and I still love our songs that made us fall in love...a long time ago!
I'm the same age and seen a bit of Elvis on the Ed Sullivan show. But this video is the most I've seen of the full bodied Elvis with all his wiggling and jiggling. Looks like Elvis was the first singer to do The Twist.
@alissagonzales735 Likewise, Elvis leaves me "All Shook Up" and an Elvis fan for life. Now I'm 80 years old as well, and wish he was still here with us, but bless his soul, he left us his great music and performances.
Elvis your the man, I am 67 my dear mom was a big Elvis fan she would put me in my crib and play Elvis's first album. I would jump for hour's to his song's. As I got older I wore that record out. No other entertainer will ever take Elvis's place, not in my heart .
He was a trail blazer I’ve always known the music but not him as a man I’m reviewing his stuff he was a leader God sent it’s just wild man watching him it’s unreal way far ahead of his time.
Hey blue mountain, I'm 67, I was always and still am a huge Elvis fan. He now has his baby girl Lisa and his grandson with him in Heaven. Singing those songs he loved so much to Jesus 😂
@@rondaevans8514 he can live all the people that he truly love and those who really love him. I don't think that Precilla really loves him. She doesn't know him. It's truly need education but what she has is hate:she takes Lisa to that society.
Perhaps to some. I love Elvis. But this song. Breaks my heart. After being in two relationships. Where. I was always put second after their first lives . Daily reminders . Of their. Trips , gifts, songs, even intimate details. My spirit my heart my self confidence took a five . Songs throughout our lives bring us back to a memory. But not always pleasant ones . Rest. Easy. Elvis. Lisa Marie. & family. 💔
His death was one news flash ýou remember the rest of your life, where you were, who was with you etc.. like with JFK in Dallas or Ike announcement that the nation wide road building program to open up the country.
He just happened to have everything at the right moment. The look and the talent, but his voice is what set him apart. You could just see his passion for performing. At that time his voice was one of a kind
A one-off rare gem who will be missed for eternity. His legacy will never die. Generations to come will still be listening to Elvis and marvelling at his extraordinary talent. 💋❤💋❤💋❤💋❤
You could see his physical discomfort with the suit and then physical restraint of his natural movement. But, it is an extraordinary and soulful rendition . Beautifully done.
Yes I remember watching his appearance on TV. We lost him far too soon. His Memphis Mafia led him astray into wild territory with partying and drugs unfortunately.
I've been a big Elvis fan for a while, though I'm not from the 50s I'm also a fan of that era. Recently I saw a list of the top 30 or so songs from 1957 and I realized why he was so successful. He had this charm that made most of the other artists seem sort of bland, they could be extremely talented but they had nothing on Elvis! What a legend, no wonder about 60 years later the world still falls in love with him 💕
It's crazy how the most zealot of fans always think it's a competition. Like there can never be just many or even just several great singers. Someone has to be the best, no matter how different their sound and style is. Someone has to be the best. Probably a uniquely American thing.
I know but I loved him! I saw every movie he made. I'm 71 so I grew up with Elvis. It didn't matter if he couldn't act or not...to me his movies where amazing!
Just WOW! Sublime! Supreme! Authentic! Awesome! Beautiful! Talented! Gracious! Humble! Charming! The list is endless for describing this one in a ZILLION guy!!!! The world still wants, needs and LOVES you buddy!!!! Thank you Elvis. I do not know what else to say. Thank you.
@Heavenly Presley so incredible that Elvis has a global army in his corner and constantly gains new recruits - me included. I agree and believe everything you said to be true. Elvis was a rare species of human that is never going to be matched or equalised. This song will absolutely be my wedding song. It as perfect as he is. :)
Just came back from the New Elvis movie tonight. It’s a Must See!! The way people used this man and the stuff they made him do. Was a true tragedy. How you can feel so much hurt and happiness for one man.
I saw it twice to make sure I didn’t miss anything. I came away seeing Elvis in a whole new light. He was a talented man that didn’t deserve being used a abused. Dead at 42!! OMG! He didn’t even take care of himself near the end.
Yes, I felt very hurt for him. Col. had too much control over him. Like Priscilla said though, Elvis could had told Col. No. He would have had to get another manager but Elvis was on top already.I'd like to think he would have done just fine. Especially doing more dramatic movies. Going to Europe and performing as he wanted.. only thing, Col. would have wanted his 8 mil. That list he made for EP to pay up before Elvis wanted him to go. Colonel was just diabolical, so greedy. for lack of a better word. As charming as Priscilla said Col could be, to me, it was just a show, a front, for his manipulative ways. Maybe Col. did love EP in his own way but I didn't see enough of that along the way... When Col. Died. He died without much money left. He gambled so much of what Elvis made for him. He pushed EP always to work. When Elvis got sick, he still wanted him to "get on that stage"! Thus, the drugs would keep him going. Crazy but true... Love EP to this day, always will... ❤ TCB ⚡
Actualy I think Elvis was goofing around and just pretending to feel uncomfortable for a laugh..he then sings beautifully giving a great performance of one of his great early tracks. Elvis forever!!
Elvis started a revolution that we are still in. We don't know as of yet what it's all about because we're still in 'it' but future historians will all agree that that young good looking kid (and his guitar) from Tupelo Mississippi utterly transformed our civilization
You got to melt when Elvis sings his firsts songs,he was old enough to be my father, but damm,l don’t care.My 3daughters love Elvis and my 7 grandchildren love Elvis.he left behind his legacy for all of us to injoy♥️
Also, everything he did just came natural for him. taught himself to play piano, guitar, sang in church, took care of his parents (and everyone else) and treated everyone with respect. Elvis said, "If they can spend their hard earned money and stand in line to get tickets, the least I can do is shake their hands, sign autographs and maybe kiss them, besides doing my best to give them a good show." Very religious down home person with respect for everyone.
I've seen n lived through the Michael Jackson era, The Beetles era, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis n Buddy Holly era, but never have I ever seen no one like Elvis Presley, Elvis is n always will b THE KING OF ROCK N ROLL
♥️🥰🎉Celebration in his memory.I thought he was among those most talented and awesomely handsome man.Romantic was his fashion.2023 and remembering how much he remains in the hearts of his fans.😇🌟
Steve Allen had the nerve to try and dictate anything to Elvis. A growing pain for Elvis ~ yet still shows his kindness, and humble humility of the gift that is dearest Elvis.
That's not an easy song to sing. Elvis is doing a great job of managing those chords. I don't think there are too many singers around who could handle that tune
"The NEW Elvis Presley " Steve Allen tried to make Elvis look so the Parents would like him, its like taking a diamond and making it look like plain glass
brad fiser .....You are so correct....Steve Allan made Elvis look like an idoit...I can't imagine how Elvis felt !! Elvis was too great a celebrity, to be on Steve Allan show !!! I love Elvis to this day...When he was just getting started in his career, I was three, or four years old...I would play with my dolls, and sing Elvis songs to them....lol...I loved Elvis then, and even more...today... "Our family lived only 20 miles from Memphis, where Elvis lived. We lived on the Tennessee & Arkansas line." That close to my four year old Crush, and my parents wouldn't take me to any of his concerts....I never did see him in Person, but I would listen to him, and Day Dream....I still do that, to this day....Lol. I love his gospel too....I believe God wanted him to present those songs, to the World...I can watch T.V. now, and I can see clearly that God was talking to him, through those beautiful Gospel Songs.....His Maker was speaking to him, and asking him to give his heart, and life to Him. GOD gave Elvis that beautiful voice and "Stage Aura." I believe that's why, Elvis was so unhappy. "Plus, the fact that Priscilla left him, and took "Lisa Marie." jus' sayin' .......So sad though, Elvis is in Heaven, and we all love him, "to the Moon, and back." 💋🕊🕊
I don't think this show was embarrassing. He rebelled against the suit with his blue suede shoes and let's be honest. Elvis made any suit look good. I know he stole hearts with this performance
Only the KING OF ROCK!!!!He has never had any competition. With all of the impersonators out there, you would think that someone would come close! NEVER...that perfect GOAT could not be copied! The one TRUE GOAT!!!
Roy, doesn't matter how old the lyrics are, or who sings them, they all mean the same in any way. Proving to one another that love truly exists throughout the years. 😘 Linda
Elvis....a humble man. Steve "No Talent" Allen....just the words I wrote, in addition to being no more than an arrogant loser that couldn't accept Elvis' "never witnessed before" awesome talent. In the end, history has shown Elvis to endure all time while Steve Who Allen no one today has heard of.
NEEDY ELVIS, WE WANT YOU TOO, PRECIOUS MAN. AND WE NEED YOUR BEAUTIFUL VOICE , AGAIN. YOU ARE AND WILL ALWAYS BE OUR KING. FOREVER THE KING!!!!!! WE WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER!!!!!!💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕🎶
he felt sold out😮.he was besutiful performer in every way .He looked Gracefull one could see him controlling his urge to move and dance freely. He was wonder fiven too early for that era.A gift misunderstood but he was loved.A besutiful soul. This song is so besutiful.❤❤❤❤
