Armand busting out the Shakespeare like an awkward High School Drama kid who is still trying to figure how to romance someone was one of the highlights for me!
I found your slip of the tongue and nearly calling Armand... Amadeus funny... though. the latter was shot in Prague as well. I think the site with the arches in the scene where Armand confronts Claudia and also bops Santiago... was also used in Amadeus... though I could be wrong.
I accidentally called Armand “Amadeo” which was the name Marius (his maker) gave him after he purchased him from the brothel. But I didn’t realize Amadeus was shot in Prague, interesting! Good eye in picking out those locations!
The Estates Theatre (where Lestat performed) was used for opera scenes in Amadeus! it’s also where Don Giovanni had its world premiere. So happy to have it on film again for this series, we love to see a production flex 😊
@@AutumnBottomBrown I've been reading the books and I am SO obsessed with him. I want to study him like a bug! I'm excited but terrified to see him in a very Devil's Minion kinda way next episode.
This occured to me last year after Rashid was revealed to be Armand, but after knowing Armands history as being sold to a brothel, it really puts Daniels off hand insult of calling him a "rent boy" in a different perspective. That must have hurt Armand more than Daniel could have known considering he actually was forced into being a rent boy.
@@dovike.V.that's one of the things I love about this show, there are so many things packed into every episode, some that you don't even notice until later, and some you look back at after you watch later episodes. The first time you watch that, before its revealed that Rashid is Armand, he looks like he's annoyed with Malloy. After it's revealed he's Armand, and considering his past, that look is like barely controlled anger. And then he leaves the room like he had to walk out before he killed Daniel.
There's no way Claudia isn't the one who slit Lestat's throat, that's the only reason she'd be that worried about Louis "painting a picture." Also Louis finding out about Armand's past and then immediately going back to his pimp persona. Our man is so awful 😂 I love him though
The part when the menstrual blood happened had me giggling because I was so horrified that they were going to go THERE and I thought "OH GOD, SHE IS JUST LIKE HER DAD!!" and then I was so relieved when nothing happened, lol. I was a little icked out by how quickly Louis slipped back into "pimp mode" once he found out Armand's backstory. 🥴 "The wilderness that is our daughter" I'M FINE EVERYTHING IS FINE.😭 This is some serious edging, and not the fun kind. *coughs* Who said that?
Yeah the way louis treats armand post museum really rubs me the wrong way. Tbf tho it does seem to be the type of dynamic armand actively seeks out, we see it in pretty much all his relationships except daniel. On the other hand none of these ppl know what a safe word is and I need them to chill tf out lol.
That museum scene where Armand is telling his backstory and how he was sold to the brothel, and Louis being a pimp in the show. . . "I am good at running things"
IKR!!! And then the next time we see them together it's because Louis "summoned" Armand and then basically ordered him to hold the umbrella over him. 💀
Louis being so fixated on the mixed up photos and blowing up at Armand while Daniel is having an identity crisis in the other room will never not be funny to me. As always, your videos are a joy and my favorite post episode watch! ❤
louis reviving his pimp persona after his lover reveals his past of being human trafficked and prostituted was such an insane move i am never getting over it
Snatching Santiago’s tongue was another Louis the Pimp moment - can’t afford to look weak on Liberty Street! Lestat would’ve combusted in desire if he’d been there
Okay, it's definitely a pattern with me. I watched the episode twice again & here I am. Louis pulled out his pimp daddy Lu on Armand, a former prostitute. Wild! Also, I thought Assad was fine before he took off his shirt & now I'm in a suspended state of swooning.
Great video - I liked your connecting the baby loves windows play to Lestat’s calling her a little bird. Someone online also said that the play could also be seen as a reenactment of Paul’s suicide (hearing the birds, plummeting to his death). Louis could not have been unaffected by it. This show definitely likes to poke at people’s traumas!
Armand really is that toxic combo of dumbassery and confidence. Oh, Claudia is getting sick and tired of this role? Well I better make her wear the outfit 24/7! It's peak "Quit crying or I'll give you something to cry about" energy.
@@EmeraldRoseDragon I need you to know this popped up out of context in my notifications & I thought you were saying Jacob said we won’t seem *HIM* again and the absolute devastation and panic I felt has never been greater
@Lovemydawg I'm just going by what Jacob said, he said the bench scene was the last time we'd see Dreamstat. We'll definitely be seeing the non hallucination one soon
I lost my shit when Louis stood up and super sped over to Santiago and grabbed his tongue, my boy Louis was like keep talking shit keep mocking me and see what happens 😂, i thought a full on vampire fight was about to break out
i love how sceptical everyone is but i have to say i was just absolutely enraptured by assad‘s portrayal of armand like i am being thoroughly manipulated and i‘m a willing participant. this episode is really what did it for me. he‘s evil and i‘m absolutely fine with it. gaslight me more king
What an episode!!! Louis being the toxic emo boy wanting to have it all is so frustrating and enticing to watch! His struggle with wanting to be seen as an artist was so relatable! Oh! And the tongue grabbing of Santiago?!? 🫠 Armand! What can I say? Loved to see him being vulnerable, romantic, cunning and manipulative. The moment in the museum was so captivating! Still don’t trust him! Santiago being the jealous, petty, #2 in the coven is hilarious to watch! Although his chemistry with Claudia is endearing to watch, despite knowing what’s coming. Claudia was such a revelation to watch! Her vulnerability and viciousness was captivating. And the singing and dancing?! Superb! And who can forget, “you chose another one over me!” What a line delivery! And Dreamstat…what a sassy bitch! Loved his sarcastic yet also gentle interactions with Louis. His disdain for Armand makes me giddy with delight. Can this show last forever please?! Season 3 couldn’t come fast enough!
@@Wattsupwithhybristophilia Louis was the submissive with Lestat. Armand is a total sub. He was given a job he didn't want, he has been abused and pimped out all his life. Louis has always been a dominant, I think he and Lestat switched. But he has been mopping around and appearing weak. Grabbing Santiago's tounge brough the pimp back. I , for one, is happy with this.
i feel so bad for my girl claudia but i support louis rights and wrongs i‘m sorry :( hers and lestats too, they are all flawed but louis can’t help it okayy he‘s just a girl, also he’s just in a constant manic episode at this point why is this man imagining his ex eating his hobby
I have this feeling that Daniel was going to be a victim of Louis and “something changed” and from the photos Daniel was looking at on his computer of him and Louis I wouldn’t be shocked if Daniel helped them a lot but someone (wink wink) protected him And I must say the way they took from the books and explained Armand’s beginnings was spectacular
Truly jaw dropping!! I will say it til I’m blue in the face: I adore how they incorporate book elements into the show to elevate not just the show but the source material
@@AutumnBottomBrownI think what’s also telling is the power dynamic shift something felt intentionally off the later half of the episode .. Louis almost felt more predatory and in charge by the time they were sitting on the park bench. It’s almost like as soon as he found out Armand was in many ways a prostitute and prisoner of the coven he began to roll right into pimp mode.
I don't know how you do it but your chaotic reactions encapsulate everything I feel when I watch these episodes - great job! Highlights for me were Lestat being comedy gold, Armand revealing his tragedy before flexing his ability to terrorise, Claudia's stage presence and epic confrontation with her brother/father/betrayer, and Louis matching his new partner's freak by displaying his emotional side in that heartbreaking 'farewell' before immediately reverting to Louis The Pimp with 'Arun' - god, I LOVE this show!!!! Great vid, Autumn!
although i do get everyone being like 'lestat, lestat, lestat' i am also like 'claudia, claudia, claudia'. our poor girl is going through it. the first time i watched the episode, i thought there was an issue with the edit on the last scene with how the episode ended. i feel like i'm being edged until next week lol
My absolute highlight from this ep is definitely the Armand backstory scene, me being an Armand girlie (gn) aside, Assad Zaman the actor you are...after the scene there was TOTAL SILENCE in my voice chat with other iwtv sicko friends...
At this point the way the show digs into every possible shade of grey each character is made up of is genuinely breathtaking. Did not know I could hold my breath for 50 minutes. Eat it. Eat it. Eat it Eat it Eat it Santiago.
I wonder if they re-envisioned Louis as a pimp entirely because of Armand's backstory. Also wondering if Armand stopped Louis from trying to turn Daniel, not just kill him.
i love the implication that seeing as dreamstat is louis' subconscious, him picking that specific suit for lestat and it being louis' favourite means that he was fully aware of his initials being inscribed on the backside of that pocket.
1) Your lime outfit (including the earrings) is *chefs kiss* 2) Your introduction to the analysis with Hey Ya was all I needed. 3) I'm dying for this show!! I feel like Armand is letting this interview happen to appease Louis, because he believes that he can "erase" their memories AGAIN if things get out of control. I think Armand not only messed with Daniel's memories, but also with Louis's. I think he made him forget that he master-minded Claudia's death, and the fact that Lestat was/is very much alive. If memory is the monster, than Armand is Dr. Frankenstein.
There are so many threads to be pulled at. So many stories to follow. I am fascinated. Armand’s story, Lestat, Claudia and the dress maker, Santiago and the coven, Daniel’s story slowly revealing itself.
So from now on we are indeed getting the "real" Lestat... Cannot wait! Louis is gonna freak the fck out!!! The way I screamed with that ending 🤬🤣 Danny, you in danger gurl... I'm so nervous about Dubai!!! So many feelings in this one... On the play Baby Lou reminds me of Paul, the birds, her death... Madeleine making her a YELLOW dress... I agree and also get everyone's side, Loumand is MESSY, Claudia has had it but also all that coven bullshit should just end, everybody screws up anyway! Louis might not know yet but if Santiago becomes the leader, he can do as he pleases which will set Louis off and how convenient it would be to have both Claudia and the coven taken down RIGHT ARMAND? SOUNDS FAMILIAR?! I refuse to believe we're halfway through already, I wanna watch it all but I don't want it to end 😩 So excited for Mara AAAAA!!!!!! P.S.: New teaser just dropped... 🤯😰
Santiago is definitely the kind of friend I absolutly do not want to have in my circle! he is so treacherous!! he literally could make Claudia feel somewhat understood and could have a friend in Santiago 😔😔 they literally kissed (platonic way) on a motor cycle! and yet why he put all of those smiley face and friendly acts towards Claudia if in the end he is gonna stab her and impaled her right on a stick for her to face her judgment and met her end 😭😭
Okay... okay... but also... does Louis look like his face is pummeled in the Talamasca photo carrying Daniel?! Did Armand attack him?! And then alter Louis's memories to blame it on Lestat?! And I having a stroke?! Yes.... and yes...
Agreed on Goldilocks! I’ve always said that she got what she deserved for breaking & entering into their home, then ruffling up their seat cushions, eating up their food, & finally messing all their beds up! Total brat who got her comeuppance when they found her still in their house, asleep in the Baby Bear’s bed! Lmao 😈👊🏾❤
MARA!!!!!!!!! Ive wanted to hear an interview with her FOREVER !!!!!!!!!! My literal reaction to this episode and Loustat content was also death, relatable.
This was news to me that Jacob Anderson has an alter ego, Raleigh Riche. He has a song called Bloodspot and it is a perfect song for Louis and Lestat. Your commentary is very fun. I will be back. ❤
I don't think Daniel has what we know of as Parkinson's, I think his autoimmune condition is a result of Armand erasing the Devil's Minion era AND I think one of Daniel's wives is Armand. Like Alice could very well be Armand, that's how he keeps tabs on Daniel too. Daniel's not talking to Alice when they catch up about the Buick or whatever in his memoir. That's Armand being "protective" ie anxiously attached gremlin mode.
I just...desperately want Lestat to be at least sometimes actually communicating with Louis in this way, no matter how unlikely - the sass is too good. I just can't. Some of the shit he railed off with seemed... Unlikely for Louis to have subconsciously made up on his own, especially with regards to Armand. But I know, I know...artistic liberties. STILL...
Noooo I just made a connection about the birds flying and seducing baby lu out the window and Louis brothers Paul and the birds that spoke to him and him falling(walking purposely off) the roof. Also speaking of Paul, if he did have schizophrenia- Louis might have it too since it’s something that gets passed down genetically (I believe) idk thoughts?
Is anyone else connecting the news article of the Theatre de Vampire burning down with Louis developing the fire gift? He even said that it only seems to work when he thinks if something that pisses him off. I'm anticipating an eruption of anger from Louis that results in the burning of the theater.
@@BriarPatchNyraAnd in the books, Armand can’t control fire. They’re clearly changing things up. Also, it’s pretty common to mislead fans during interviews. It’s called a reveal.
I was hoping I could finally say first to be the first of Autumn Bottom’s commenting, but alas another one got to it first, okay now to watch the episode and then come back to flail along
I’ve actually done that in all the previous videos, but I cut it out of the final edit because I thought “people will have already seen the episode by the time they view this, so my predictions are useless.” So it’s good to know that you thought it was interesting!
Ok kids! You all have a homework assignment! Rewatch the episode. We watched a character flash on screen for only a moment or two..Raglan James. Huge important player, he is a rogue Talamascan, who’s obsession with Lestat even fools the brat prince himself, into switching bodies temporarily..has Lestat met Daniel? Maybe? Maybe it’s Raglan? We will see
I have to keep reminding myself that i used to hate lestat i swear i promise but did I have a meltdown at the guy melting on the park bench? yes yes i did what is this show doing to me.
I had the same thought about Louis wanting a second chance at doing the interview because he intends on ending his life. The you and me speech he makes to Claudia in season two episode one he say as long as she walks the earth he won’t face the flames.
I do talk about the books to give further context for why I think certain things are going to happen, but I’ve triiiiiied with the episode reactions to not talk as explicitly about the spoiler-y things to come if they haven’t been teased already in trailers and sneak peaks. For this video specifically I don’t talk about anything spoilery (I don’t think) in the reaction. If you look at my chapters in the description, and you make it this far I’d skip the post episode discussion of my top moment number 4 and then skip the “baby delulu part 1” in the meaty morsels section.
I’m glad you asked! I had Assad pronounce his name for me so I’d know how to pronounce it properly (I have the video on my Twitter @smokiemoonpie ) and the emphasis is on the first syllable, not the second. I still don’t get it completely right; I’m practicing, but putting emphasis on the second half is apparently an American thing.
@@AutumnBottomBrown.... Yeah, the English language really really likes putting emphasis on the second syllable of words and it's especially noticeable thing in North American English accents, for sure. So yeah when pronouncing his name... English speakers are having to fight against all of the language instincts that have been hammered into us since we were children... Of course it doesn't make pronouncing people's names correctly impossible... it's just an extra hurdle that North American English speakers have to get over with varying difficulty, of course. It's totally doable! It just might take a little bit of practice and conscious effort when speaking compared to when pronouncing other words in the sentence. It's the burden of pronouncing words from a language that has a completely different pronunciation system than your native one. Regarding any language. Someone else told me that Assad means Lion in Arabic... Which I think is beautiful and fitting... He's spoken about the overwhelming, at times, anxiety that he feels about being in such a important large role in such a visible worldwide show... It's really brave to stick with it, IMO! I think a name with Lion as its meaning fits in how his is living his life currently. 😊🥰
How is it the vampire stuck in perpetual puberty is the most mature and reasonable of this entire theater? I also love Louis, but this episode more than ever had me going *Shut* 🤌 (couldn't find a vertical one of these)
how the fuck did they do the mimicking because i thought it was dubbed over by jacob but now that i'm hearing it again there's like a different timbre to his voice from jacob's. did he actually just do that himself or is jacob just really good at capturing ben's vibe what the fuck
DUDE!! How the FUCK did they do that?? I’ve gone back and forth so much. I can’t tell if it’s Jacob mimicking Ben’s tone or if it’s an audio blending of both actors reading the lines the same way kind of how they do in musical biopics when they blend the actor and performers voices for songs or if Ben is an actual real life mimic. It was done to such incredible effect!!
@@AutumnBottomBrown oh now that you've brought up blending i feel like that hasss to be it, but i dont know 😭 yet another instance of everyone on this show putting their entire pussy into everything ig! either way the s's are ben's
