Since I don't have a four door wrangler I decided to build a very similar rig. Just on a whole different budget, I found a Jeep Grand Cherokee and went to chopping and got me something very close. Definitely a summer time ride!
That thing turned out pretty neat looking! Building a custom vehicle with your buddies and watch them break you stuff, priceless! Lol!! Great weekend fun and more to come with it
Swap out the seats for some similar to boat seats, plastic with removable cushions, and strip out the carpet. Just make it a little more accepting to the elements with a roll bar and soft top
I had to run..came back to watch the ending.. looks great!! Just have to make a waterproof canvas snap cover for the dashboard..and a car cover when It rains.. Love it!!🎉

This is my idea with my jeep in about eight or so years. It’s still decent body and all that but It will just be a trail rig. Gonna try to keep it as nice as I can as long as I can. But the ultimate goal if it gets all fucked up is to build a nice looking cage after chopping the top off. I spend some of my time in the dunes as well. My reason for waiting so long to chop it besides, that is that I don’t have a place to store it and it rains a lot here.
How come you guys act like 4.0l have a bad rep? Got my wrangler with 25k miles and ran the clock up to 300k and literally only did plugs, a handful of radiators and water pumps and an alternator.. I only had that 1 4.0 but that thing ran like a top until I totaled it. Wasn't even really totaled but the insurance gave me a deal I couldn't refuse for a 300k mile north eastern wrangler..
@janetbrowder6685 if they dont adore them its prolly just cuz they have to deal with em everyday and forget how bad other engines are. But they can take some heat. Mine over heated countless times. One time it over heated just right so the temp gauge never moved. Meanwhile I'm doing 70 down the freeway wondering why the cruise control isn't working. So I step on the gas more and nothing.. by time I got off the highway it was barely only running on a couple cylinders. I let it cool for a few min and added what water I had on hand. Limped to a gas station still missing a few cylinders. Once it totally cooled off it was like nothing happened. Another time I was in dunkin drive thru and the top of the radiator exploded and completely covered the car in front of me with steaming hot coolant on 90° day. 😆😆 fkn lazy ass dunkin employees sitting on their ass making people wait 20 min..
This makes me sad I would have traded you my wj to destroy mine has had lifter noise for the last 100,000 miles still runs every day just broke my soul when it fired up and was as smooth as can be

Am i able to get ahold of you through email or something about some xj parts? Specifically I'm looking for renix era black interior pieces ive only seen one factory black interior in person and a couple pictures online and only the renix era ones that i know of had black as a option and the ones ive seen have all had the Cherokee cheif logo on the side. Its gonna be hard to find because i want parts in good condition not faded or cracked something that cleans up nice. I'd like a dash and bottom dash trim then a center console and some of the interior plastics but im ok with a black and gray theme I just want more black especially the dash and lower trim and center console then as mich other stuff as i can find. Its for a jeep ive had for a long time its actually my first xj its heavily modified but its very nice i like making the interiors nice im always snagging good interior pieces for Cherokees at the wrecking yards and stuff and ive been on the hunt for black interior parts for this cherokee i dont like painting that stuff im picky.
Maybe so, but it was enroute to the scrap yard. Scrap guy makes a call to Dex, especially with Jeeps. He pays more sight unseen than scrap price. If it indeed becomes street legal, numerous people will drive it. Even all the dogs will get to ride. 👍👍👍👍
