Get a deeper inside look of what went down during the taping of the American Hit show #SoulTrain. This segment features a number of dancers that share their experiences and memories of what it was like working with #DonCornelius.
Soul Train got you ready for Saturday night. After you watched, you washed your car, cruised into the neighborhood then hung out at the park with your boys. Afterwards got home, ate Moms dinner, laid your clothes out for the night took a power nap, got up got ready, picked up your homie or lady friend, got your head right (you know what I mean) then headed to the club/clubs for a night out dancing and partying till 4 am. Good clean fun! How about that youngsters!.......
That the dancers did not get paid would never happen today. There should have been some type of labor law instituted. I realize many went on to do greater things due to Soul Train's influence, but these dancers made the show what it was. Compensation, even minimum wage was only fair. Can someone address if American Bandstand had this practice. I wonder if insurance coverage was in place to cover accidents. Wow!
