That's right and every manufacturer puts them right in the middle of the display, I don't want it and yet there is so little options on the market for this niche. I am still using my Poco F2 Pro with motorised camera for that exact reason, I want the full, undisturbed display and don't care for the selfie camera.
The upcoming z60spro will have hole punch so , the ultra product line (z50&60 ultra, axon 40 ultra)has always been a flex for zte on their UDC Technology.
It seems like this tech will soon be 'adopted' by Samsung and Google too. The upside with these Chinese brands is that they aren't afraid to risk innovation.
google AI Generative AI is experimental. Yes, the Nubia Z60 Ultra has several AI features: Front camera The Z60 Ultra has a front-facing camera that's hidden under the display. It uses the Front Camera Spiritual Transparency Algorithm 5.0 and an AI Deep Sense Engine to enhance front camera imaging. The camera has a 12MP sensor with 2.24 μm pixels. AI frame sensing The Z60 Ultra has AI frame sensing technology that adjusts frequency and core based on gaming scenes and actions. This can improve energy efficiency and reduce minor lags. True perception technology The Z60 Ultra's true perception technology can frame by frame monitor rendering and drawing conditions, identify game scenes and actions, and improve energy efficiency.
*The main reason I would prefer to buy this is the uninterrupted display...* I don't take selfies and do not want selfie camera at all... Instead give me that awesome screen. I am willing to pay extra for removing all holes from display.
I honestly don't care much about selfie camera. I'm all in for a big beautiful uninterrupted display even if it meant sacrificing the front camera quality. Kudos to Redmagic and Nubia for working on bettering the under display camera. The software support is what I would be worried about in case of Nubia and Redmagic. I just wish it had great custom ROM support at least to keep it alive even if the manufacturer stops giving updates.
Super different, I love it❤ finally something a lil different!!!!!!! Wow all those accessories definitely worth 700!!!! Amazing unboxing, this is what the new phone experience use to be like 😍😍😍 just use a filter for the selfie an your good
This is my dream phone, I’m one of those people who don’t care about the front cam and miss the old days when brands tried to go notchless. And the back camera array is just a dream come true, best part no curved screen.
Yeah bruh full screen phones were something else, once you start using a full screen device there's no going back, idk why they stopped making those pop up camera phones, those were sooo good,i kinda miss my k20 pro
no no it is not... you'd be suprised to know they hardly ever do updates for their phones... an the global/US version lack half of whats in the chinese versions ... its a huge mess with them
If this phone uses a normal selfie cam with a hole punch, it wouldn't be so unique and interesting. The display is something that I value more than the selfie camera.
The fact that this phone has 4k120fps across all lenses like Sony phones leaves Apple, Samsung, Google and all other high end brands no excuse. This is a small but rich feature that should be on every flagship going forward.
Amazing review. Great coverage of all the features. Really appreciated the comparison of 35mm focal length to a 'standard' smartphone camera! Smooth editing and transitions in the video too!
@@C4ETech Ash I loved your videos ❤ May you please make a camera comparison video of Nubia Z60 Ultra vs Oppo Find X7 Ultra vs Oppo X100 Pro vs IPhone 15 Pro Max and also show the battery timing of these flagship phones if possible 🙏🏻
I would love to have this type of phone because i really hate punch-hole camera line-up. And personally, i don't take much selfies so this works for me.

I never take selfies, so the everyday enjoyably of an uninterrupted screen is preferable to me. Selfie cam only needs to be good enough for a very occasionally zoom meeting and this seems good enough for that. If they can improve it even a little for next time it won't even be an issue. I agree 100% that these camera centric phones should have a dedicated shutter button! Overall the large battery, waterproofing, good display, speakers and decent price, this seems like a great package. I think I'm going to give one a try.
Haven't been that excited about a phone in a long time. Absolutely love the behind-screen selfie cam, massive battery, and the blistering fast SoC. Really impressed by the bold yet sleek design of the cameras too, although I would choose the stark black version over the Starry Night. I just wish my daily driver was older/slower so that I had a valid reason to upgrade. My Mi 9T Pro from 4 years ago still feels just as fast as when I bought it. Anyhow this bodes well for the future. I was worried we'd be stuck with punch-through or notched front displays forever.
Man your way of making video is very unique and feels really Premium Experience Overall I really like little details and also very soothing not like other videos where they are shouting and all Appreciated❤
Some of us don't care for the selfie camera and would definitely prefer a clean looking screen... I do would had like to have wireless charger but it's not a deal breaker imo. Maybe a screen with LTPO would have been a nice touch, but I also understand this would increase the price.
I am a techie and use my phone for media consumption - to me, the rectangular design of the screen, as opposed to the extremely rounded corners of the iphone for example is a huge plus as i get to hold something like a monitor in my hand, rather than a communications device. This is pushed even further by the fact that the bezels are super slim and there is no selfie punchhole. Compare the screen real estate of this phone to an iphone. the iPhone 15 has, what to my eyes, is 15-20% LESS screen real estate due to the pill and the loss of screen at the corners. That is huge. I am not an influencer, I don't do video calls on my phone, I don't post selfies on my stories - power users tend to not do that. To me, the under display camera is a huge plus - I would use my selfie 2 times in a year and it still has it, its just poor quality but its there in case you need it. The display, on the other hand is something that I use every day. To me, this is a plus because the thing that I use every day is benefitted by the under-display selfie camera, whereas the thing that I use twice a year takes a performance hit. It makes sense, doesn't it? Then we have the arguably pretty capable cameras, the best SoC and a literal two day battery and what you get is a media consumption powerhouse at an affordable price. To me, this is the phone that actually makes me want to upgrade to a more than a 300 euro phone. The latest and greatest flagships are gimmicks. The things they offer at 1300 euro can be found in phones that cost 300 euro, with the main differentiator being the picture quality, which people tend to value most. In this case, this phone brings unique specs/features that most phones do not offer and all of these features just make sense to me personally and have me very interested in the phone. Selfie cameras are never fantastic, they will always be sub-par when compared to the main cameras on the same phone, so you are always better off taking pictures with the back cameras anyways, the front facing one is just there for convenience just so that you can see yourself at the same time. And I don't think that it is a camera-centric phone - its more of a power phone that pushes its specs to their reasonable limit - one of the biggest batteries, one of the biggest (if not the biggest) screen real estates, three cameras with OIS, good build quality, the best SoC on the market right now - It just ticks all of the boxes, not just one.
@@lltechview no store in the republic of Ireland sells them maybe online not sure about the UK if they were available in a UK store they would work in Ireland Nubia isn't the only phone not sold in Ireland vivo Poco phones are hard to get its xiaomi mainly some OPPO phones Samsung Nokia that's it
Awesome review, covered everything from hardware to software through speakers, performance and features. Awesome work, especially for such a niche phone, reviews for this model are mostly pathetic or AI generated.
Quick explanation of Nubia Z60 Ultra cameras: UW camera on Z60 Ultra = 18mm = 0.75x zoom Standard main cameras on other smartphone have ~23-25mm = which is 1.0x Main camera on Z60 Ultra = 35mm = 1.5x zoom Periscoped camera on Z60 Ultra = 85mm = they says it is 3.3x, but it actually is more likely to be 3.5x zoom
🎖🏆Nubia made the best looking phone I have ever seen and that box is full of all kind of fantastic extras which makes a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra unboxing the most boring experience ever and Ultra phone too is in boring colours that it's unbelievable really, what are they thinking in Samsung headquarters?
They did a better job, A phone focused on optics, The rear cameras. It's for those people who loves taking pictures of Things, Places, People..etc. I would straight away buy this phone if they start selling it in India. I'm not someone who takes selfies (FYI)
Hey dears, is it safe to buy from the site u have mentioned?? Just asking because I m planning to buy the Nubia z60 ultra from that site. Pls reply, i would be very grateful @ash
10:02 thanks! hard to find this benchmark for this phone! 3800 points is not far from the 3600 points of SD 8s Gen3 phone. While a cooler will help to achieve 5000 points, it will result to an even more expensive phone
Yeah but most people don't really use front cameras 😂😂😂 I've been using my smartphone for 3 years almost and I've hardly used front camera like 10-15 times so i say it's worth it
I think so few phones have a lack of a hole punch camera, glad there are options without it. I'm specifically choosing a phone with this feature, as I don't take selfies.
I love this design, but until they sort out their terrible software support and customer support I'm staying clear of ZTE phones. They need to go global properly before I buy their phones. Nice efforts though!
This selfie camera under the screen is clearly out of place on a photo-video centric smartphone, and which above all wants to be mainstream, on the Redmagic 9 Pro which is a gaming smartphone it's fine, but not here. But Nubia's real problem is the software tracking, which really leaves something to be desired.
This was an attempt for Nubia to create a flagship cameraphone. The design surpasses all of those phones that were created before it. The only let down is that they used a cheap, old OV64B sensor from Omnivision which can only be found on Xiaomi midrange phones which is expected to produce poor, pale, and lifeless photo quality.
I just got the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra I wish it came with what this phone had it didn't even come with a charging brick. Samsung needs to take NOTES.
If they made a smaller version of the phone with only the primary camera, a headphone jack and a 5.8 to 6 in screen, it would be my favourite phone for sure. Who uses the front camera for anything other than videocalls anyways? At wich point the enconding fks up the video too so...
I disagree, the main reason I am looking at this phone is because it doesn't have a notch or hole in the screen.... Selfie shmellfie the video quality on conference calls is never that great to justify the need for a great image.... Nubia keep doing what you're doing
i am planning to buy this phone please suggest ur experience with this phone 🙏🏼tell me any issues with this phone somebody says the phone have overheating issues and software issues ...plsss reply to me
The phone is not under rated at all. Either The company is very stupid or they have a niche because of which no ads no marketing and no launch in markets where people would genuinely buy. Even if I want there is no one advertising, selling or servcing this device.
you want a selfie? flip the phone don't ruin a screen with a camera most people won't ever use at all The under display one here is only for face unlock, nubia is smarter than most brands at this particular point.
would love to see a comparison against vvivo x100 and oppo find 7x ultra. Thanks for the video on this. Not to many have covered this phone. Considering the price to specs sounds like a grreat buy
I take so few selfies and usually they are just explanatory - i am not trying to look pretty. i dont mind the phone having a camera "forehead" but i do however mind hole punches, notches, teardrop blablas. The best and most elegant solutions i saw yet are the flip cameras from older zenfones. but this is a good second choice for me, as i really dont care about taking selfies. for the amount of extra cost and inconveniences a selfie camera creates, i am fine to see it or its quality get butchered.
@@C4ETech thanks. I read somewhere that the photographer edition had some ai capabilities, but I couldn't confirm if the Bob photographer edition also had them
