Hi welcome to JP. why do you need a garbage bin? you wont need it unless you have eaten something on the streets, which people dont do here. but anyway, if you need one, find a convenience store, or a pachinko parlor. They will always have one. you might find one next to a vending machine, but not always.

The skewered fried meat on a stick is kushikatsu. There should have been a container of "communal" sauce where you can dip the fried sticks of meat (just don't dip the sticks of meat more than once or "double-dip" because this is unsanitary, or you can use the cabbage to dip into the sauce, and then "spoon" the sauce onto the fried meat sticks. The cabbage will also ""clean out" your mouth between the fried sticks of meat, as well as aid in digestion.

Your choice of kushikatsu is a great one. Kushikatsu in Osaka is a specialty. When I entertain my American friends, if it is not sushi, I choose the kushikatsu course. This is because it is similar to but different from tempura, uses bread crumbs, which are rare in the West, and has a variety of items one after the other. You get to eat a variety of ingredients: vegetables, seafood, meat, etc. Since it's about one bite at a time, you can often eat something even if you don't like it. In addition, it is delicious with pork cutlet sauce or Worcestershire sauce. Salt is also acceptable, though. There are strict rules for kushikatsu. You are not allowed to dip the kushikatsu twice. This means that there is a container of sauce on the table, and you may dip the kushikatsu once, but you may not dip it a second time after you have bitten into it, as it is messy. This is a hygiene rule. If you want to put more sauce, you can keep the sauce on a small plate. If you ask for a small plate, they will provide you with another one.

There's another Apple store in Omotesando, Tokyo. It's another posh area but is not as boisterous and extravagant as Ginza. It's more of like an old money neighbourhood. The Omotesando Street stretches all the way to Meiji Jingu/Harajuku. There's a cool half sunken mall there called Omotesando Hills, designed by a famous Japanese Architect. Stroll the inner streets of Omotesando and you'll find a lot of local artisan shops. While youre there, you can also explore Aoyama neighbourhood. The cafes there all super quaint and pretty. As for food! You should try a Gyudon next, which is basically a beef bowl. You'd love it. There's a lot of gyudon chain restaurants that are quite famous, like Matsuya and Yoshinoya. I prefer Matsuya though! Locals like to go there for a filling meal after work etc. Enjoy your time in Japan!!

There are two times when you (typically) have warm Sake. During the colder months and for cheaper Sake. A more refined and polished Sake is drunk cold. Also, with the Kushikatsu fried skewers, there is a sauce that you dip it into (never double dip the skewer) and the cabbage is for applying more of the sauce if you've dipped the skewer once already.

Local from Hiroshima area, now living in the East Coast and enjoying your videos. Streets are generally clean and trash-free in Japan even if there's no trash cans around - because we just don't litter (and keep our own trash if needed - until we find the trash cans). We were raised to clean our own classroom at the end of the day since elementary school (we don't have janitors) so "clean your own mess" good practice is embedded in our culture. That's why you see Japanese sport players and fans/supporters clean the area before leaving the sport stadium wherever they go. I always tidy-up the hotel room before checking out. It's natural thing for us. Hope you visit many "Depachika" (basement shopping floor at the every department store specializing gourmet foods) - tons of great food there.

Yes it was america mura the american village. Its an acrylic stand at 20:06 Usually the scewers kushikatsu you have to dip them into a sauce on the table (dip only once) but since the Pandemic they didnt do that often so usually you use the cabbage as a spoon to put the sauce on the skewer and sometimes the sauce is just on the Table like a soy sauce and you can eat the cabbage with the sauce. It has changed a littlebit but the star is the sauce 😂 and the sake it often depends on the weather. Usually people drink it warm in winter and cold or room temperature in spring and summer. Maybe thats why he couldnt explain to you easily 😂😂😂

Dottonbori is pronounced doh-ton (like the weight in English)-bori the fried foods you had it's a Osaka specialty kushi-katsu, and you have a sauce you dip in our use the cabbage to pick up some sauce and pour onto your food as you can't double dip (of course). The okonomiyaki you had isn't the normal kind, it should be in a circle.

I am glad you enjoyed the sake. I am sorry that the first two people were probably part-timers and did not provide very good service. (It seems that young people in Japan don't drink sake very often these days.) Sake comes in three main temperatures: hot (hot), lukewarm (loose warmth), and chilled (cold), but lukewarm may not be available in many restrants. There are two flavors: dry and sweet. Dry sake is more refreshing. If you like white wine, you may want to choose the dry version. The sweet wine has a sweetness like sweet wine or port wine. There is also shochu, which is a distilled spirit. It is a little cheaper. Sake is made from rice, but there is also shochu made from barley or sweet potatoes. The most famous brand is called "Iichiko. Another unusual type of sake is made from fruits such as persimmons and kiwis.
