Thieves probably got a miserable amount at a pawn shop then pawn shop wants to sell them at retail even if in poor shape.

There was a 60 amp breaker labeled as dishwasher and disposal that is probably for the air handler

“ Small thing to a Giant” is the right attitude even if you left the compartments unlocked. Now the Giant needs to step up and do the right thing for that woman. When she points out the condenser running root cause as your leaving late on Friday afternoon after you are already pissed at losing your stuff, you know the solution is a wire connection away. A Giant would come back the next day and fix that thing.

You right Walt, you need time to troubleshoot that unit. Too much going on or just replace it.

I wouldn't suspect a low charge iced back to the compressor like that. If it were low charge I would expect to see high SH and a high suction line temp. Maybe ice on a quarter to half of the coil if it were a TXV or a hot dry coil with a piston. This looked like a piston so the orifice could be over sized, but I would start with airflow. The fact that the ODU shuts off only if the t-stat is off and presumably when the t-stat is off its base indicates a bad t-stat, but it is odd that the IDU shuts down without a call from the t-stat. Shouldn't be difficult to troubleshoot. Considering all the problems that have been there. would also strongly suggest a wet switch in the pan. There's no reason for there too ever be enough water in the pan to make it outside no mater why the IDU is leaking. Would have the customer sign the invoice with it stating that the disconnect was bypassed, with a recommendation of replacement. That kind of stuff can come back to haunt you.

Don’t know if you know already but you can put the heat pump in cool on the thermostat and just add or remove the reversing valve to put it in heat mode at the condenser. That’s how I thaw out those heat pumps

seems like you were on the right track with that thermostat. tough call at the end of the day. Don't buy that pawn shop stuff and hopefully one day that won't steal because nobody will give them money for stolen things.

After 5 you need to charge 20 dollars per step at that house.

Once that disconnect was bypassed. Why not stop there and require them to pay you to replace it. Then move the cap to the correct location and check it With that pan filled and she said water on the floor almost dry now. Must need the drain unclogged two float switch installed. One on the primary and one in pan to break Yellow. Definitely got them cooling. I know they were happy. That unit was a mess. Sleep on it the answer will come to you.

Be careful Walter. Last year some highly sophisticated criminals put a gps tracker on my truck. I found it cleaning out the back of the bed and threw it away. Later that week I was followed from the bank. Like a fool I stopped to get an invoice signed and left the bank envelope in the console. I wasn’t but two minutes and about from the street to the door and they broke my window and took the money. There was 7k in the envelope. They watch the banks for contractors coming and doing business then once they make you like a deer hunter they start tracking you waiting for the opportunity they can get you. Don’t take the same paths don’t go to same locations don’t do business on the same days don’t fall into a routine. Stay safe Bro.

On those units look at the serial # W1k5 (November 2015) 1 5 year K=Month W is the location where it was made. too bad about ur tools being stolen, Guess they needed it more then you did. i had my tools stolen a few times, doesnt feel good. Keep the videos coming. I find if the the condenser fan dies or they have their coils very dirty, that the high head causes a leak in the condenser coils. this year alone, i have replaced 3 coils , most i have ever did in one summer.

It might be a stuck contactor in on position the reason outside unit won't shut off

Unit is from 2015. Coleman goes off of the second and fourth number on the serial number. Which in your case is 1 and 5. So it’s a 2015. Also sorry about your loss, one thing for sure things always come to the light. Somebody is eventually gonna slip up and you’ll know who took your stuff 🙏🏽

I'm guessing the previous HVAC did what they did to satisfy the management company and likely their instructions to do what they can for the least amount of money however, that blower assembly install really had nothing to do with pricing. They either remove it and put it back correctly or they were incompetent as show in the video. Also, the condensate is dripping full time so thats where they are getting all of the mud on the side of the house. That drip needs to be relocated/rerouted to prevent that. Then...the wiring ! What a joke, they made it a junction box vs. a disconnect, corroded wires at their connections etc. and total mickey mouse work for an air handler that is 2020 vintage ! Sad...the system isn't working because of the poor jacked up Chuck in the truck service they have been using. These management companies need to be getting pictures of the work they are paying for to examine or they need to save some money in the long run by using reliable HVAC folks vs. focusing on cost per job and using Chuck in a truck HVAC hacks who they keep in business and not for their skills.
