20 years is absolutely devastating. I just can’t even imagine that amount of time for her crime. What a wonderful ray of light she is and I hope it just keeps getting better for her family and herself ❤

Wtf? That's such a wack statement. If you rob me for hundreds of thousands of dollars I hope you or anyone would get that much time. I don't care how corrupt the company is you steal that much money you should go away for that much time. If you really believe your comment your probably a criminal yourself. That's so fucked up. I am a small business owner and if you stole 50k I would try to make sure you got the max sentence. It's not a simple theft charge. It's felony theft of 300k. She seems nice but if you commit crimes you need to understand that you could go away for a good chunk of time

Nah.. 20 years for 200K.. She got railroaded.. Pointblank.. They give people less time in jail for stealing millions of dollars.. Mat Cox got 15 years in prison (multiple felon prior) for stealing millions of dollars. No way she should have got 20 years.. more like 5 years (maximum).. It is just money.. People rob banks and get 10 years in prison.. Lol

Brother, I'm glad I found your podcast! It has definitely turned my attitude to gratitude. I live in a small town and no one else has been to prison but me. So, there's no one to talk to that would understand. Listening to your story and all the people on your show helps with relating to all of you. I listen to you 8 hours a day at work and my girlfriend of 18 years made a comment about how great my attitude has been and asked what I was doing different and I told her about listening to you. Thank you for your show!!!!

Why should she not have gotten that much time? She stole over 200 thousand dollars.... That's a large amount of money to steal... She didn't shop lift 100 or even 500 bucks worth of stuff from a Wal Mart...She stole almost a quarter million dollars in cash from her employer. That actually is a pretty typical sentence for that level of theft. She also was doing bank fraud by opening fake accounts ( which she called kiting).

Blessings to this woman for sharing everything, her regrets, the awful consequences of her actions, the effect on her family....what a likable woman and I am grateful she's out and has been able to continue her life. Murderers get less than twenty every damn day. I am so against prison time for non-violent offenses. The problem is that United States prisons are privatized (a crime in and of itself) and every prisoner (ESPECIALLY all those - and there are thousands - who commit non-violent offenses) bring in a pretty penny from the federal government for each and every head that gets locked up. It's a totally sick and broken system. The fact that she kept getting rejected for parole year after year despite it being a non-violent crime and after being a "perfect" inmate all those years until she finally loses it, loses her hope and starts acting up IS WHAT THEY WANTED TO HAPPEN so that they could keep her in the system and collect the money. This process of rejection keeps the money flow going. This is a fact.
@garvingirl

There are some private prisons out there, which I think is horrible. But I do think most American prisons are still government run entities.

Who sets sentences? Like in the beginning? So she stole what the owner probably cheated on his taxes. She should have been punished and made accountable, but 2 years would've been devastating and enough to ruin her life as it was. But hey let's punish her kids, make the tax payer get hit for 25G a year when she could've been out being a tax payer. She's inspirational.

I guess it just depends on who you know and how much influence that person has with the prosecutors. My half-sister stole at least that much money from a nursing home she worked at as the Nursing Home Administrator. She was married to a Texas Game Warden, and he apparently had some kind of sway with the prosecutor. She was convicted of embezzlement, and her punishment was to repay the money she stole. She received no jail time or fine. They are allowing her to repay the stolen money at about twenty-five dollars a month. Even though she's a convicted felon, she is still able to live around and own guns because of who her husband was. She has also stolen money from my mother for years. She seems to get away with everything.
