I think Ian is extremely humble and real for admitting that he paid for protection because I guarantee you most of these RU-vid prison story channel guys also pay for protection yet they would never have the guts to admit it. From what I saw in Florida State prison, even the biggest toughest guys that aren't gang affiliated will get extorted by the people who are gang affiliated you have to keep in mind there are people doing 20 years that don't have anyone on the outside sending them a dime and then they see you coming back from the canteen $50 worth of junk food , soda,, hygiene items, stamps, they're not going to just let that slide, your an open target. They will take everything you got. Its much easier to give someone a bag of coffee a week or a couple phone calls to ensure that doesnt happen.

Man! I’m about the same age as you, maybe a couple years older. And I remember hearing about your arrest back in 2014/2015. I’m from L.A. and always was intrigued by how the fed was so invested in making a spectacle out of such a young person, that was honest and got screwed over for being honest. After watching the HBO episode, I knew there was more to your story because it all just didn’t make sense. Honestly it seemed like such a petty prosecution for such a small amount of money. Compared to real fraud criminals that are never caught or let off on just probation. Tbh. I am so glad you did this interview. Thanks for being vulnerable and putting yourself in the hot seat. It’s interesting to hear how this kid thinks about his peers and compares his “work ethic” to them. It seems that because he grew up around middle and upper class kids, he was convinced no one could keep up with his work ethic/addiction. Almost every kid I grew up with worked in kitchens or construction starting at 14 years old. When you actually need money to have things like clothes and a car or whatever, you work for it. Perhaps not anymore but that’s how it was when I was a kid. I can’t recall ever thinking I was better than anyone because I worked. I just wanted a job like everyone else.

People forget how younge he actually was. His need to be liked fuelled his obsession not to fail. Glad you came out the side

As one who makes my living interacting with, speaking to/with groups from Chairs/CEO's & their lieutenants to the boards that they supposedly report to(anytime a CEO also carries the title of "Chairman" of the very board that he is theoretically supposed to report to and be evaluated by, call me skeptical😂😂), along with advising them, while speaking to 1000-1200 filled seats auditoriums of their employees, I found Bryce to be THE finest interviewer that I have observed on either YTube or ANY social media platform!! He is exceptional and if you are as bright as I believe you to be, I would watch, rewatch and learn from his style. I realize that you are not Bryce and have your own style, though he does a few things that I believe that you could incorporate as you you have the natural ability and talent to assume different delivery styles which most do not possess and are unable to do. All the Best & Continued Success👊 RP

Pretty wild story, and certainly entertaining. I wish you well in whatever you decide to do, and hope you can find some peace with the personal demons that, for whatever reason, can sometimes lead to poor choices & not the best decision making. Dealing with that stuff can help you grow as a person, and take what you’ve learned about yourself to the next chapter in your life. Stay positive, Ian.

So far I'm interested in the Montessori school. My brother's went to what is called Waldorf school. They all did very well and are doing pretty well as adults now. Public school wrecked me and my mom theorizes that I would've done better in life had I had the same opportunity.

Public school sucks, but all the waldorff kids I met were fucking weird and socially incompetent and seemed extremely unprepared for the real world. The requirements for that school were insane too (atleast the specific school I lived near). Kids were in the 8th grade drinking juice boxes and having nap time like pre-schoolers and they weren't allowed to have a TV in their household, it was the most bizzare thing I'd ever seen

This is a very interesting and different story from the prison genre. I wish he got more into his story in actual prison. I feel like there is a lot more to it than this. Great story nevertheless! I would love to see an interview where he just speaks on his entire prison experience.

Saw a lot of people acting hard calling you a bitch in the shorts. Just wanna say, you made it out and you are actually back in society not easy by any means. All the haters would be balling their eyes out within the first day asking to be let out and saying they would change.
@NdaKeekz

He's not a bitch. He knows that he couldn't physically protect himself so he chose who he would be extorted by, instead of letting them choose him. In jail/prison it's definitely viewed as being lesser of a man.

@@NdaKeekzit absolutely makes him less of a man are u kidding me? He got extorted and payed to survive. There is no honor in that he’s a coward.

@@bigoffwhite I agree. My point was that he knew he'd get bitched regardless, so he went straight to paying for protection instead of getting ran up on.
