I completely agree with the colour analysis you got. The green makes your eyes brighter and enhances out your lovely complexion. The orange doesn't have the same effect on you. Your skin tone doesn't look as vibrant and your eyes don't look as wide awake and fresh in it as the green. I'd love to see you try a pink colour to test out the theory even further

I might be brave enough to try a pink in the future but it's very out of my comfort zone currently but who knows what the future will hold 😊

The difference is really amazing, that Jade jacket really does suit you and your skin tone, as you say it immediately reduces any redness. Keep going with experimenting with more summer colours, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised x I’m a winter and I’m lucky because I love bright jewel colours.

You just seem like the LOVELIEST person. And I hear you. I had my analysis 1,5 year ago, wanted to be a spring but turned out I was a soft autumn. That palette was my least favourite, it just seemed so dull. A year and a half later I almost only wear my colours and everything else just feels wrong. The first thing I thought was that you look like a summer. The flush in your cheeks, your neutral/rosy tones, your light blue BEAUTIFUL eyes. I feel like the orange jacket and red hair makes your skin look almost ruddy, and with the cool green everything just calms down? And could imagine a cool, light colour on you would be lovely. Brave of you to revisit something that made you uncomfortable!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. I printed out the colours section of the analysis and keep it in my bag now so I can refer to it as they just seem so alien to what I would automatically go for. It will take a while to get my head around but I am looking forward to seeing how it influences my decisions x

You can always use the pinks in your suggested colors as makeup colors, for blush and lipstick. You don't have to wear it! Make blues and greens your signature colors, which will look fabulous with your red hair! Your skin looks so much brighter and clearer with the green jacket.

I would agree with the 2nd jacket bringing out the beautiful tones in your skin. But the other one looks fine, too. I just watched a colour analysis video where the colour expert said that it's a guidline and never stop wearing a colour you love just because it's not your best colour, but maybe wear it on a day you're feeling really good.

One thing that hasn’t been mentioned, and is a real clue that the green jacket is in your palette, is this: In the image of you in the green jacket, we notice you first and foremost. In the image of you in the orange jacket, the jacket is more prominent.

Maybe try the bright spring palette, especially with your current haircolor. Imo, the green jacket is not too far outside the realm of the bright spring world and the spring palette would certainly align more with the colors you instinctively love. You have a clear complexion and bright eyes. Also, a more softly constructed jacket or cardigan with less hard lines might be worth exploring. I am also having lots of fun exploring the possibilities of various color palettes 🌸

I agree that the orange doesn't look awful, and there is something to be said for wearing colors that you like, but the green one does brighten your skin tone and brings out your eye color. You bought that jacket presumably because you liked it, so it seems like you could find plenty of colors in your color pallet that you like *and* that look great with your skin/eyes.

The green looks so much better! I think you have a brightness to your skin so you are not a muted summer either. I would love to see a duck egg blue or grey t shirt with the orange jacket, a colour that is not too loud but is cool and light or maybe like a taupe (grey-beige)? I think you suit the brighter colours of summer not the super soft ones. You have amazing colouring, let it shine!

I could notice the difference straight away, the green is so alive on you and gives you depth. I was devastated when I first had my colours done in person. Hairdresser had made me accidently super blonde so I came out muted light and soft (soft autumn) I thought the colour palette was blahh as pastilles and I love bright colours. I did get my colours redone last year via photos and was a sunlit spring. loving the colours but am starting to think maybe the muted wasn't too bad. hehe

Hi Deb I too had my colours done some years ago and followed a similar revelation One of the things I learned was that it really works best with your natural hair colour and if you choose to change your hair colour it can affect the colours you can wear so as I am winter I suit cool colours including hair colour choices So I think the green suits your skin tone the best but the orange suits your hair colour, however both look great hope your well love Hilary x

The teal brings you to the forefront and makes you stand out by complementing your coloring and features. The orange is pretty, but it more kind of makes the jacket the focus and you're more of an accessory to it. To me, anyway. Still, wear what makes you happy! There are no color season police. 😀

Hello Deb Jameson. You just popped up on my RU-vid, I had never seen you before. I enjoyed your video. I was shocked, too! I thought you were an Autumn for sure, but when you put on the pumpkin spice jacket (which is very nice in itself and fits you well) my dear, your face just completely changed colours and shadows fell onto it. I was expecting it to work, but it really didn't. The green jacket completely brightened up your face, erased the shadows, made you look younger and more dynamic! I wasn't expecting that at all, but I encourage you to follow your palette! I empathise. I used to be a Dark Winter and I was always drawn to colours a bit warmer than I should where. Now that I have gone grey and lost pigmentation even in my skin and eyes, I can't wear the dark colours anymore, warmer colours (except pink, red, teal or turquoise) don't work and I have no idea what to wear. I have never been a huge fan of blue, but now it is my go-to, because it's lovely with my hair and not horrible with my skin. My eyes are still quite a dark brown, so they are basically left out of the equation. You're lucky to have such pretty, bright eyes. Good luck losing weight! I feel like everyone in the world is trying to lose weight (including me). I guess it's down to our modern lifestyle. All the best. I'm glad I ran across your video today.

I am concerned that I will spend the money on an analysis and get wrong results or ones I don't like, too. I've been following Carol Brailey on YT. She has a lot of good info. Maybe a slightly different shade for your hair will make your new look more harmonious. I did like the green jacket on you more. What I was told was though these are the ideal colours, it does not necessarily totally preclude others, just best not directly around the face, so can be broken up with a scarf of a colour from within you colour pallet.

You seem like a really lovely person. I’m no expert but I’ve watched probably well over 100 colour analysis videos including ones from 2 channels I really trust in Canada and Australia. I’ve had my colours analyzed as well. I’m a True Autumn which is my least favourite palette but I’m learning to love it and see the difference it makes by wearing colours in my palette. I definitely think the green looks better on you. I think your hair colour is throwing things off. I’ve seen so many before and afters where the change in hair colour truer to the palette makes a huge difference. Are you willing to try that? I was also told that my (coloured) blonde hair was throwing things off and when I changed to a medium brown (close to my natural hair colour before it went gray) it made a huge difference. Remember that certain colours in your palette suit you more than others. So maybe the pinks aren’t your best (or if you really don’t like them, just do t wear them). I look really good in olive green but don’t love it. You can also borrow from other similar palettes (e.g. I can wear some spring colours (not all). Some of them aren’t bad on me even if not the best. As well, remember that it’s not just the temperature of the colour that matters. E.g. I suit med-dark colours and soft-med chroma (I.e. not bright). Sometimes I can wear a colour, let’s say a cooler dark green, even though I’m warm, just because the darkness level suits me. Conversely, a colour may be warm but if it’s too pale/pastel, it washes me out. So play around with that too. And bottom line, don’t wear what you don’t like (just give it a chance in case you change your mind) and if you really love a colour out of palette, just wear it anyway. Plus, remember that you can soften the effect of a less flattering co.our. Eg if you don’t suit black, just don’t wear it next to your face. Or soften it with a scarf, jacket or jewellery in palette. I’ve spent the past 7 mos. Playing around with colours and have had to transform a closet full of black (not good on me) and cool colours. I hope these tips help you. All the best on your colour and style journey!

I think the green jacket suits you better. In the side by side comparison it makes you look younger! I have done the Dressing Your Truth system (I think it might also be called Living Your Truth) which is not based on your skin tone or hair colour, it is based on your personality, your face shape, skin texture and lots of other things. I found it really helpful as it also gave me an insight into who I am as a person. I think there is a free quiz you can take on-line to see what type you are.

First, your complexion is absolutely gorgeous. Second, the green blazer is much more flattering than the orange one on you, even with your hair coloured vibrant red. Third and an unsolicited comment, I admit, is that the red hair colour probably makes your skin look redder than it is in reality. It also isn't harmonious with the summer palette. I don't know what your natural hair colour is but it is likely to be softer and cooler, which would make you look less ruddy. And if you are grey now, your hair colour is likely to be beautiful and thoroughly in harmony with your Summer palette and you.😁

That orange is wrong, u don't have to wear pastel pinks u could wear burgundy instead. I see summer in u with your clear bright complexion, the oranges and warms brings your complexion down. Try the Grey's summers are born to wear grey, grey is my best. Maybe u don't want to change your hair color because that's not in the summer pallette, just go slow, u could do your hair a deeper like more muted not so bright u would come alive!!😅

I can understand why you would have had a negative reaction to the color palette given to you. I remember back in the day, people would say that redheads shouldn't wear any pink or red. However, looking at the two jackets, it's evident the nile green color looks better on you. The orange/bright pumpkin/apricot is a nice color in and of itself, but it doesn't look as good on you, and IMO clashes a bit with your hair. I think it would be worth your while to explore the palette from your color analysis- you don't have to wear all the colors, but you can use four or five to make a cohesive wardrobe.

Summer, but what kind of summer? Cause if you're a soft summer, some autumn colors would actually suit you. Also, orange is a fully warm color, so if your undertone is cool (blue) than unfortunately it will be one of your worst colors (I share that pain, as a winter who loves orange lol), but wearing or not wearing it is a decision you have to make yourself, there's no point in wearing a specific color if you don't like it. As I said I am a winter myself and blue is my least favorite color, so I just don't wear it, if that's pink for you than it's totally ok and valid. Come to think of it, pink isn't really an autumn color, it's not one of those earthy tones, maybe that's why you don't like it. Maybe purple would be a good middle term, since it's also an autumn color. Lavender, periwinkle, shades like that. And since you are a Summer but seems to like warmer colors, you can always try some of the lighter colors from Spring, as both summer and spring are light seasons. Moreover, you can always wear the colors you love on shoes for example, or on the bottom half of your body overall, a blue top and a terracota skirt or pants would go really well together. Wishing you the best in your journey.

You are definitely not an Autumn! I'm a summer too and dislike ballet pinks! There are plenty of others tho'. I avoid them. You can get a scarf in your summer colors to wear with the orange jacket. The blue-green looks really good. It shows less intense red on your face than the orange and lets your pretty face show.

Hi 17:43 you look 35yo. I’m 61yo. So l feel your on the right track but ease up on yourself. I know weight is an issue. Make sure you fill up on a healthy smoothie, vitamins, drink water When you work from home have sliced carrots and hummus or apple etc. Handful nuts. Do you have a dog as l lost weight walking 20minutes day. I do like your hair colour but if your hair is brown maybe have soft red highlights and then you would be able to try some of those pinks. No to autumn jacket (give it away to goodwill shop) and yes teal jacket. Watch inspirational RU-vid ladies like yourself, listen to your favourite music. Take care x

I don't think this hair colour suits you. I think a dark blonde would be nice for you.

@@TheBagMakersSewCiety Maybe it depends how you colour your hair blonde. I once colored my hair years ago with a red auburn dye as it was a fashion trend and then the following morning one neighbour looked at me and said it looked cheap. I realized he was right, despite me thinking it would suit me because I am extremely fair with blue eyes. So that night I recolored my hair more natural looking. I never went back to that colour again.
