Hi Gary, I was using the Goldfield program today with the following settings I.A.R off, Audio response 1-2, Recovery 0, All notches off, Square tones, Sens 95-98. What lead me to end up at these settings was discovering that a piece of iron ringing up at 00-03 laid on top of a copper coin would still sound like iron with the I.A.R off, but would still give the VDI of the copper coin 86-88. As i believed the machine would still give me a VDI reading of a non-ferrous target next to ferrous, i was convinced that I could lower the response speed to 0 as I was no longer concerned about a ferrous target masking a non-ferrous one as I was hearing evvery signal I detected and not worrying about the machine recovering in time in-between. The lower Audio response gave me a better perception of depth and also helped reduce ground chatter as a result of the higher sens levels. I was digging some very deep targets, without being concerned about my sweep spead being too fast for the recovery setting as I was not discing or notching anything out. Just wondering your thoughts, am I making a mistake here? Cheers Antoni

That’s something I like about the DEUS is that you can determine size without pinpoint mode. Also the fact that you were getting solid signal and dug a big piece of iron and still had the good target below it !

"It just proves, that I don't know what I'm talking about".... This cracked me up! I have literally just gotten my first detector yesterday, and have since watched a couple hours of your videos, and I can unequivocally say, you DO seem to know what you are talking about. But I love that even YOU get it a little wrong occasionally, which proves to me that all of us have more to learn. So far your videos have given me a great start in understanding how to set up my Deus II, and more importantly, how to use it. I have learned how to dig better, I've learned more about the different tones, and how the machine works. Great stuff and I appreciate these videos immensely!

I constantly working with /on two programms only : gold and full tones , the best two options for DII , I use diffrent settings . For exaple adding two notches for gold : 1. 00-00 2. 23-25 when ground is uneven ( cultivated land )

Love the education, thank you. Me, I'm on the south shore of Lake Erie (across the pond). Beach is contaminated with aluminium & zinc from boats. Always a pleasure to pick up a lower tone in the 50 to 70 range. Usually I dig them all as an occasional silver coin rings very close. Any tips I can pick up to use a program is most appreciated. Thanks Gary.....

You're definitly not the guy with 3 pair of shoes. What an humble man that make me proud to try to learn some knowledge from. It does'nt matter I still work with D1 You give so much more around this or that machine Was'nt the other half part of silver old one still in the dig or around ? And what a crazy tiny hammered one !!! Well... What more to comment except to say again what you ever red before. Or, thanks

That's great thanks Gary - and very interesting what you say about 'Goldfield' (and 'Relic') - I've had my D2 a couple of months now, and really 'Gone Deep' trying custom programs from ALL the RU-vid guys, including your good 'self... I think it was Marcus (Notched to 11) who turned me on to 'Goldfield/Relic' and I've really grown to love it, and use as my 'Go To'. I think, for some reason (maybe the different settings/filters used etc.?) it's more 'forgiving' when sweeping, ie. to find targets more easily... This might also be to do with the simplicity of the Tone/Audio setup on these programs? In other words - all I'm listening for, is an extremely simple sound -the slightly odd 'Goldfield/Relic' bleep, but one that is clean, has no deep iron tone + is repeatable/without 'stuttering'. I find myself looking at the numbers a lot more - but it's definitely worth it, 'cos I think I'm punching a bit deeper with these programs too... Anyways, interested to know your take on this matey, and thanks as ever for the excellent advice and demos... Bobby 🙏
@The-skillschool
@The-skillschool 11 месяцев назад
Thanks Bob, I think the Relic and Goldfield have a great unfiltered sound. Yes I am convinced they have a little more raw punch.

I forgot that I wanted to ask you something earlier. Is it possible to use the multi-frequency feature on the sonar program ? I I have the original sonar program loaded exactly as you’ve instructed with great results. Maybe you’ve done that and I missed it. Thanks a bunch.

I love gold field in a wide open area, but have always shied away from it in heavy iron. I didn't think it would separate very well. But you had no issues, so I need to rethink my assumptions! Why do you suppose gold field worked better in stubble than sensitive full tone? Also, do you ever notch out any numbers when you're detecting UK fields or pastures?
@The-skillschool
@The-skillschool 5 месяцев назад
Goldfield and Relic work differently, they seem to ork just as well with the coil higher, also the GB is more accurate. Here in the UK the only thing I notch out is wet sand or sometimes the halo effect from wet ground, never targets. Head for the iron, you may be pleasantly surprised 👍🤝

I am subscribed to your channel and subscribed to the Scottish metal detectorists Johns channel. He has your custom deep programming but he is on version 0.71 but I am on 1.10 Will there be different settings for the 1.10 version? If there are, is it possible that I could have the settings for my 1.10 version?
