The Apple Watch Ultra was a device I was one the fence about but after a week and some change with this smartwatch I have some thoughts. I was all wrong about this device and now can see what Apple was up to with this one. This is my full honest review of the Apple Watch Ultra

The battery! Now I can track my sleep patterns and still have tons of charge the next day. The size - much easier to read and see. The band - love the trail loop, thin and light, easy to put on. The ruggedness - very durable, virtually indestructible. Overall - love this watch. Huge upgrade from my series 5

You wont regret it. Got mine a couple of weeks ago and I fell in love with the Ultra from day one. It replaced my Series 6. The Ultra is my 7th Apple Watch.

I went from a series 6 to the ultra and love it, the battery life alone is unbelievable compared to my old Series 6. Which was less then a year old when I upgraded 😂 but I gave it to my 15 year old daughter and called it a early 16th birthday present, ofc she will get more than that. But it has 98% battery health and not a scratch on it thanks to a case. Anyway I have had my Ultra since it was released, and I love it. It lasts my long photography trips with activity tracking, music control and text messaging and even after that 12 hour day it comes home with 70% battery and it is used a lot during that day.

Totally agree. I’ve not even taking it hiking / wild camping yet, which will unlock even more potential, but as for now, the design, durability, incredibly bright display, battery life, are all reasons to upgrade alone. Best smartwatch out there by a mile.

Agree! The Series 8 didn't look like that much of an upgrade from my 6, but the Ultra was obviously a new animal. I had to have it. I've only had mine for a couple of days, so I"m still learning. The battery life is insane compared to my 6. So far, I'm loving it. I like orange too, so I got the Trail Loop that has an orange tab.

I got one and love it! Yesterday I tried using the crown on the other side but not sure if I am going to switch it back. I have hit the buttons unintentionally with my wrist and when I have gloves on.

I got mine as a gift. I thought I would not like it, but I WAS WRONG… I love the battery life and the ruggedness of the watch. I’m no mean an “athlete” but I am digging this watch and the functionalities.

Been hard on the fence about this for weeks. A user of AW since Series 3, been daily driving a stainless Series 6 for over a year. I was concerned mainly about the size and the practicality for an average user, but your review helped sway me. Going to pick mine up in a couple of hours

I had a series 5 and after three months of disappointment I gave it to my daughter and vowed to never buy another apple watch again, a few years later I spotted the ultra and saw that it had great battery life and I gambled.. I wasn’t disappointed! I love it as an average consumer 👌

Honestly, I’ve been wanting to get myself one of these for Christmas and for two big reasons. 1: this is a big upgrade from the Apple Watch SE (first gen) that I have and it would be a huge difference for anyone that also has a 3rd series. 2: I wanted to remember this year, 12mp as a lot has changed in my life. Im also gonna try to get a better band then what they advertised, I wanted to get a stainless steel band.

I picked up what was available at the time and it happened to be the one with the Alpine Green loop as opposed to the Black/Gray Trail loop which I think is the best one for it. The Alpine loop will do for now until my Trail loop gets here in December. I’m liking the watch and it happens to be my 1st time going cellular. My last watch was a 40 mm Series 4. I’m not going diving or climbing mountains but this thing sure looks good on me and the battery life was the selling point.

62H before I hit 10%. I had the always on display off-with wrist up to turn on for 15 seconds otherwise I used it normally for text, apple pay, a few calls and heart monitor it's amazing.

I purchased the Apple Watch Ultra for various reasons but the main one is the dive capabilities, I stopped diving a few years back but still do open water swimming and snorkling, the watch records my depth , the water temperature, its easy to read underwater and control while still recording how far I swam. It's almost inspired me to get back into diving.

I picked up an Apple Watch Ultra with the Trail Loop.I'm coming from a series 4 aluminum. Debated heavily between the 8 stainless steel and the Ultra, but really like the design of the Ultra and the much improved battery life. Was a bit concerned it would be too big as I have smaller wrists, but looks great. Looking forward to using it on my next hike!

I don’t workout enough to have a dedicated button for something I’ll need once a day or every other day. So I use it for flashlight 🔦. I tried shortcuts to also launch another app but that was also not as useful cause the app I use a lot has a complication that I can just click. The action button is really great for hiking and setting waypoints. Makes it easy to see where you have been and backtracking is awesome. Getting accurate directions to your parked car has also been useful.

Still rocking with my Series 4 here. I was really tempted to get the Ultra just because of the design change and battery. But beyond the price tag (1000 Euros), I tried it at a store and it looks to big on my wrist unfortunately. I will hope for a redesign on the “regular” Apple Watch, hopefully the one that was rumored for the Series 7 which ended up on happening.

Nice review! Mine is arriving on Monday. My only criticism is that I wish Apple would have come out with bands more for the "average user". I don't like any of the new bands this watch is coming out with. I know that you can use older bands, and that's what I'm going to do, but my understanding is that they don't fit quite as well as the new bands.

I have owned an Apple Ultra watch for about one month. I like big watches. This one is more comfortable than my other big watches. The only thing I would like to see is for Apple to offer the Ocean silicone watch band in black as well as orange, the two most popular colors for watch bands. I also have a series 7 and 8 in the larger stainless case. I do like to rotate my watches and the smaller Apple watches never let me down.

Amazing review and like you, I'm an average guy that doesn't do any extreme activities and didn't know if paying for an Ultra was justifiable. I previously had a series 6 and wanted to change, looked at the 8 and the Ultra. Like you, the battery was a huge plus for me and the screen size came second so I got it and man I don't regret it at all.... I work out in a gym and also paddle as a sport and I can track both with one press, of one button... with cell phone option, I listen to my music and podcast when I'm out and about without the need to bring my phone... I take care of business using my watch, track my sleep etc and all that with one charge of 60 hours (not using battery save mode), ONE CHARGE !!!! I don't regret my purchase, for me, for the usage I get out of it, well worth $$$$$$

As a person who likes a mixture of quality/comfy things, I really like the new flat design of the ultra, currently I have a aw series 7 that’s meh on battery after a bike ride and lite exercise with fitness plus… I’m holding out a bit longer for a more efficient chipset… I got my fluffy fur crocs and sweats with my aw the perfect combo of comfort/style… good review bro thanks 💪

I own the first Apple Watch when they came out I kept it for about a year then I sold it to a friend of mine… then I got me a Garman because I travel and spend a lot of time outdoors … So now the apple has came out with a more of an adventure watch… I ordered the Apple ultra yesterday I will receive it sometime today looking forward to it take it diving and running and some other adventures

It’s a great Watch. Had the S7 and would only last a day w/ AOD. 12 more hrs if I turned it off. Felt like a SE at that point. The Ultra gets 3 days AOD/sleep record. 4-5 days w/ it off. Peace of mind is priceless

Battery Screen and watch faces. I can actually see and use my watch during runs and look at heart rate zone. I am coming from a gen 3 stainless. Still love it but I can text and read posts and see pics on it.

I love the Apple Watch Ultra, but the orange makes me think of construction workers & traffic cones, and the titanium color gives the Watch like an industrial type of look as if you’re in the industry of building skyscrapers or sum. Sure that can be cool for some people, but for me those 2 things are tacky af & not “tacti-cool” at all 😂😂 So I put a case on my watch to change it’s color, with a nice & cheap metal band, and I’m much more in love with it now!! 🙌🏼😄😂

Just got my ultra with green alpine loop I wanted the new blue/grey trail loop but it was too long of a wait. The alpine loop is growing on me it’s very comfortable and on my large (almost 8”) wrist it fits well. I did order a knock off orange alpine loop and blue/grey trail loop cause 100$ for a watch band is insane. Can’t wait to use it when I go snorkeling next month on my carribean cruise.

I bought my Ultra almost 3 weeks ago. Ive owned from the Series O to Series 7, this is by far the best watch Apple has come out with. I absolutely love the screen size, battery life, and it’s not on every persons wrist like my other previous Apple Watches. I ordered with the white ocean band, so comfortable

It´s for sure not "big", or in Apple standard it is. But next gen up a few mm and give it ceramic and it will be 100%. :) Use my Ultra as daily watch 24/7 and love it.

Bought 2 - one for my wife and one for me. We both had Series 2 watches. Verizon gave us $150 off each watch. We own a horse farm, we are Boomers and empty nesters now…we are enjoying the fact these are much more capable as well as much tougher. **we bought extra bands (Alpine Loop and the Ocean bands).

Apple knew average users would like this watch as well, they just added more features to make it appeal to the more extreme athletes and attract new buyers. The Ultra is great and I’m enjoying the ocean band. I’ve also ordered the trail loop, but have to wait a few more weeks for that ☹️ I would never buy a Garmin watch, who cares if the battery lasts for a month when the user interface you interact with is garbage and the smart features aren’t even close to an Apple Watch. I would bet more people will leave Garmin for this watch than most people expect.

I have not bought it yet I want to see it on my wrist I have never had a Apple Watch but I really want this one as long as my wrist is not to small 6.5 inch. I do not have a apple store near me so I can not go try it on to see how it looks but I will as soon as possible I just hope it is not to big

As a woman, I thought I would be intimidated by how much bigger it is from the 45mm and more so the 41mm but as soon as I tried it on at the Apple Store I ended up returning the Watch 8 and got the Watch Ultra and I came from using the smaller Watch. As an average user, I LOVE the battery life! I can use the sleep tracker now whereas before I would have to charge my watch at the end of the day. And the fact that I can see things on the Ultra while walking in the bright sun is a game changer. The durability is also awesome. The other day I hit my arm against a wall while walking (yes, I’m clumsy and accident prone while walking lol) and I hit the Ultra pretty hard. I thought for sure the screen was cracked but nope, it was good! For sure if I was using the Apple Watch it would’ve shattered.

I ordered one. As I type my watch is at 50% at 36 hours, a solid 3 days, with sleep tracking and exercise. The hyoe is wrong. This Is for real proportion. Real people who are ACTIVE but not necessarily extreme users. Those need the Garmin of the world. I will never go back to a curved screen again-you can actually USE this watch. The curved screen makes all the other watches impractical to type on, and difficult to see in any action settings. So the proper audience is…everyone!

The 60 hour Power Down apparently will do so by stopping various processes. How bout this? Turn it off. That will give you much longer than 60 hours. Turn it on a couple times a day to check messages, etc then off. Or, maybe I don’t think much of a Power Down capability.

Wow! You have big wrist! But that watch stills looks ridiculous on your wrist it’s still to big! If I was you definitely would go for the regular Apple Watch 8 . My preference the vintage watches 😊
