Oh, I'm glad I'm not the only one who instantly shipped Barbaros and Chastille once I saw them interact! Like Brandon said, helping her out with her klutziness AND genuinely enjoying her (likely) awful food? That's a sealed deal right there!

I sincerely hope we get an S2 announcement because there's so much content for it.

Nope! I hardcore ship Barbatos and Chastille together. I had a grin from ear to ear watching them together in this episode. Getting what we did for them was the cherry on top of everything else.

Trust me you will want to watch the next season if get it. More lovely and badass scenes and character also a proper villain and the plot will thicken.

This was an amazing, wholesome, relaxing, and heartwarming fantasy romcom. It’s about a socially inept sorcerer who saves an elf girl who now live together and eventually create a family.Zagan and Nephy's awkwardness is one of the things that makes their relationship so nice to watch. It’s so wholesome The other characters are also nice. As the story progresses, the two adopt Fol, who is absolutely adorable, and you want to headpat her 24/7. They befriend Chastille, an Angelic Knight. She is also quite charming and a klutz. Raphael is also quite the character. He is basically just a kind old man and a grandpa to Fol. And I can't forget Barbatos who is so much fun.

I didn't expect my guess from last week to bear fruit, chastille and barbatos really seem like a good ship. Now besides that, just a perfect family bonding episode. I wasn't into this show at first but I'm glad I decided to watch it because of the buzz online, this was a great show. Also to add on to the ship, barbatos doesn't have to clean up after her, he's supposed to guard her. At this point, she just needs him to open up more. Man I love this wholesome episode

This anime has no right being so wholesome and happy, but I am glad to got to see it.

This is amazing plus Brandon since read the side manga to see more Chastille and Barbaros it's amazing and even if there is no season 2 please read the manga because it only gets better onwards.

As a LN reader I’m so happy with this anime. I was so worried that they wouldn’t be able to do it justice and was just so happy that they did such a great adaptation. I really hope that this series gets more seasons as I’d like to see more interactions of the characters and progress the main story. 😊

As mu h as I would have loved more budget and better production for the series, ultimately I can't complain. As a LN reader, I was constantly remarking to myself how much this story read like an anime, wishing upon wish that it would get an adaptation. And, honestly, I think they did it well. They placed the focus on the character interactions while still putting in the hints and clues of a much, MUCH larger plot going on that we've only scratched the surface of at this point. I REALLY hope we get more seasons of this show, particularly because it gets even better from here. There are so many more characters I want to see animated and voiced and/or join the story proper (particularly a certain woman fueled by LOVE POWER!). So here's hoping that light novel and figure sales go up so they have incentive for making a season 2!

I want season 2. We need more episodes with For!!! ^_^ I just love that diary writing intro with For.

There was nowhere near enough Nephy in episode 11 for that to be the ending.

I love that Raphael who killed more sorcerers than any other knight was only in self defense. The poor guy just wanted to talk but gets attacked every time. Barbados needs a redemption arc and has to repent for his past actions, and Chastille is just the knight to do it. Going to try and burn through the light novels before July. This was a bundle of wholesome for me. Considering how jam packed the Spring season has been, this was the perfect middle of the week palette cleanser.

I’m gonna miss this series it give me huge smile on my face every time I see a happy family.

This series is just one of my favorite series of all time. I can't remember the last time I smiled so much during an episode.

And you know what is the funniest part? There was a hidden allusion to the main even of what would be the first half of the (please give it to us) Season 2. Not telling what, but when it happens, and I'm praying 'till my hands fuse together for it, I'll mention it in a comment. But other than that, this was 95% the anime adaptation we were asking for this series. Granted, I do agree with you where the action side of the ost is concerned, but everything else, despite the budget, did lots with little. They need to keep the studio that cooked, for their work only needs some slight adjustments to be true chef's kiss. It's impossible for me to name the star of the show tonight, for all left the stage with their best performances. But damn, that dinner scene with Uncle Barbatos being ye classic drunk relative that makes himself a fun embarrassment and Chastille being the adorable klutzy crybaby she is when she is in off-duty mode... and the added detail of Chastille later sleeping with her plushy and Barbatos with his fork on the head... it's gestures like that on behalf of the animators that make me love a good adaptation all the more. So glad you picked it up, Brandon. This show deserved to be reacted and reviews by you.

I love this series so much. And since I am a manga reader, I do really want to see a season 2. And Maybe some OVA's that cover the official spinoff manga.

I'll miss this wholesome "family" show, hopefully there will be a season 2. It was simply so good with every character having its place and a purpose and I'm glad I decided to watch it day 1.

This was a great and well adapted anime, of course its nothing of the other world but it was really good, I really want a second seasson as they have so much they could adapt, and its more interesting as they enter even more in the world of the magic and sorcerers

Watching that felt like the ending to Final Fantasy IV or Return of the king. They NAILED it. They took the last episode to show us the warmth, love, and quirkiness of the characters we spent the last three months with. I'd adore a season 2, but even if we don't get one this ending gives the impression that, for the moment in time, all is right with their world. It was beautiful.

It is a good conclusion of this arc, no loose ends for now.. The next arc, which will be season 2 will not have such an epilogue though.. as it opens many plotlines for future arcs :) Also we need Chastille and Barbatos side stories... there is a whole manga of the same author about those two

yup....I'm satisfied with the ending outcome. Its good enough to end the series and leaves enough just in case a season 2 becomes a reality. If it does show then that's fine, otherwise, this is a good series to watch and enjoy on a leisure time. Hopefully it does get a season 2, but I would probably doubt it. Otherwise, Enjoy my friend.

This was a perfect ending. Last episode was the end of book 2 so this was anime original.

Didn’t expect Barbatos to be as much of a main stay as he ended up being. I had a feeling he’d survive and continue but they progressed that a lot faster than I anticipated. I’ll admit the romance was kinda too slow a burn imo but not so slow I got board. Overall I’d watch more of a season two comes out but I am satisfied with what we got.

I would estimate that the first 5 minutes was cannon, while the rest of the episode was non cannon. Doesn't take away from the show, though.

anime only here. after watching was curious how others felt about the since i binged this weekend. i was def surprised by the hate i saw on reddit, the top link when i looked up a review of the series. im glad i came to your channel and heard some well thought out discussion on the show. i personally adored the show. heavily reminded me of shield hero but with different goals. MC isn't on a revenge rampage. MC more directly and honestly pursues the girl. Not a harem. We have actually interesting side male characters.

This show was definitely fun but fell off a bit for me. It was much more interesting to me seeing Zagan and Nephy's relationship grow and build but they kept getting further and further away from that, to where it was rare they even interacted within an episode. Maybe it's just because there were so few romance anime this season and too much fantasy shenanigans, I was left wanting more of the actual romance aspect.
