Agree, there's a lot of versions/copies of this thing around, I have a cheap Amazon variant, quite thin, and but it does come with pegs, which indeed are VERY needed - else if you duff it the mat could end up 10 yards down the range. So no use to try mine on a mat. The little green rings on mine however are not very high quality, even with my low side of average swing speeds they come off (after say 25 shots I already have like 10 rings missing) It is useful though, I use it in combination with my Garmin LM, Garmin doing the path and AoA, mat does the low point - although putting a tee in front of your ball for measuring low point is cheaper for sure :-)

I despise having to hit off the matt because I don't get the feedback from my divots. Because of it's thickness this might work better if you can lay it directly on the concrete while taking your stance on the matt. At my local range there's plenty of room to do that and it would even things out so your balls not above your feet though that's certainly worth practicing too. At my local range they force us on the matts 2 days a week. But the rest of the time we're hitting off turf where we can read our divots and tools like that just aren't needed. I make a point, if I happen to go on a day where it's matt's only, to just use the practice green and the two traps for chipping, pitching, and sand shots longer instead. It's truthfully more useful to me anyway, just maybe not as much fun as trying to shape shots into targets. Especially on a hot sweaty day. lol

I've got a acustrike. About 1/4' thick with peg holes.

The one I purchased came in two types… one with that thick plastic bottom, and the one I have which has no plastic bottom and has 4 riveted holes in the corners that you place tees through to keep the mat from flying away, but you must have grass/dirt.

Lee, good to see you on YT. It's similar to a Divot Board with sequences on top. But, as you said, the problem with the Divot Board, the one you reviewed and all others strike mats is that they move when you hit them and they are and inch tall, if not taller, which affects your swing and low point. To stp this from happeming, you'd have to put a hole in your mat to insert the strike pad into to prevent it from moving and to make it the correct height. Not sure if that's a good idea or worth doing. Cheers.

These break like you wouldn't believe.

The markings after the ball don’t dictate path because the ball has gone. Watch any elite player and they exit left but that doesn’t mean because the divot is left that path was too. These aids might just make the useful grade but personally i think they are rubbish. I know when I’ve fatted it. I don’t need a visual aid for that and not many of us do. Good to see you back though!

I had a very similar one and within around 10 shots on the range it was beaten.. it split and ripped up.. the company said they are not designed for single figure golfers with higher swing speeds 😂😂😂 not sure which company supplied yours as I may have missed it in the video but think better investing in visiting a trackman or similar driving range.. 😂😂

Good to see you back again Lee, the height difference is easily remedied by going to your local diy store and buying a piece of plywood to stand on, might be buying mat and ply shortly !!🏌️‍♂️
